Nice work bro!
We called this truck the MCV
Nice lesson for all the younger generations. And make sure you don't cut what the cutters are not listed for.
get the grinder!
@@yoafofbread wazzup yoa we don’t always carry a grinder, so the best way to teach young men is to show them some old school ways and later promote to battery tools ..👍😎
Currently in the military and looking to get into the trade whenever I get out. I love and respect what you and crews do out there! LADWP is definitely on my bucket list 💪
@@nateguzman9574 wazzup Nate keep me posted and when your getting ready to get out message me so we can talk about your plans and hopefully new career
Glad you’re back. The videos are great. It’s a small world. I recently watched some of your old videos and realize I worked with fernie in northern cali. (Marina to be exact.). We both hand dug holes.

Where have u been
Had a torn meniscus, thank God I am back thank you for asking 😂👍👍🙏😎
@@linemanundergroundworld4854 Glad to see you back!! I was wondering why I hadn't seen anything for a while. (Tony as well..) I saw one of those chopper trucks up close when I lived in Hawthorne, the crew was pulling and chopping bad cable by the old mall. It had lots of blowouts in it, and one section was actually still attached to a rack with live cables in an unmapped vault! I was right by the truck when I heard it strain and I got away quick.
@@mxslick50 wazzup mxs glade your ok and thank you 👍👍😎
@@linemanundergroundworld4854 Wazzup! And thank you. To clarify, I don't work as a lineman (just a regular old sparky, now retired), but have extensively studied power transmission and distribution. (Sorry for the long story to follow, but you'll like it. ) The area foreman down there hated me because I knew "too much" about their system. That particular cable failed six times before they finally decided to replace the entire run. On the last three faults, I called in the outages with vault numbers. (I could tell the general location by the echo from the explosions.) He was pissed and tried to accuse me of opening manholes and vault covers. (I weight 155 tops and have no upper body strength.) After a different cable fault outage that went through a similar pattern, (after each of four repairs another section would fail) and around 10 hours I went to the riser to the overhead to see how much longer the outage would be. They were talking about bringing generators and mobile transformers, yada yada. I saw a riser on the same pole, same primary voltage from the substation to the west. I suggested to the one cool guy on the crew, why not use hotline jumpers and temp in the feed from that west sub. The field engineer overheard me, and asked why I thought that. I said if the existing load on that feed was low enough, why not use it? Well the foreman I mentioned earlier was pissed and kicked me out of the area. I left and about 45 mins. later my power came back on. Went back to the riser pole and guess what was there? About a month later I got a phone call from the CEO of that poco, he was offering me a job. Asked him how he knew who I was, he told me my relative (a business acquaintence of the CEO) told him about my contacts with the area foreman and my solution to the riser situation. I declined the job because I was (still am) deathly afraid of heights.
@@mxslick50 wazzup Mx that is super awesome story what happened and the great idea you were trying to help them with and finally doing what you suggested and especially really WORKING!!!!!! WooooooW 👏👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌🙌👍😎😎
