What do they taste like ?were you able to cook any by the riverside or at your csmp site ?

I was there the 17th through 23rd and caught about 20-25 trout total, rainbows and one brook! We stay at koa and have for 30 years I ate out at native brew and a peanut trout was 30 bucks so I caught over 600 dollars worth of fish! Glad you had a great time

Great catch! I didn't know it was possible to catch a Jack Crevalle that size at the Mountain Pleasant Pier. What bait did you use? Is it possible to catch a King Mackerel from that pier?

Nice Video Jerry, Shad fishing is Big in Eastern NC , my first for the year was on February the 10th. All Americans that day, then the next week it was all Hickories in the same place. then the next week all Hickories. 2 of the 3 are out on video. I have caught Americans in the Santee but got skunked across from Arrowhead. Mack

Why the kahle hooks? I had a buddy that swore by them for flounder. He caught some but I didn't see any advantage over offset J hooks, but I always use smaller ones than most people. Have you tried jig heads with live bait for flounder? I've seen it work in Florida when I was growing up there. Now I live in VA near the Chesapeake and I've fished a lot since I got here in July. Being stuck on the beach and piers and being new to the area means I haven't caught a ton of keepers but I'm catching flounder, trout and redfish some. I wish the flounder were around more, and I'm jealous of your sheepshead from shore. I don't know a spot to do that. I got a kayak and made friends with guys with yaks so we go on the weekends if the weather cooperates. It's pretty cool to fish under the flight path of fighters leaving Langley AFB. Looks like y'all have a great fishery from shore or piers. That's awesome. It's pretty strict here, a lot of great spots are blocked or have signs saying no fishing or crabbing. I hope you're more free there. Cool video, nice fish.

The boaters here seem to be industrial grade stupid. Been here many times and the dipshits seem like they want to ride up onto the sand.
