This is how I cheated the Anamorphic look for $30 with an Anamorfaked vintage lens, the Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 and my Sony a6700, a hybrid APSC (crop sensor) Camera. The most commonly used vintage lens for anamorfakes are the Helios 44 series but I gave my FD a shot and it seems to work pretty well without actually modifying the actual lens body.
