Connor McDavid is the best in the NHL but how does his style of scoring impact development for young players?
We can and should learn from McDavid but we shouldn't focus only on his highlights. We need to study players like Pavelski, Panarin, and Pastrnak to develop adaptable ways to score.
My name is Xander and I started Conscious Hockey to help the player I once was. Struggling with decision making, with a lot of good physical skill. If you need help with your game book a call with me!. Thank you for watching!

Good info
Also at a lower level defenders will act to soon so be patience when possible
Point is such an underated player
He’s top 10
Where tf is middlestadt now wtf disappears for 30 games good lord
Thank you this was very helpful I will try to apply this into my game!
You have no idea what you're talking about
The hating is outrageous
Dude all of your videos have been so helpful. I'm a dude that got back into playing beer league because my kids are also playing hockey in mites/squirts and all of the psychology behind the movements is a huge advantage. Thanks man and keep up the good work!
For me, I'm not familiar with ice hockey, and I'm just getting into it, so I don't know anything about this, but the goalies look kinda funny with all the stuff they wear 😅 like a big marshmallow 😂❤
Wrong. The goalie didn’t flinch on either fake. Stayed with him through the back hand move just didn’t get the glove down on it.
Good goalies barely ever flinch. What this move did was activate the goalie’s mind against a shot earlier, adding that extra thought and making the reaction slightly less natural
@@tuttifrutti8576id argue your full of shit, no chance you can prove this extra thought you speak of made him move unnaturally. What we can see is how he moved, and that looked hella natural to me
Mixing it up works
The first part is right 😂😂
Wonder how effective a fake that is when you KNOW he’s going to shoot it 😂 especially right now…
It's not about if he's shooting it's about where the shot is coming from, when, and where it's going. It's not so much about where the shooter is but where the puck is after the handle. If your view was from the vantage point of the puck, that stick handle would change the net that you could see behind the goalie. The goalie has to read those changes and react only when the shot is made. This is how goalies are beaten with shots that seem extremely "simple"
Great call
interesting, but I'm not sure I follow
Really well broken down and explained
i make the poo in the toilet

McDavid needs a touch of space to fulfill him with his speed. And he needs a teammate like Draisaitl who is able to pass the puck in his stick by fullspeed so that he's not loosing any tempo... Hockey is for all a team sport!
He needs more backing from his team. He is so talented.
Bedard

Biggest crybaby in hockey history that hasn’t won anything
Not bigger than you
Can you do something similar but for defense
Yes! Next video is about Quinn Hughes
Why did it have to be against the oilers in the game my hometeam
Look how much room upstairs on these goalies that all go down to their knees.Modern players are just real bad shooters they coldl be scoring a lot more goals if they just pay attention to how bad the goalies are...aka knee droppers.
Barzal
Good advice but doesn't work from the "wrong foot".
O captain my captain 🫡
“Study”
Here is the real secret to goal scoring: An NHL goaltender takes approximately 1/2 a second to 1 second to reposition himself. If you do not get a shot off within a half a second, you are not going to score on an NHL goaltender. Mike Bossy was the master. He got off the quickest one-timers I've ever seen and scored 50-60 goals a year.
Modern players are really dumb we were doing this 40 years ago I called it "against the grain".It can be used for passing setting up a pass and baiting in defense to attack you opening up a lane for an oncoming fellow player.
This is a great breakdown!
Thank you!
easily the best to ever lace up skates
Gordie Howe, Bobby Orr, Wayne Gretzky, and Mario Lemieux would like a word.....🙄
@@richardmahfouz4392 Talent-wise? U think they dont know its true?? The game progresses, I am not crapping on any legends here.
While your analysis is decent, it is not fully correct. Bedard recognizes that his teammate (Teravainen, #86) keeps going straight while entering the offensive zone. That is what pushed the D backwards, opening up space in the middle.
if u wanna score more goals, play against the red wings. (im a wings fan lol)
I play only against the red wings
I use move to❤
It is called deception players/shooters often have zero deception and just shoot right into the goalie pads or tries to make a very low % pass through sticks.Too many modern players are dumb players but boy can they skate lol.
preserving space is probably the biggest thing I've learned, I find it's especially effective when I'm being shadowed by a dman in the O zone. learning to read teammates body language and popping into space only when they can make a play to you in that area came easily after that
can I get your autograph now before you are a famus nhl player?
Glad it helped!
Sounds like you wasted hours of your life
nobody thinks in quadrants
I love seeing videos on how to progress but like every guy on youtube they gate keep knowledge by making you pay extra for their website or subscription. The channel that has the knowledge and doesnt charge is the one that will blow up ultimately. It would be nice for the kids who dont have money to pay for in person one on one training to have access to knowledge as well. Just food for thought.
