Yes, Marco is amazing! His performance is as deep as a lyrical tenor is capable of putting into a song and also brings touches of aggressive drives, characteristic of metal, with a clean voice with a very beautiful and low timbre as well. I loved your reaction! =) To hear more of this kind of thing from Marco, I suggest the songs "The Islander", "While Your Lips Are Still Red", "Taikatalvi", "The siren" (with Tarja), "7 days to the wolves" with Nightwish. .. "Ghosts of me", "Guardian Angel And Things That Crawl at Night (in the live video Heavy Metal On Live), "Follow me into madness" with Tarot... I love both of their voices, but for my money, Floor is incomparable her voice always has incredible depth.

This is a very special song even for Nightwish. It is the honest account of far more self-hatred than self-pity by Tuomas, so delicately delivered by Floor. The band members do a number of unusual things like playing and singing on sitting down on the drum podium or Floor finishing it all with three repeats, not Nightwish standard four. So beautiful scene, lyrics and music emphasized by not being performed live no more.

Sharon might be the metal queen of falsetto, but Simone has this angelic head voice, which has both great power when needed and can be light and delicate.

Marko's been a metal lead vocalist since 1984 or so, he's had quite some time to learn to hit the notes right from the start 😀. But I understand Floor also coached Marko whole on tour to further push the technique.

The Poet and the Pendulum was written after firing Tarja the original singer. She was the face of Nightwish at the time, and Tuomas (Keyboards) wrote this and considered her a muse to many of the songs he had written at that point. They had also grown up in the same city and knew each other since early childhood. All the band members decided together to fire her for acting too much of a diva And her husband & Manager was stepping way outta bounds concerning the band business He always wanted more money , only big paying show but the band did it for the love of music and there fans . According to all the band members, Tarja was missing lots of rehearsals and would not even travel with the band anymore. Tuomas was painted as the devil by many fans, and went through a deep depression. He even considered ending the band . He wrote The Poet and the Pendulum at that time, and actually kills himself in the song. He said he killed himself in the song at the 10:00 time stamp , as to kill the pain he was going through . To this day every time he plays it, it takes him back to those feelings, and shows on his face. In the last part, Mother and Father, words are said to him that his real mother said to him at that time of his deep depression. One part that touches me at the end when the guitarist Emppu and bassist Marko, the only other two involved with firing Tarja (that were still active with the band at the time of this show )were standing with Tuomas at the end in solidarity and love., NOTE : the 1st two words are (The End) and the last two words are (The Beginning) representing the end of the 1st era of Nightwish and the beginning of the next era

How do they do it. At least 6 years training, perfect pitch and practice. Floor has just released her first solo album after massive interest in the Netherlands from her appearance on the TV show Beste Zangers in 2019. You should check out her version of Shallow from the show and her duet with Henk Poort of the Phantom of the Opera. She did a solo tour of the Netherlands Pre and Post covid and to packed houses. Floor's training. Floor tweeted this If I hadn't had passionate music teachers in my high school, I might never have started singing. I was the bullied, insecure kid who dreamt of singing without knowing that I had a voice for it. "Because of my dedication at school I dared to crawl out of my shell and started to sing! I became more confident of myself and made friends and was forever in love with music. "Nothing is as wonderful and honest as making music together. Nothing connects as music can. Music education is therefore very important for many reasons. Floor's Wiki Bio Floor Jansen started studying music at the Dutch Rock Academy in 1999, entering the Conservatorium Tilburg three years later. She studied musical theatre and a year of opera. After After Forever split up she started teaching performing in her own course called Wanna be a Star?! She used to play the guitar, piano and flute and has completed several years of music studies. From the age of 16 all during this period she was fronting the the Band Apocalypse (later known as After Forever) in 1997 until they disbanded in 2009. She then did vocal coaching and formed her own band called Revamp which officially broke up in 2016 because of Floor's commitment to Nightwish. The Rock Academy in the Netherlands is an actual Bachelors degree, conservatory style, but focusing on the rock/pop industry.

I don't know if you have watched them, but if you haven't there are 3 or 4 masterclass videos at Floor's channel, in which she talks about different vocal techniques. I think those videos will complement you current training.

With Floor you can not go wrong, neither Nightwish. They are just amazing, even after years of listen to the same songs. Floor is out of this world.

If you're ever need a break form Nightwish (won't be anytime soon i assume) may i suggest the works of the Dutch artist Arjen Lucassen ? Especially the really rare live concerts are lot of fun. In the Universe show he was able to get together 16 Vocalists (15 of them lead singers in their own bands) and on the track "Everybody dies" you get to experience 8 of them already.
