Road Bike -project, part VII: How do I brazing a bicycle frame with bronze?
In this episode, we will complete the brazing of the main triangle using bronze. The brazing process proceeds in stages:
1. first, the seat tube is brazed to the bottom bracket shell,
2. then the main triangle is tacked together,
3. the frame is removed from the jig, and
4. finally, the frame is brazed completely.
For flux, I use Cycle Design LFB flux paste (USA). For brazing rod, I use SIF Bronze No 101 wire (3.0 mm).

The preparation of the top tube is the easiest part of the bicycle project. The blank used is a Dedacciai MTO286B301 tube, and it is filed to fit between the head tube and the seat tube. Filing this tube to completion takes about an hour, with most of the time spent finishing the tube in the jig. #framebuilding Affiliate Links: BIKE App Computer apps.apple.com/us/app/bike-app-computer/id6578420...

To make a bicycle head tube, you need a head tube reamer, a hacksaw, and a head tube blank. I have a Columbus Zona 36 mm head tube (CYRK18600) from which I will make the head tube. The head tube length is specified as 117 mm in the drawing, but it shortens during reaming, so it's advisable to make it 2 mm longer. #framebuilding Affiliate Links: BIKE App Computer apps.apple.com/us/app/bike-app-c...
