I make noises
a quick one to get rid of the writer's block
my most natural style of music: touhou
I thought it would be cool to layer the piano with a synth and it gave it a sort of techy-ish vibe. The synth is called Dexed and it's a free FM synth. I have nowhere near the level of expertise to understand how to design a sound in that thing, but it has nice presets :)
I didn't really put as much effort towards mixing this one bc i kinda just wanted to make a composition, but it's just piano so it's not too bad

the vfx make it sound better i swear Before I talk about the song itself, I'd like to plug my game-jam game that I worked on for the GMTK jam. You play as a robot that climbs a mountain and you have to switch out your abilities and stuff. I did it with a friend of mine, and they did the art while I did the music -meaning taking a song from a previous game project because I didn't have enough ti...
boss battle against that random npc you had no idea was going to be a boss

ah yes. the barista that has like 5 lines of dialogue. they use latte magic. of course I thought I'd give breakcore another shot as well as try doing some percussion things. When writing for this type of jazz I learned you can kinda just put random percussion things in there, and if you put them at the right spots they just work somehow. The thing I didn't think would sound good was layering th...
something groovy to usher in the next great depression
Переглядів 5 тис.2 місяці тому
pretty sure that's how we did it last time iirc I thought it would be funny if I made this using entirely free* software (which means not using the one plugin that I've spent money on), so I placed all of my faith in Ample Guitar M Lite bc it's literally the best free virtual instrument. I took a decent amount of inspiration from Sinti jazz at least for the guitar part. There's some other simil...

day 3 of making literally every genre apparently. the next one will probably be a bit groovier A lot of this was experimentation with stuff like harmony and also mixing techniques, so I kept it simple as far as instruments go. I'm sort of new to dissonant stuff, but I'm pretty happy with how the dissonant chords turned out around 0:30. For mixing, I tried layering the piano with the reverb from...

a short little waltz i made really late at night. watch at 3 am for full effect I made this in Reaper using labs soft piano (hehehe) and a violin and clarinet from the alpine project. I've realized it's basically My Castle Town from Deltarune bc it uses the same exact piano plugin and it's in 3/4 and it has strings but oh well. There were some issues with the audio on my last few videos althoug...
i made a breakcore(?) song but it has piano and violin so idk if it's really breakcore
Переглядів 2,2 тис.3 місяці тому
but it uses the amen break™ so it's pretty close anyway I made this in Reaper using Noire Pure piano, a couple of synth choirs and the violin from the Apline Project. The violin technically requires you to buy the full version of Kontakt to use it, but you can just use the free version of Kontakt and refresh it when the 15 minutes is up lol. This is my first time doing stuff in this genre, so I...
End of the Line - Hookbot OST
Переглядів 5913 місяці тому
I think originally we were going to go for a calmer, more serene outro, but the lead dev liked the idea enough that we went for something jazzy instead. The other composer (linked below) suggested that the song have leitmotifs from the other songs in the ost, so I did my best to add most of them. I kind of had to squeeze the battle theme at the very end, but you can still tell that it's there. ...
Distant Sunrise - Hookbot OST

I wrote this song for @waweezer4584's Hookbot. You should go play it: www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/937182 I initially was going for a Celeste vibe with this song, which mainly meant me starting with a bunch of synths and a rising arpeggio. Not sure if it really sounds like Celeste now, but it still fits the part of the game it's intended for. I did a lot more automation than I usually would d...
Machines of War - Hookbot OST

I made this song for @waweezer4584's platformer game, Hookbot (www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/937182) This is the very first song I started making for the project. It's pretty far outside of what I usually do, and a lot of it was experimental. I tried to go for a vaguely Doom-ish sounding vibe for it with the distorted guitars and harsh synths, since this is for a warzone-like area. The weird s...
End Effector - Hookbot OST
Переглядів 5833 місяці тому
Title theme for Hookbot by @waweezer4584 (www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/937182). Play it it's fun. I felt like the game needed a groovy title screen. There's not much I have to say about it since it's pretty generic and short lol. But I did put some effort towards finding a decent name for it. Apparently an end effector is what you call the thing on the end of a robot arm, which kinda fits a g...
the only reason this sounds remotely like a christmas song is because it has bells
Переглядів 1,3 тис.9 місяців тому
I mean it doesn't even sound christmasy even with the bells but still... I made this song in Reaper using Kontakt's Noire Pure for the pianos. The bells were created in Vital using a Christmas bell tutorial by @EricBowman. The sine waves were also made in Vital just by adding some chorus, reverb, and compression to a basic sine wave. I also did some other stuff with Valhalla Supermassive and Oz...

