Watching this it's amazing the contrast between talk shows then and talk shows now. They don't seem to let anybody actually SPEAK anymore - every reply is reduced down to a short soundbite a couple sentences or so long with a reaction from the crowd and the host moving things along to the next soundbite. It's incredibly refreshing to see an actual conversation happening. I hope we go back to this format at some point.

I do wish that they would’ve used Bruce Springsteen only because it was more realistic and was actually what that kid listened to. I know they always take a bunch of liberties with the truth in these kinds of films, but that would’ve been an easy one to keep.

What a sad, tragic person: he reminds me of George Michael's ex Fadi Fawaz who turned his entire life into a crusade against him because he was cut out of the will and suddenly had to adjust from being a kept man to fending for himself. Hugo was a leech who depended on the good will of the rich and famous for his livelihood, reducing himself to a pitiful prostitute with a grudge against everyone who didn't allow him to milk them for cash. Warhol wasn't any better either: as soon as the guests from their parties left, they'd go back to fighting with their emptiness, desperation and addictions. Yes, he deserves judgement and pity. There was nothing to redeem there.

It's so sad to hear these countless rude outbursts from Faye Dunaway to fellow colleagues. Mental illness is no excuse for poor behaviour and it's the sheer consistency of them all that paints a pretty bleak picture about her. I have always been a fan of her work, but as a person, not so much.

GEORGE SANDERS is one of my favorite actors of all time, and I'm a huge fan of any of his performances, including his Academy Award winning performance in ALL ABOUT EVE in 1950. The man truly deserves more attention from film fans of today. Oddly, I came to know his voice originally, as the voice of Shere Khan in the Disney cartoon version of The Jungle Book. Later, when I was much too young to have seen this film, I saw his performance in The Kremlin Letter. That film left an odd impression on me, but might have influenced me into choosing to pursue intelligence while in the military. It took many years later after I married my 2nd wife who's a psychologist to have brought this to my attention decades after the fact. We had just seen The Kremlin Letter and I told her about seeing it as a boy. That may sound like BS, but it's true. Anyway, GEORGE SANDERS is a phenomenal actor and a fascinating writer as well. If you've never read his autobiography, Memoirs of a Professional Cad, I highly recommend it. SANDERS is tremendously witty and never takes himself terribly seriously. Despite winning an Oscar, I still contend that he was often overlooked when acting accolades should have berm more forthcoming for such an engaging thespian. Mores the pity. Requiescat in pace, George Henry Sanders.
