Are we not supposed to use agate spatula for gic mixing?
اجيب منان الحاجات دي
aren't you supposed to put the powder into the water, not the other way around? to prevent air bubbles
No this way is fine. When you mix you can ensure no air bubbles and a good mix will prevent air bubbles x
I wish my gag reflex was this fine 😢😢
Can you put gic over another gic to fix it and does is need some sandpapering or just drying the area ?
When i taking impression i vomitted
Try to breathe in and out through your nose and wiggle your toes that normally takes your mind off the matter😁
Pointy end of the spatula? Does it actually matter? Pay attention to the amount you actually need ! Deciduous filing. Requires small amounts ! Any decent dental nurse can judge and mix the consistency needed for the said patient ! End of the day , you just cost your practice more money with your stages crap ! Get a grip hen
Isn't Alpron used for the management of DUWLs not for cleaning the aspirator tubing?
How do I paper chart a retained deciduous tooth?
Your gloves are tight
Hot day!
Hey, any tips on how to aspirate on upper anterior/crown preparation, I would like to know how to aspirate the dentist’s mirror during treatment
You could use a saliva ejector at the back of the mouth to collect any water; Also you can use the aspirator palatally underneath, you could also then move to the front on a angle. If you feel uncomfortable or you don’t feel like your collecting all the water from the back of the mouth; please never be scared to ask the dentist to stop, whilst you re-place the aspirator. And the last thing to mention is when doing any treatments always have a tissue in your hand to wipe the patient face if there is water particles over their skin. I hope that helps😊
❤
Cute patient
Mam why my bridge out when doctor installed... which cement is better
Should record the vestibules as well by stretch and massage the cheeks and lips
What is the meaning of 3*in BPE charting?
I use fibre glass for car repairs on my teeth.waterproof and strong as steels
😂
Your channel is very helpful. Thank you so much :)
One fatal mistake, taking impressions with patients head back will cause gagging
It varies from person to person
My first time getting impressions the dental assistant told me to put my head back and I gagged instantly and I couldn't breathe at all. It was also a big surprise and she just shoved it in my mouth. Afterwards, we tried again and the dentist advised I sit up straight up because that might be easier. I hate impressions. They're so goopy. They should just be a scan.
@@zg3671actually same thing happened to me and I hate it. I have to do it again soon for braces... (I'm so gonna die)
the position for loxer is wrong and you should ask the patient to move her tongue
Bad video. The amounts are specific amounts based on the manufacturer, not based on the consistency.
This is correct. And a spoon should always be used for the correct amounts. Please note this video is to help students understand mixing and should go through their own practice induction programme.
Beutifull
Thank you very much
for mandible we should be at 9 or 11 oclock and infront or side of the patient.
Thank you! Good point this will be good for the students to understand😁
wow so fast mixing.
Look at the flick of the wrist damn
This was very helpful thank you!
Hi I have a loose front tooth, is there a chance it will come out? Will it become even more wobbly??
It is better to use the spoon provided in the GIC box. And use as prescribed by the manufacturer. Altering the consistency alters results
Thank you ❤❤
hi, is theres a chance that your teeth will pull out shile doingg that especially its kinda moving. thank u!
Nothing to worry about.
Hello Ashley, no the teeth don’t normally fall out when you do the impression; The impression sets and the way you remove it out of the mouth it just done breaks the suction. In all the years I have been nursing and I’ve never seen a tooth come out with an impression even a really wobbly mobile tooth!!
come front side in lower impression makin..

