The hood doesn't even close properly. That car had been abused. That's why its knocking. Its saying letting me outta this horrible place.
@@Sam-j4p1t it's not closed on purpose. This was right before I pulled into the shop and yanked the motor out for the rebuild

I'm looking at one of these. I wish i could negotiate the post seats, graph, and trolling motor off of the price as i either don't want them outright (seats) or would rather have a different setup ( graphs and trolling motor) Does it come with the safety requirements, or do i need to budget in stuff like a fire extinguisher and horn?
@ahabsbane you're best bet is finding a used one with upgraded graphs. You can find them for around 11-13k It comes with the horn and extinguisher. All you'll have to buy to be legal is life jackets
@@sharpoutdoors3368 we have our own lifejackets , just need a class IV, I guess I just hate the wastefulness of packages. I feel like most folks get rid of or swap out most of it eventually.
@ahabsbane The seats ain't bad at all. But the graph is horrible. And the trolling motor I've had zero complaints with. Does just fine for me
@@sharpoutdoors3368 I know I want to get rid of the post seats, I'm a stander, I'd rather have the open deck space. is the trolling motor GPS ready for spot-lock? Sorry I'm new to all this tech, and this will be my first boat of my own.
@@ahabsbane trolling motor is not for spot lock I leave my seats in the shed unless my wife comes lol

Mine just started that shit ! I love this car it’s fun and fast but my god every second it’s something with this car ! First it was a boost leak and then the hose would just pop off the intercooler fixed that now it’s started that ticking noise it’s gets loud as hell
Every single blown up sti and wrx we see in the shop is running a cobb e tune. Every. Single. One.
Does the noise go away periodically (5-15sec) or does it just stay and get louder when accelerating? And non existent when the clutch is pressed
Noise was constant and went up with rpm. My problem was a rod bearing

I rebuilt mine. Blpck was good. I went ahead and replaced crank, connecting rods, and pistons since o was in there. Used Manley rods and pistons. Oem crank

No. Previous owner beat it to death. When I pulled the engine to rebuild, there was compression numbers wrote on the heads and one was way low

People be spending 35,000$ on a car that doesn't last I'm tired of people thinking Suburus are good cars they are not, boxer engines aren't efficient!!!!!!!!!!!!! A lot goes into the account of the people driving them too, these little amateur to stick they driving them at high rpm, burning out the clutch and think they know how to drivr stick correctly but they don't, in 2 years you'll see a lot of these cars with blown engine and burnt clutch
Did you put a Lil scented tree in the car? Piston #4 it's a big fan of those

They raise up! There's a pole you screw into a hole in the deck

I added a bunch of upgrades so if you're just trying to fix it, I can't give you a number. I spent around 6k
On the front cover where your wires come out for the depth finder did you have to do anything, so the wires didn't get squished? Or is there enough room?
I had plenty of room in mine. However, watch where you mount the wire for the transducer on the trolling motor. I pinched my wire when I folded the trolling motor up one day
I am just getting into this. How does it work mounted on the trolling motor when you are turning back and forth in windy conditions.. if I'm going straight then turn left, does the screen see that view? If so, you could use side scan as front view by turning the head, or am i missing something. Again..I am brand new at this stuff
This is what happens when people (especially previous owners) always wanna do launches, drive through twists and turns, and redline their cars on a daily, yet expect it to be fine
Dealer told me it was bone stock. But when I was putting my parts on I noticed the stock airbox was scratched up, and when I pulled the engine to rebuild it it had compression readings written on the heads. One was low. During the teardown I found the cylinder 4 rod bearing was the knock, and one Piston was cracked (the one with low vompression) Definitely don't think my mods/driving is what caused this haha. I just got burned

@chrisg5352 I rebuilt it with a new crank, Manley rods and pistons, put a Cobb e85 kit, intake and exhaust. Then traded it in lol So whoever gets it next wpnt have to worry about that engine for a good while.

Yes, but usually not at idle. This is almost 100% spun bearing/rod knock
i had that case with my ej25, it was the gates tensioner

I own a 2015 wrx I sti swapped the tranny but fa20 all day 400 whp 116’000 miles still goin strong only problem I’ve ever had was my Cobb port corrupted all of my user data. Still don’t trust any Subaru engine
