Idler Arm Part Model in SolidWorks
This video shows you how to efficiently model the Idler Arm part file by creating symmetry in the sketch and in the first feature by using the mid-plane End Condition to capture the design intent. This places the model axis on the origin with the front and right symmetry planes running through it. The strategy of creating Boss features before Cut features to prevent the possibility of later added boss features from violating cut geometry in the model is demonstrated as is the facility of using the roll back facility in the FeatureManager Design Tree to reorder features if required. Mouse Gestures and the Right Mouse Button menu are demonstrated throughout for efficient modelling with minimal mouse movement. You can use Mass Properties to check and compare the weight of your final part with that in the video as a good indicator that your model has been created in the correct manner.

Creating an AutoCAD Template Stage 2
Переглядів 5843 роки тому
In this video we show you how to create standard text styles and how to then use these to add text to a Title Block using both the Single Line and Multiline tools. The Filename and Date are inserted as Fields whose properties will then update when the template is used to create a drawing. The first angle projection symbol is created and saved as a Block and added to the title block. A logo is a...
Creating a Template in AutoCAD Stage 1
Переглядів 6523 роки тому
In this first stage video of how to create a template in AutoCAD, we show you how to change the drawing Limits, snap and grid settings. You will learn how to create layers with different line types, lineweights and colours and how to display these layers in your quick access toolbar (QAT) in AutoCAD. How to use the Page Setup Manager to modify your layout to configure it for colour PDF output a...

This video demonstrates the main features and tools of the AutoCAD interface. The Application menu, the Ribbon tabs and panels, how to show the pull down menus and the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) are all discussed. The importance of the command line in interacting with AutoCAD and how to use and customise the status bar in AutoCAD are also demonstrated. Turning on and off the File and Layout Tab...
Body Symmetry Exercise
Переглядів 2624 роки тому
This video shows you how to create thin feature extrusions from open sketch profiles where depth and thickness dimensions are captured and where internal sketch vertices can be automatically filleted. The exercise makes maximum use of symmetry in the sketch and symmetry in the feature (Mid Plane end condition). The full round fillet option to create a tangent surface between three adjacent face...
Motion Study Animation in SolidWorks - An Introduction
Переглядів 4614 роки тому
This video shows you how to use the animation wizard tool in a SolidWorks Motion Study to animate an assembly rotating, exploding and collapsing. In addition the video shows you how to manually add key frames to change the camera views and the model orientation. Using key frames to change the appearance of a part in an assembly and how to control key frame interpolation modes are also demonstra...
Exploded Views in SolidWorks - An Introduction
Переглядів 3364 роки тому
This video shows you how to create a basic exploded view of an assembly in SolidWorks. You will learn how to name and reorder the explode steps so that you can create a logical explode sequence, and also how to add the Explode Line Sketch to your exploded view.
Cutaway Configurations in SolidWorks

This video shows you how to use the SolidWorks Toolbox Add-in to add fasteners to your standalone projects. You will learn how to configure your Toolbox Parts so that they appear correctly in a Bill of Materials and also how to correctly save Toolbox parts to your particular Assembly Project folder.
Sheet Metal Top Hat Drawing
Переглядів 6474 роки тому
This video shows you how to create a two sheet drawing file of the Sheet Metal top hat part we modelled in the previous video. The dimensioned orthographic views with detail views and the flat pattern drawing are created. The use of the auto arrange dimension tool to improve the display of inserted model dimensions and how to insert the Cut List Properties of a Sheet Metal part into a drawing a...
Sheet Metal Top Hat Model
Переглядів 1,3 тис.4 роки тому
This video shows users how to create a Sheet Metal Top Hat shaped profile using SolidWorks. The modelling strategy of using the Jog tool options to insert bends that correctly and robustly capture the required design intent dimensions if the material thickness and the bend radius are changed are key aspects of this video. The simple hole tool and sketched circles and cut extrude with the link t...
Modelling a Curved Door Handle - Stage 2
Переглядів 1,5 тис.4 роки тому
This is video 2 of 2 on how to create a solid model of a curved door handle. This video shows you how to create guide curves using the pierce relation, and how these curves can then be used to control lofted surfaces. The use of a construction surface is demonstrated, as well as that of the Split Line tool to divide a surface into two faces to provide separate loft profiles. Use of the Face Fil...
Modelling a Curved Door Handle - Stage 1
Переглядів 1,8 тис.4 роки тому
This is video 1 of 2 on how to create a solid model of a curved door handle. This video shows you how to create the underlying curves beginning with a reference sketch and two sketch pictures. An overview of the modelling strategies involved is provided as well as showing you how to create the 3D projected curve from two spline based sketches. Creating the silhouette edge on the symmetry plane ...

I think Anthony is Guru of Solidworks who can turn your bad habits into good habits in terms of Solidworks. As I have attended his lectures I know how effective his methods are in terms of drafting and creating a robust part.

@antohnyRynne: Do you have experience with through-points vs by-poles style splines? i.e. I wanted to redraw a by-poles spline from Siemens NX in Solidworks (which can only do through-points)

some info. at 1:07, it can be SEEN that there is force (not centered) Misalignment, where the displacer and its linkage interact. it should be understood that an engine that has No provision for power take-off, is a Do Nothing. googletranslate

some info. at 7:50, hot-side rod-end pivot is a Joke. compare a clevis-type rod-end connector. the amount of dead space, in the cold process, Should be MINIMAL. in othe words, the port should NOT extend into the cold cylinder. googletranslate www.motorsandrotors.co/images/clevis.jpg