So when you do a GI is it just one shade? Or do they come in different shades? x
If you buy the Chemfill GIC box it comes in 10 different shades. You can get cheaper versions which don’t come in shades or you can get premixed these days in a capsule which is light cured. It is always good to learn how to mix by hand😄
Put a plate in the fridge. Mix as usual but on the plate. Due to the low temperature the reaction is slowed allowing plenty of time to get a good mix. As soon as it goes in the tooth the temperature rises. I use washed and sterile fingers. It doesn't seem to stick to skin.
Interested in that one is a new one for me I’ll have to give that a go. I personally prefer glass slabs to the paper disposable pads!!
@@dentalnursingteachingtoolm7609 Nooo , you cant mix GIC on glass slab , it will interupt the chemical process of GIC .
you’re just cross contaminating everything, you’re touching.. you’re supposed to have a clean and dirty hand.. Your touching stuff before you’ve wiped it down with your left when, wiping it down using your wipe in your right hand, then touching the “wiped” down surface with your left hand that you had used to grab the dirty surfaces already??
Hello Abbey thank you for your comment. This video was merely to educate on not using too many wipes as per the title. I have seen some new nurses using 25 wipes after one checkup. Please see the full wipe down video. This one was a short video how to not use too many wipes. Happy to redo another one please bear in mind this is just guidance for anybody who wants to come into the industry to understand a role of a dental nurse.
You be surprise how people in dental field cross contamination when it comes to cleaning the room it’s pretty gross.
what's after?
Gypsum is cast i to the impression after it's allowed to sit and disinfected

The image is too offensive
no it isn’t😭🤣🤣🤣🤣
remind ya, i’m kinda, wet, run it down my vagina
Use agate spatula
Need to raise the patient up

hi sorry i had a question for every new wipe would it be encouraged to change gloves ?
You need to use your discretion and what treatment is taking place: Example: x1 why will be sufficient to do the headrest down the chair on the foot well this is your low risk areas. Then another wipe once all the instruments are cleared away you could do the light handles then the bracket table and the spittoon must always be done last then you change your gloves into the clinical waste bin this is when you can hand sanitise and re-glove. If it is a dental checkup then your set of gloves will be fine for clearing around unless they are heavy saturated from an invasive treatment; then after the treatment yes definitely remove your gloves before you clean down. Please also see the other video for wiping down correctly. Please note this particular video was also done to enable nurses not to be using too many wipes. However if the treatment is invasive you would need to use more wipes throughout.
I thought the same. Would not the bacteria etc get on your gloves since you touch the objects?
Please take this video down. It's not the correct way to wipe down. You're spreading everything everywhere.
Hi and thank you for your comment!! This video was done sometime ago to help nurses during the lockdown agreed I probably need to do an up-to-date Covid one. And just to note this video was just an add-on to encourage nurses not to use too many wipes! This was more about trying to be efficient. Do you look at the other wiping down video you’ll see the difference😁
@@dentalnursingteachingtoolm7609 i have seen other videos and I can't say I've come across a video where it ticked all the boxes yet. We can't do short cuts when it comes to cross contamination. The only way you can cut down on wiping is to cover the entire surface so you're not touching the surface other wise please don't use one wipe for multiple surfaces. When it comes to healthcare short cuts is not the answer.
Flush the lines/suction with alpron and warm water in the morning?
Hello yes both morning and night. This flushes through all the bacteria and debris and stops the buildup of bacteria and viruses. Also running the lines morning and night with water prevent legionnaires disease building up. It is also a good idea to suck water through the aspirator after every patient who has had an aerosol treatment.
I need a vid about how to be this fast 🥺😂
😂 practice practice!!!
These videos are amazing, so helpful thank you so much
Ahh thank you very much. Please let me know if any more would be helpful to do!!
I am a retired people nurse. Been up all night with a toothache. Despite taking high morphine doze l still needed the cold water rinse every few min. Less than 3hrs till surgery opens. If they can't fit me in this morning l am considering DIY. I have glass Ionomer in a drawer. I have never done a permanent filling before. But when the pain comes too much & too long l will have no problem with a spot of DIY. Many thanks for your tuition
I still think you’re best to see a dentist because if there is active decay in the tooth then you put a filling over it it’s not gonna go away but then we get worse. I really hope you get sorted. Xx
Thank you for this video, I have been struggling to find a video that goes into detail on paper charting. Thank you so much I learnt a lot 😊
Hi Lydia, Your welcome and thank you for taking the time to watch. If there is anything else which maybe helpful I can do another video to support. xx
