Congrats on the milestones, you should do a video talking about console button shortcuts, I can’t figure out how to do a roll on the floor but I’ve seen ppl on PC do it.
Oh yeah man - that one! or peak round corners! I'm no controller whizz for sure. Actually I was on the road to getting a keyboard and mouse as my next steps!!! Vaguely hoping it improves my aim....errr.
Nice video! What is your opinion on having a base in pavlovo toxic zone, on top of hospital or other gray building?
Yeah doable. I think I talked about in one video in passing. My only big concern is that while it adds a level of safety from passing interest - the toxic zones are very attractive on official for HIGH TIER LOOT so you can expect experienced players to come find your base and then they will break into it. Another issue is that when you leave, you will always need a full set of NBC gear either on you or hidden somewhere or you can't get back in!! You'll also need at least a car to get a reasonable load of gear in at a time to do the build. It's back to the notion of exposure over secrecy - do you build a well defended very obvious base or try and hide a smaller one?? Or of course just bury everything in multiple stashes all over the map.

I’m a solo player who hasn’t really gone in for base building with mates just yet but I always would rather start a some community Barter town but the raiding and like rivalry aspect Intrigues me

All well and good but you can dismantle the gate when it’s backwards and if they don’t have tools if they shoot the frame it destroys the wall fully no matter if it’s metal or wood sadly
You CANNOT dismantle a locked gate with tools you have to destroy it. And I don't think you're right about damaging the frame. According to my research the wall always takes damage against the wall first. But its on my list to confirm for sure as it still keeps coming up.

You'll get food poisoning. You'll need some charcoal tablets to combat that.🤮
How u get the gas stove
The gas stove comes in two parts - the stove part and the gas bottle. The bottles spawn in camps and outbuildings etc. as do the stove tops. You then combine them to create the 'stove' and combine a frying pan or cooking pot for the full camp experience!!!
How do you get the logs and sheet metal up there? Official Dayz has no backpacks large enough to put the items in your inventory and I assume you can’t carry by hand up ladders?
Ahh but you assume Wrong!!! Whatever you hold in your hands 'magically disappears' when using a ladder and 'magically reappears' again when you step off at the top! Sheets, drums, logs, chests - you name it.

My clan has a 5 tier stash/base system: 1. Coastal Trash Tier Hidden Stash. Basically a few dried fruit, a few crappy guns, and maybe a stab vest or something I wouldn't mind getting stolen...place in every spawn town for re-equipping after spawning in very fast and B-lining it to the last location we died. 2. Tier 2 FOB base. Somewhere within 2KM of the coast, where we have around 30 crates to drop off stuff for convenience to go back to loot coastal towns easier. Mostly bigger items that we wouldn't mind getting stolen...but its too big to carry on us. Jerrycans...saws...hatchets. We try to move important stuff here to the Armory whenever we can. Next patch...it will be our starter base before we move more inland to Tier 3 Armory. 3. Tier 3 Armory Base. Its the location where we have never been found on the map. Its the location so remote...we get lost finding ourselves even though we are on top of it. Its essentially where we store all gun and other important things. 100+ crates here... 4. Tier 4 Buried Base. Even though we haven't been looted at the Armory...just in case...around 500M away from the armory...we cut down a few trees in the middle of a forest and buried a few full sets of NBC gear and VSD there. We also have a crossbow there, and a crate full of spark plugs bc one of our clan members insisted...lol. 5. Tier 5. Car Wide Shed bases...just a place to store our cars. Try to keep it a minimum of 3 layer airlock (you can walk in between each layer). And we try to keep it only 1 base per town. We find that if we claim all the sheds in a town...we draw a lot of attention to the area. You'll more likely encounter another large clan that will raid 15 layers in a single day and fk you up if you make it too obvious in a town. Spread it out a little bit.
whats worse is when they raid you on a fking Wednesday 3AM. Tuesday night I logged in to check everything was fine. Wednesday Morning I logged in and all 5 bases we built in Karmanovka were gone. Fkers couldn't take 2 of our cars and just destroyed the engines. I wish the game would let me know who did this...

@@LongJohnSilver_PS5 We mostly just take turns on weekdays to check on status of the cars and try to synch of playtime on the weekends...Its just that 6 people with field backpacks requires lots of extra storage space. Nails are never the problem. Its always the lack of space thats the problem.
First time watching your videos...why aren't you allowed to build at Castle? I understand not walling off any Military sections for yourself...but why not Castle?
I consider Castles to be a 'Unique' location. There aren't that many and I have added some special gear to castles spawns - oh and bears! I like to keep it so everyone can access them.

having a good place to store lots of gear can be handy especially for players that dont have all day to loot everytime they die in pvp, if you have a solid base with tons of loot its minimises that, you die, run back to base, get geared up again and back out to pvp some more, ill only do it if i have a base thats really difficult to raid and easy to defend, other wise all your hard work will be gone the same week you got it all done, it can actually be fun to see how long you can keep a base running and operational too, plenty of reasons to get into base building but its sadly a tedious and long process
Ahh the Ol'e Respawner. You could do that with a stash too though. A couple of skillfully buried sea chests or crates for example in one of the cemeteries up the coast!
@@LongJohnSilver_PS5 true but for me personally its kinda thrilling defending bases lol, i do of course keep some stashes on the coast too tho, except cemetaries they always get checked nowadays 🙄
You dont build bases to store gear, you build bases too attract players. You build base that is fun to defend and gives you the best angles to have the edge on intruders.

You are not telling how you get to each of these menu's. All the tutorials I have found are for the PC version and are not much help for the PS5 version. Since you are not bothering to tell me how you get around to the many different screens and menu's, you are not much help. I'll be moving on now.
Two things I think: 1) you are jumping in quite late to the piece. You should check out my Beginnings Videos first, that might shed some light; and 2) did you do the tutorial campaign - it helps a bit. Otherwise - what re you looking for in particular?
@@LongJohnSilver_PS5 Actually, I'm starting to figure it out. I now know how to build all the building types, I think. I've figured out how to get my ship around to other islands and have even figured out how to get someone to trade goods with me. That was kinda tough, as I had to do a bunch of quests for them before they would trade with me. So all and all, I'm getting it, just slow going. Most importantly, i'm turning a tidy profit and my peeps are happy.
How do you open wooden crates, ive found one and rehid it but i cant open it please help
They don't 'open' in the same way that say a drum opens. Just put it on the ground and open your inventory HUD next to it and you will see what's in it. If you put it in your inventory e.g. backpack - you won't see what's in it. Same with car, but you will see it in a truck - Special case.
It's so rubbish where u can't build upstairs just ruins whole building
It's probably fair to say that base building needs a bit of work. Not being able to move items of rubbish and small furniture ticks me off!!

As the game really does not have 'difficulty' settings' I presume that the level of achievement counts as difficulty - I'm a solid average!

@@_xXthefearedXx On some gates and doors yes but not ALL! For example: You cannot shoot the PRISON island doors to open them. If you are locked in there by someone with a lock pick - the only way is out is back to the coast!!!
