    Not a “gotcha” question but how are you playing without anything coming out of anything? Literally no outputs from your mains, booth or anything . 🤷🏽‍♂️

    • @DJTeddyJetts

      All you need to record a dj mix this way is headphones and a laptop. I dont need mains. I was mixing in my headphones and recording the mains directly out of the serato software. 🙂 my son was sleeping in the next room over so I had to be quiet. I actually recorded the audio and video separately then had to sync them up in a video editor. That was a great question. Thanks for watching!

    not a big RNB fan but LOOOOVE the Rane One. I got mine and think it's the coolest controller due to it's classic design and excellent build quality. Hardware effect would be better but it's no a deal beaker. No i don't work for Rane hehe. I am learning how to Dj and will hopefully upload a Tech house Mix soon! go Rane One DJ's

    • @DJTeddyJetts
      @DJTeddyJetts 3 місяці тому

      Agree 100% about the Rane one. They really did fumble the ball by not adding hardware fx but like you said, not a deal breaker and they made up for it with every single other thing about the controller being absolutely excellent quality! Sadly, I've had to sell mine since making this video due to economic hard times but when I recover, I would totally buy another Rane One again. If not just go ahead and upgrade to the Rane 12s. Hopefully Rane comes out with a motorized follow up to the One. I was really disappointed that the Rane Four went back to static platters. Oh well. Welcome to the DJ Journey and good luck to you! One of the absolute funnest hobby/side gigs I ever made the choice to start! Ill subscribe to your channel and be on the look out for your Tech House mix! Rock on brother! 🤘

      It’s not just him. Almost every DJ does it because there’s nothing to do between mixes. They feel that they have to look “busy” in order to not look “boring”. In real life, nothing goes on between transitions. You could add effects and scratch during a song but you’re just taking away from the music and annoying the audience.

    Awesome mix!! I've been wanting to post my mixes on UA-cam, but every time I do, I get it taken off. Some of the tracks you're using are the same ones on my mixes. What are you doing differently?

    • @DJTeddyJetts
      @DJTeddyJetts 8 місяців тому

      Thank you! I have actually had a few mixes that were taken off when I first started, but I was mixing music videos then... now, are you sure your mixes are being taken off? People often confuse a copyright claim and a copyright strike. UA-cam does not mind if you make music mixes, you just have to waive your right to monetize the videos and the copyright owners will gain any monetization they earn...which is fair. But I get this question all the time and I find that other people who post music, they see that red exclamation point and automatically think they are in trouble. But you only get in trouble if you attempt to make money from other people's music. Otherwise you simply forfeit any possible profits. Also it depends on your country. Most of my mixes are banned in countries like Russia and China. But overall it's fair game. You will run into an occasional song that will get your mix taken down...usually strict copyright owners like Prince or even some Ariana Grande, but for the most part, I have been allowed to post whatever I want. And even though my mixes are not monetizable...the subs and views they have earned did in fact allow me to enable monetization on future videos...which is why I have not posted anymore mixes as I want to develop ideas to make videos on this channel that will actually earn me some money. If that makes sense. Appreciate the love and I hope this explanation answers any questions you may have about posting mixes.

    I have a question? 🤔does the serato program help with blending mixes with the same bpm transition without using the pitch sliders or do you need to still use them? The reason why I would like to know is because the poineer ddj rev 5 has a auto bpm transition and I'm torn between getting the rev 5 or the rane one, please let me know your opinion on this matter and thank you very much 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

    • @ignoranceisnotatrend4669
      @ignoranceisnotatrend4669 9 місяців тому

      And I also noticed that your not using the pitch control sliders during your hot mix

    • @DJTeddyJetts
      @DJTeddyJetts 8 місяців тому

      Hello, sorry for the delay. For the few stems mixes I posted, I admittedly used sync. I do use the pitch sliders to regulate some transitions but it is subtle in this particular mix. I actually prefer to not use Sync and usually I am manually mixing all of my songs. But for the sake of simplicity while I was learning how to use stems, I enabled sync to ease into the process. As far as choosing a controller, I would definitely recommend going for something with a motorized platter. Particularly if you are mixing hip hop type genres. If you mix more edm, I would recommend static platters. But yes I do use my pitch sliders but I also have them set very high so I only need subtle movements out of them to adjust my tempos.

    • @DJTeddyJetts
      @DJTeddyJetts 11 місяців тому

      Thank you! It's gonna be difficult to be able to tell you why you may be experiencing sound issues, but there's a good chance that however you have your set up, typically direct audio connections to your computer are gonna need some sort of boost, as most current audio cords are meant to transfer a pretty low signal. For this video I used an external mixer directly to my laptop and into OBS where I definitely had to test and tweak the sound until I felt it was right. Just watching your levels on everything to get them to the sweet spot on all of your equipment and THEN finding the sweet spot for your recording interface, and THEN find the sweetspot in your headphones. Hope that helps. Just keep experimenting or researching different ways to set your gear up.

      Yall are so dumb about this. I CAN manually beatmatch. Its 2 decks using stems, I only have sync on so I can change the track and drop it within 3 seconds in more transitions. Its not to "cheat" at beatmatching. I still have to make sure everything lines up sonically. But this was a stems mix. I can do it but it just seemed unnecessary since I was trying to do fast transitions between beats or a capellas. Funny how people with NO content always have the most to say. Go back to cornhub and leave me alone.

    • @d.w.strangeman4963
      @d.w.strangeman4963 Рік тому

      No need for that bs, I was joking... also, with no content is true, however, in 93 I was the youngest DJ to ever play the Sanctuary in England and consider the late, great Frankie Knuckles as a personal friend. I wasn't trying to be disrespectful, read my comments after that. Also, I never said it was a cheat as I know you would have had to have rewritten all the beat grids Serato.
