My Bronco Tried to Kill Me - Bronco Restoration Part 4
Hood Flew Up on My ’66 Bronco at 50 MPH! Time to Fix It and Make It Safer
Had a heart-stopping moment when the hood on my 1966 Ford Bronco flew up while I was driving, completely blocking my view and sending me off the road. Luckily, I walked away, but it was a wake-up call-this old rig needs some serious safety upgrades.
In this video, I get to work patching up the floor, installing secondary hood pins so this doesn’t happen again, and adding a roll cage with three-point seatbelts to keep me safer in the future.

Clever! I would also bury that wooden beam running along the bottom of the deck posts. That's a great spot for embers to accumulate and ignite. And make the sprinklers spray full circle so the house is also protected. Obviously all the chairs would have to go inside the house. I might also be worried about that nest of pipes under the breaker box. That's all flammable and if some leaves get blown in there and then embers land... Same with the new switch. It won't catch the house on fire but it would be a nuisance if it burned up. Pop a big olive oil can over it. It would be good to screen all the eaves and vents and under decks to keep embers out. And definitely whack those two bushes up against the house. Live vegetation can actually be a good fire break (contrary to popular belief) and it can catch embers before they get to the house, but it should be away from the house to protect it from heat and direct flames.

The reason your copper coil didn’t work is that it just wasn’t nearly long enough. It needs to be many many coils. That’s barely two coils.

Love your video. I have been watching fence video after fence video and yours is the first to actually show how you put in a deadbolt lock on a gate. Perfect presentation. Thank you. I will add a whole new dimension to my fence gate installation business. If you had a "$" section on your UA-cam I would contribute to it. Thanks for the class from beginning to end.

I love the wheels! I'm going to upgrade my stock rims soon, but probably just keep the stock wheel and tire size. You should consider getting rear inner fender liners. It hides the bed-box visible inside the fender and just makes everything black. Keeps mud out of the innards too. Cheap and easy, good material for a future video! -Marc
