If your name is Horace and you're hungry then this is the Commodore game for you. The first of a series of games, these seem to clone other games rather than be anything unique. This is Pacman with flowers and a spud-u-like baddy after you. Using WinVice emulator, OBS for recording, and brain cells that died long ago. The best (or second-best) chess engine for the Commodore 64. It certainly whipped my backside. You too can shoot down Hannibal, Face, B.A. and Murdoch in this questionable Commodore 64 game. Quite simply one of the worst commercially released games every for the C64. A lemon of the highest order. If anyone would like to let me know what the whole point of this game was, I'm all ears. I'd rather just discuss the nostalgia of the original TV Show. Commodore 64 game of the arcade game of the film, which follows none of the plot of the film in the first place anyway. Still, it's a tremendous amount of fun and well worth playing. I LOVED this game as a kid. My cousin and I would play spiltscreen, but we would cover each other's half of the tv with cardboard, so we could only see our own cockpit. And that theme music still rocks.

It could have been a lot worse. At least there were plenty of questions. The Spectrum and Electron versions seemed to stick quite well to the TV show. Minus the prizes.

Where could I download this game, I had it as a kid, then again as an adult with an emulator, watching your video brought back so many memories. My dad and I would play for hours on the C16, but never got to the end, is there an emulator where you can save, turn off your computer then start where you left off last time?

Although the game play is not the same, this reminds me of an Amiga game called "Tower of Babel" which I found to be very fun and addictive. It had a much more puzzle oriented feel to it.

Had this as a kid, played it a lot. Still play it now. Loved the music (Always sounded like a rip off of John Carpenters Assault on Precinct 13 theme). As far as I'm aware, there's no ending to this game, as if you play it with invincibility cheat, it just keeps going and going. I got to about level 60 and still no end. The only real gripe I had with the game was the bullet mechanics are weird (so that you sometimes can't hit something right in front of you but can hit something just out of line of your bullet stream) and also that you can't kill the snipers on the roof. Other than that, for £2.99 back in '86, it was a bargain. I also liked Mastertronic's Ninja.

This was called Space Empire in the US. Space Empire, that's right. Space Empire. The reason I keep saying Space Empire is that if you search Space Empire on UA-cam, you get the recent C64 port of the second in the famous Lucasarts scifi trilogy whose name I won't mention so as not to mess up the search. :D Always wanted to know what this game was about, and I've just seen a working copy on eBay. Good to know it went by this name in the UK.

I'm back to very old school management games. FM these days is a "no life" game. You have to get involved in so much stuff. The developers say you can delegate. But you really can't. The AI for the assistant manager, coaches, director of football etc are as dumb as rocks. If you don't do everything yourself - you lose. You can spend 2 hours between each game. in FM 2021 I played for 60+ hours and got to February in my first season. I had none of the satisfaction of seeing a player develop, or getting promoted, or anything like that. A "career" is a 2,000 to 3,000 hour time investment in FM these days. Just not prepared to do that. And they've stopped making Touch for the PC. So that's not an option any more.

I got the hang of the game, got all kinds of upgrades... and then I hit a plot-stopping bug. But this was around 1987 so I don't remember the details. But I still remember the music. Now this is a game that should get a remake.

I remember you could absorb everything even after having absorbed the Sentinel, provided you didn't go to his square yet. I would build an enormous tower of boulders and then view from above before ultimately moving on. The Sentinel Returns didn't have these features anymore.

Excellent video! Just a few minor things: 1) As you know, we put boulders underneath our robots to be able to see ground squares higher up than we currently are - however, you often seem to build TWO boulders and then a robot on top of that. That’s pointless; two boulders don’t let you see any further than a single boulder. An odd number of boulders is ideal. 2) Also, the enemies don’t activate until you absorb or build something, so always use that to your advantage, just like you did on level 0000 here. 3) You’re absolutely right about us not being able to absorb stuff from the landscape once the Sentinel is absorbed, but we can still build stuff! So if we’re stuck on level 0400, but we have a code written down for level 0397, finish 0397 again with as much energy as possible, and once you’ve absorbed the Sentinel, build stuff until you have the exact amount of energy to get to level 0401, which would be 7 energy units (or 2 robots and a tree). When you hyperspace, regardless of whether on the Sentinel’s plinth or not, that costs you 3 energy units: the cost for a robot in the new location. Incidentally, as you know, you don’t have to enter an 8-digit code to access level 0000 - but level 0000 DOES have code. To see it, finish level 0000 with exactly 3 energy units remaining, that will take you back to level 0000, and you get the code for that level. File under ”Stupid Pet Tricks”. Thanks for a great video!

I've just been having a look to try to remember what athletics/track/field game it was I had for the Commodore 16. I'm quite sure that it was "Olympiad". Must have cost me about £5.99 back in the mid '80s, which was a bloody fortune for someone that was 13 or so... it was really crap too. I kind of lost heart with the C16 then as games for the C64 were far better.

Impressive graphics for the C16, but the letterboxed screen, ruthless enemy spawning (half of them just seem to teleport onto you), and lack of even a few seconds' starting invincibility make it nigh on unplayable without cheats. Didn't stop me once trying to rip it off in SEUCK, of course...
