I knew I had to see them when the toured this past year. I got to see their show in San Francisco. The staggering, intense interplay the soaring lines, the looseness and freedom was astonishing. What a shock to know now that Zakir is gone. He was everywhere in music for so long. Thanks to John for coming up with this band, we all got to know Zakir and the rest.

Re-Watching this video after hearing the news of Zakir Hussein passing away yesterday I still remember - 1998 ( i was 8 years old) - my parents dragged me to a classical music concert by Zakir… i was quite annoyed and didn’t appreciate the music then Now 26 years later, I wish i could have attended his concert one last time
