Incidentally, today is his death anniversary ( punyatithi), Jan 6 1969.

This was Khansaheb's performance at the residence of the legendary Pt.Gyan Prakash Ghosh ( Gyan Babu) of Kolkata in the 1950's, probably 1957.

Chaiti or Chitra ?....there is Chaiti Gauri which has similar structure but is an evening or dusk raag,like Lalita Gauri.

Actually this Bandish was written and composed for a Hindi Movie. This Bandish is based on a classical piece, and this anecdote was narrated by Panditji himself. Nevertheless, its a pretty melodious Bandish and most probably sung here by Panditji himself, supported by one of his favorite disciples, Jay Mevundi... 💁