This is a remix of song #1 for AZALI's remix contest. @AZALI00013 The piano is the soft piano from Spitfire Labs. I just used Vital Synth for the sine with some added reverb and chorus. The DAW I use is Garageband.
Marzuku wants to know your location
You smashed my pots for the last time
_You enter the elevator, only to see the barista trying to get to the battle location. Let's just get this over with..._
Good stuff!
the thing is even from the start of the fight you're nervous because wait why is it playing a unique song instead of the regular battle theme…?
giving me some unorthodox accounting vibes
Make this into a game please
What it feels stepping on grass
This would be grinst a pastry chef.
I adore this
I feel like all this needs is a smidge of supporting percussion to be really quite great. I like it as is, mind.
grunkle Stans fight theme. Ford is playing on the piano for him and helping him out.
For some odd reason I can see this playing as the background music for a Plants Vs Zombies level or a The Battle Cats stage (more so the former)
*Cuppa Joe is wired* *Cuppa Joe pours hot water all over the floor* *Omoris Defense fell, Aubreys Defense fell, Hero's Defense fell, Kel's Defense Fell* *Cuppa Joe messes up Aubreys Order..... Intentionally* *Cuppa Joe is ECSTATIC* *Aubrey is ANGRY*
Heavy Omori vibes ngl.
“Hm? Ah… you’re here about that rare ingredient you need, aren’t you? I’d be willing to sell it… if you indulge me.” >I’d do anything. I’m not that desperate… “Excellent. Thank you for this… No holding back, now. *P E R S O N A !”*
I first thought of a barista boss battle too, but imagine some revived humanoids trying to eat the amygdala, among other brain parts of a non revived himan, whilst the human is being defended by mutated mother nature.
These videos are always so well done! That's it, that's all I can say. Well done!
An endless/1-10 hour loop of this would be sick
“Hey, look. I could give less of a crap about the customers you killed. Less work for me.” “But my coworkers? And on the night shift too?” “Yeah, you deserve this.” - - - *BARISTA* challenges you! Stats ATK: 800 DEF: 3000 HP: 250 “You had to fuck with the retail worker.”
Oh, like that aggravated shop keeper that is annoyed that you kept going in and out of his store without buying anything. I will also probably use that for my next RPG animation but I don’t post yet
god... what is this genre called
I feel like this fight would be against a librarian or a gardener who is blind due to a spiky plant.
I read the title as something that’s groovy to create the next Great Depression.
This gives me undertale yellow deal em out vibes.
Charon in Hades
Ngl I might make a boss fight after this theme.
So in otherwords, Midra.
"OH FRICK I MADE A MISTAKE IM SORRYYYY I WSDNT PREPARED FOR THIS-"

You are now fighting: Brutal Barista.
I hope everyone realizes that before it was popular, this would have applied to megalovania and the sans boss fight.
dont like the audio-video desync..........
Gonna save this so I can play it when the players in my DnD campaign inevitably decide to start shit.
"you are a clever one, detective... and it seems you know more than you should about this coffee shop of mine. so sadly, it has to be this way." *boss part of the music kicks in 0:30

I immediately thought of Everhood
i thought the thumbnail was a picture of a street with mountains like where you would fight them and i thought this was gameplay footage of them fighting them
Uhm, nope. That's a cacophony. Pass.
You have some amazing work in this channel. Wish they were on Spotify so I could add them to my playlists!
i'm currently checking out different music distribution services, so hopefully i'll be get my stuff on there eventually. really glad you like my music!
I like the idea that we all have a boss theme inside of us…
where do you get that drum from i also wanna make that cool background DNB but i just cant get the drums right
i got them from rhythm-lab.com. the collection i'm using is called "Amen Break's vol. 1" (which is free) and the one i used is the 9th one. theres some other nice breaks in there too and theres at least 3 other amen break volumes on the website. i also used a slicer plugin to map each hit to its own midi note
