    Does the S-10 use this same module? My problem is intermittent but when it happens both the ABS and regular brake idiot lights come on simultaneously. They also go out simultaneously.

    • @davelowe1963
      @davelowe1963 2 дні тому

      Not sure if it is the same model ABS module but I believe it is. I thinks S-10 modules are under the hood and much easier to access. Mine is a Kelsey-Hayes brand. Both my ABS and Parking brake lights also came on at the same time just like yours. Thanks for the comment and good luck!

    Good tip to use flux, and cleaning your iron (tin then wipe, sometimes shocking it with a wet sponge) You should remove solder 1st though, using wicking braid and your iron. Place the braid on the joint and heat/push with the iron until the old solder wicks up into the braid. Also you don't want a ton of solder, that's actually a weaker connection. It's not bigger the blob, better the job. The joints should be clean, clear and concaved. Clean/clear mean shiny and mirror like. And be concave up the lead.

      I had tested my wheel sensors and they were fine. Also, abs light came on after driving a while and I believe heating up the solder joints. Just guessing, but I believe if a wheel sensor is bad, abs light probably will come on when hitting a bump. Mine was consistently turning on after about 5 miles of driving on the highway. Hope this helps and good luck. Thanks.

    • @davelowe1963
      @davelowe1963 Місяць тому

      No other issue with the ABS module. There are other reasons that cause the ABS and Brake light to come on including, a bad wheel sensor and sometimes a bad ground. This video just shows the repair for a very common ABS problem and what fixed the issue for my particular vehicle. Thanks!

    Great video my man! I have a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe AWD and when i come to a stop i get this creaking/clunk/thud sensation. Only when i stop. This most likely the culprit. Question: do you notice the clunking when you try and twist the driveshaft with your hands? Or is it only when in motion? Thanks!!

    • @davelowe1963
      @davelowe1963 2 місяці тому

      The symptoms I had that was the cause for this repair, was that I would feel the clunk kind of under my seat, only when stopping or accelerating. If you can feel it just by twisting the driveshaft, it may be a u-joint, Pinion gear or rear differential problem. This video really addresses the fact that the drive shaft slip yoke sticks because of lack of lubrication. Hope this help! Thanks for the comment!

If you don’t want to do the soldering, I do know there are companies that will swap out a repaired module for a fee if you send them the old one. You just have to do the labor of removing the unit. nice video ! however, NEVER use solder paste on electronic components !!! It's acid based, and will corrode the connections in a few years....use rosin core solder (okay) or liquid rosin based flux (in a little bottle with brush, like fingernail polish) It's active when heated, and inert when cools. Dissolves & dilutes with Alcohol...can lean board after soldering with toothbush dipped in Alcohol after soldering....or just leave it be
