Just some videos from time to time.
The Tektronix 2247A
Just a little bit about Tek's 2247A scope and some of it's features.
Tektronix 2200 series scopes promotion video. ua-cam.com/video/A2_kTWa10hM/v-deo.html
The flickering you see on the scope screen
and the lighted buttons are from the vertical
sync rate from the camera and the scopes
front panel scan rate interference. You don't
see that in real life.

Party like it's 1995

A clip from a party back in '95, ahh the good 'ol days.
I was stationed at Chase Field as an Air Traffic Controller from1969 to 1973 - They not only trained pilots but also really good AC's. We had really heavy air traffic. Loved being stationed at Chase.
Sad, sad, sad😔
Man time has moved on so damn much this would be unthinkable today people can't just have a good time
I've had one since the late 80s. It's been very useful and reliable. I actually prefer it over my Tek TBS2000.
I just bought one. I have digital scopes but I have wanted an analogue for quite some time and the price was right on this guy.
Why did they close NAS Chase Field even though it was ranked so high? My guess is a powerful Representative or Senator on the Armed Services Committee had business interests that would have failed had they closed one of the other, more deserving of closure sights….never underestimate the extent a politician will go to protect their personal interest…that’s the conspiracy buff speaking. The logical reason is it’s close proximity to NAS Corpus Christi and NAS Kingsville. Since Chase was equal to Kingsville they shut down the one with the least impact since Beeville is smaller than Kingsville….or the politician thing…
Hey there! I would love a Tek 2247A however I'll need to be waiting a bit considering how expensive they go for on Ebay. Very amazing features.
Wow you are right! There are very few of them and they are expensive!! The 2247A is an analog scope but has has many features only seen in a digital scope, just no storage. I hope you find one. Check craigslist as well.
@@blunite545 I was able to score one! Just got it today, amazing piece of test gear
@@Wes8761 Go to Old Tek Scopes group on facebook and share some photos!
Nice sharp CRT. Low hour unit.
Yes it's in like new condition, it's backup battery is 3.6 vdc. I think it was from a University or something as the guy who sold it to me had many. The Tek 2440 i got is also mint but had both the NvRams dead. Easy to fix and cal. It no doubt has low hrs because both NvRams were dead which means it sat in the off position a lot and it has one hell of a bright trace as well. Cheers! Love your videos btw!
One of the Tek engineers told me the co-processor is the same board, same spec. as used in the 400MHz portables and its actually good to about 500MHz. In actual use, I find that it may be true.
I think you are talking about the 2400 series that can go up to 400mhz, and most of the boards are interchangeable. The 2200 series only goes up to 100mhz. The 2400 and 2200 series of scopes are totally different and are not interchangeable.
I still don't think they will get it flying again.
Why does this video seem like one of those safety videos your forced to watch at work.
Restoration of an original 1980's Science Fiction Cult Film Special Effects filming model begins ========================== ua-cam.com/video/becoWlZaIgs/v-deo.html
Holy smoke, I knew you had some very cool equipment to diagnose ICs and circuit boards, but nothing like this! I’m looking forward for you to walk us through how it all works and what we should be looking for as I try and diagnose all the issues on my lil’ Apple IIc!
Looking forward to these videos. I miss the good old days of BlogTV when you were streaming from Texas
Yes i miss them too.
Stupid Democrats.
Verry good man Technical .
Thank you for posting this. It’s difficult to find information on some of these scopes. Super handy
Love my 2247A. Thanks for sharing this video.
I had a 2247a for a couple months. I upgraded to a 2252 that came with probes and books and such. I wanted to use the GPIB/Printer features also. I love the 2252 and 2247a. (Same scope functionally) fantastic features. The triggering and built in measurements are just out of this world.

