"STOVE PIPE" Steel Match at Volusia Gun & Hunt Club.mp4
Local Steel match at the Volusia Gun and Hunt Club in Deland, Fl.
It was my first time back shooting in a while. Went good for the most part. I was slow on the draw and it took me a bit to learn where to aim with my new sites. I cut that part out. I also changed the recoil spring which caused it to stove pipe once it had a few rounds through it. Even with the stove pipes, I kept the pistol running and finished the stage. Afterwards, I switched springs and did not have any more issues.
The Pistol is a Springfield Armory XD9 Service pistol in bi-tone. Modifications include, a solid steel guid rod and assorted springs, reduced trigger springs, hogue slip on grip and TFO sights. With the TFO sights, point of impact is dead on the front sight dot. Cover the target with the front sight and you'll be dead center. Theyu also have great visability.
The video was shot with a GoPro Hero HD with a polorized filter and a head strap mount. It has wide angle lens so the targets look farther than they are. Subtract about 1/4 of the distance. I believe the target ranged from 7 yrds to 35 yrds.

A few short clips of me Freediving at Alexander Springs and Blue Springs. Filmed with a GoPro Hero HD on a wrist strap. Light is Intova LED on a home made wrist mount. The first video clip is me diving through the loop at Alexander Springs. VERY DANGEROUS. DO NOT ATTEMPT. This is a very tight tunnel. I have been hung up twice and this dive ended very BAD. Thankfully it was not worse. At the tig...

Some freinds and I decided to try and shoot skeet for the first time. We needed more ammo. 4 freinds, 90 clays, and 75 rounds. NOT enough Ammo!. Next Time, 90 clays & 100 rounds each. There was some regulars there that were nice enough to help us out and how. They even through some clays for us. Freindly people, good times. We mest up plenty, but it was still fun. We even shot off a few 3" mag ...
Day at the Ocala Public Shooting Range, Pistol & Rifles
Переглядів 9 тис.15 років тому
Some freinds and I decided to check out the Ocala Public Shooting Range and have a little fun. It was a nice range, and most of the people there were very freindly. In this video, we were shooting Pistols & rifles. We had a nice little selection, but nothing to fancy. Pistols: Taurus, 357 Magnam Snub-nose; Skyy, 9mm; High Point, 9mm; Springffield Armory XD9, 9mm. Rifles: Rugar, 10/22; High Poin...
Yes, if you keep calm, its an easy dive. I'm use to diving in tight places, but I don't recommend this for the average freediver.I can do this dive without thinking about it in under 30 sec, but I'm not going to tell someone with a 30 sec dive time they can do it. If things go wrong and you don't keep calm, no one can help you. The tight space and a safety diver not being able to assist you is what makes it dangerous.
no its not, i did that dive the other day, the only problem was i snagged my shirts on a rock and had to slap them off. its an easy dive as long as you keep calm
Hey, sorry it took me so long to reply. Been working alot and have not had time to post or even dive. I have been through all three before. Once I get past a certain point I never turn around. There is no room and its too tight. I have done this dive 100 times but this one did not go as planned. Just as I reached the tightest point I had a spasm / cramp in my leg. Everything went wronmg from there. I'll look for your video if you posted it.
I did a freediving video of this swim-through at Alexander as well. Its a short distance but a little tight, with jagged rocks. Trying to turn around is difficult, so its always better to swim through. The 3rd opening is small but manageable.
learn to swim and shoot video
and stop shaking
mute that annoying noise
I'll be posting more videos soon. Your never allowed to swim with the manatees at Blue Springs. If they come in the run, you have to keep your distance or get out of the water. There are some areas in florida designated to swim with the manatees, but Blue Springs is not one of them.
Picasso wetsuit? NICE!
There are three openings. The main one that everyone can see is about 3 feet. The one I came out of is about 2 feet wide and only 8-12 inches tall. The 3rd is about the size of a bsket ball with a 90 degree bend with about 12" of room to turn. This is a very dangerous dive. I don't recommend even to the most experienced. I got stuck on this dive and almost did not make it out. It is to tight for scuba or for anyone to help you if there is a problem. VERY DANGEROUS
awesome video... that tunnel at alexander, is there a separate exit and entry point, or do you loop around and come out the same way you came in? I couldn't tell.
No. No manatee. You not allowed in the water with them anymore.
was that a manatee swimming down in the springs with you?
Well, I guess that is one way to look at it. It was a lot of fun. We try to go as often as we can. Now we make sure that we take enough skeet and ammo. When ever we are out there, we welcome others to line up and shoot with us. We will evan throw for everyone. As long as everyone is safe, its cool. If someone is unsafe or acting stupid, we will run them off. I'm not getting shot over someone's stupidity.
@jsanford35 thats actually one of my rules is to avoid shooting ranges during the weekends and late night. i go week days early-ish and its usaully the same every where. not to crowded. Maybe its just me but it eems like the majority of the younger shooting population doesnot like to wakeup early to go shoot. so the people i met are very nice and responsible(generally older though). but thanks for replying maybe 1day i'll check it out. but like u during the weekdays.
@biggboysouth You know we didnt used to have any problems but the last few times we have gone there were a bunch of idiots, we may be looking for a new place to go or atleast try a different day/time od the week
i have been wanting to go to a public range but i,ve heard countless stories of dumbasses that also go. waving their guns around, drinking, and just being irresponsible. Im a take a guess and say your in fl. becuase a know there is a public range in ocala florida. If it is fl hows the range and did you see anything you didnt like?
No charge. It is a free, public range. That is why we decided to check it out.
cool