I wish I was alive at the time to see Chase Field at it's best. Since becoming a prison, the city has gone downhill
this shithole place is contaminated with radiation. it should never be walked up upon.
i was stationed at chase field vt 26 from 66 to 69. we had the post korea swept wing f-9s they were obsolete even as trainers. i witnessed 2 crashes and one of them up close as i was waiting to taxi him to his spot on the flight line. the pilot was on his last night solo flight. he had completed carrier qualification in the gulf and was about to graduate. he did not survive the crash. i saw the crash from a distance of about 100 yards.. i had dreams about it. God bless him.
I was with VT-25 ‘68/‘69 and I think I witnessed the same crash. It was late evening. I was on fuel crew. 2 F-9’s took off down the runway (east). I remember as they began to lift off, one set of anti collision lights descending and was shocked when it hit the ground. It was kinda overcast that night and it lit up the whole area. He hit near the end of the runway, continued across a large ditch, thru the perimeter fence and stopped in the trees. Apparently he ejected but the Martin Baker seat didn’t carry him high enough and he hit the ground and was killed. Witnessed one other crash another day. Plane ran out of fuel wast of the field (VT-25 end of field). He also ejected (survived) and the plane crashed about a mile from base.
And then, came the 246x series...

As of July 31st 2013 it was unveiled as fully restored and resides in a NASA museum theres a video on you tube showing it being full restored to origonal condition
I had heard it was bought by and was resting in a NASA museum. Viewable by the general public, where it probably rightfully belonged. You ever get your answer on this?
So... this must be Area 51?
Love the music !! Whats it from ??
Which is it? Was it destroyed, or is it still out there somewhere?
" Whatever it was..........it just burned up in the atmosphere"
Still time to bid at Kiko Auctions dot com!
Twenty thousand dollars and counting. If anyone is wondering how the auction is going.
The auction is going on right now!
Thank you so much Lynne for this update, i will try to spread the word out to all i know. Shame you could not continue to restore her. Maybe some one will be able to bring her back to her former glory. Cheers.
Anyone interested in bidding on the Galileo 7 can find out more about the auction at this web site just posted today. The auction is June 18th through June 28, 2012 at noon online. Search on kikoauctions. BTW video is made by B. Krause from footage that we shot when the Galileo 7 was moved from Palm Springs CA to Akron OH, and shows some of the restoration work. Cpntrary to reports of its death it is still in existance. Hopefully, the buyer will complete the restoration and put it on display.
Where on hobby talk? Thats a big website.
@Mobius303 NOOOO! It can't be true! *shakes head*
@LifeWithStarTrek I do not have the shuttle and i don't know the owner. If you read the comments it looks like Carl30442 is the owner.
@ blunite545) Do have this item? OR know the party that has it? Been to the Hobby Talk website. The person on Hobby Talk will not respone to my questions. I sense it may be a scam.
I would have bought this in a heartbeat, WOULDN'T YOU TOO? ^_^
Man, some homeless guy could have lived in that thing for 30 years. I wonder what they did with the mock ups from the films and the later TV series.
This shuttlecraft could have been saved maybe years ago, in the 70's. But now there is so much damage and weatherized damage that it would be like building a new prop from the ground up - so if you want a shuttlecraft Galileo 7 just get out your wallet.
Sad sorry here, bit
How much is the REAL owner asking for the galileo 7? I need to know...This is NOT a joke! I'm asking a simple question all I need is a simple answer please.
it was first given away by Gene Roddenberry, then bought for $3,000, then bought again for $17.000.00.then sold again, for auction $75,000.00, and then took $100.000.00 to restore it..
@athompson7 I am not a troll just a concerned fan who knows some of the facts about this prop that was stored here in Akron, ohio for a time. It was stored for a time at a sandblasting company and when they could not get in touch with the owner of the prop they had it junked. The owner told several of us the wood had rotted and it was a pile of junk wood and metal.
Which it was.
How much are you asking for the galileo 7 ? I need to know a price range. I need to know honestly the damaged and how much is left of the galileo ? Do you have a parts list.... I will have to check with a freight company on shipping. I also need to see Galileo 7 up-close to decide what a fair price would be. You want to talk?
😂

@radioflyer68911 It may not be " The Spirit Of St Louis " but... should still be in a museum or perhaps the Smithsonian. A part of American history, really....
Yes it should be in a museum but hopefully its in caring hands. But there is hope. A little google search reveals that apparently this shuttlecraft is intact and in private hands and quite possibly fully restored. It was last seen in Ohio 2005. Hopefully someone has seen it since then and can state it's current condition.
