My daily-ish struggle
United States
Приєднався 1 січ 2024
Welcome!
Here you will find my daily-ish (daily life is hard right now) struggle to clean and maintain my messy home and life. I will show you all the dirt and take you through to clean, organize and maintain my home. I hope to help and encourage anyone in my situation. Health struggle, mental struggle and daily habits will be addressed in here and how I am trying to get my crap together. 2024 WILL be my year to find a comfortable and clean existence . I work slow and steady, if I need a break I take one, often, so I'm not in pain, I don't get overwhelmed and I can still live a life outside of cleaning.

Declutter pt1 (Stamps)
Hello Friends
Stamps. All crafters have them but do we really use ALL of them? Most likely the answer is no. I am no different, I have my pretties and my useful and then there are the rest that I have never used. It is time to do a good look through and remember that others could put them to use and love them as much if not more than I do. I will have some wishy washy deciding and that's ok. I am not here to be stressed or strict, I am going to make absolute decisions on most, set the rest aside and plan to resists in a year if not sooner.
Join me in a declutter of your stamps, won't you? You never know where there are items you can dust off and pass along to make someone else happy!

Just a note to say Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and we can all make it through this time if we just use self preservation tactics... I need to hide away for a bit this year as I can't face smiling consistently. My apologies, I'm trying to function on a severe deficit this year that I didn't see this emotional rollercoaster coming. Hello Friends!!! Well we made it to the closet FINALY!! Is it done? NO... But then I haven't opened all my boxes. But it's a start. I had to move to other things on my list in a bigger, air flowing room... So I sorted and organized journaling pens (does one need so many pens? 👀... yup!) and markers. Those wretched white marker holders have been sent to Goodwill, hopefully someone else will love...

I feel your pain! It sucks!😢
Thank you, yes it does.. Happy New Year
You are a sister from a different mother! I think we’d be friends if we lived closer (I don’t have many these days). I’m having my husband watch your video so he can understand how I feel about my immediate family (makes me very sad but so true). I’m tired of crying over the fact that they don’t respond to me.
I have the EXACT same mail problem
Crafting has been my safe place but I did the SAME thing. One of the first videos was getting rid of most of it. I found a recycle place to donate to. They weigh want you bring in. I gave them OVER 650 pounds of supplies!!!!!
Love boyd bears but have to get rid of too! I was diagnosed with Parkinson a couple of years ago so I get the body breaking down
I'm sending a hug from Brazil, just to say you're not alone on your daily struggles... Have a very merry time yourself!!
@@andreapedroso7349 Thank you! Ohh.. Brazil! Beautiful… from what I’ve seen on tv. ❤️
Somehow I found this video so relaxing. Thanks ❤️
Glad you enjoyed it!
I feel you with the moving crap 😂😂😂
Good morning from Houston Texas!
Good Evening!! Never been to Houston! Thank you for stopping by and saying hi!
You have taken on a big job. I recently re did my craft room and it took two weeks.
2 weeks? Oh I only wish...but then again I'm unpacking other boxes as well and taking it very slowly, to my husband's dismay as he trips over the piles. LOL! I hope you love your craft room even half as much as I miss my crafts! Thanks for the comment!
Cant hear anything but music. it is very distracting. I am interested in your video and want to watch but I dont want to listen to music.
I'm in the process of learning and am currently working out all the editing. Thank you for your comment.
Thanks for sharing. I could only watch 10 min of it because the music in the background is making me sleepy. It’s too calming.
Hmmm...I will try to not be so relaxing next time ☺️. I'm still working out music themes, it takes time. Thank you for watching though!
Loved the video, and you have a wonderful craft room. But can I come with a wish? Please don’t play music when you talk, I had to turn off the sound and turn the texting on. Not the way I like to watch a video 😕
YES! And thank you! No-one ever told me they didn't like it. You may find coming videos with it that way as I do film ahead a bit, but the ones I haven't posted yet I will go in and re-edit them.
Very nice job rearranging your room! I hope your finger heals quickly 😊. Looking forward to seeing how your office turns out 😊
Thank you! 😊
Impressive. It was hard to hear you over the music when you talked, but the transcript helped. Don't be so down on yourself, I know it is a hard habit to break, but I am harder on myself than I should be. Talk to yourself like you are your friend, or even if you talk to your plants, give yourself little pep talks like that to help break the habit. Love the new desk. I would TOTALLY get those doors taken down, I have a few removed here, and I do not miss them. You did a LOT!!! Can't wait for the next one. I have my office, craft corner, and living room all in the same space. It is a challenge, and I need to dedicate some time to finishing the craft purge and organization of the whole space. Way to go! You are making me want to get to it!
Thank you for your comments!! And I will be re-editing some videos before they go up to cut the music. If you do hear in in some coming videos, I am sorry, they have already been scheduled and I can't redo them. 😕. As for your space, I hope I have and will be inspiring you to find creative ways to organize and arrange things! ❤️
Woot! For getting done early! You have inspired me to get busy on my list.
I thought that little foot move was totally cute! It made me giggle. And I was impressed at your agility - keep going, it is all about health, and you are obviously on the right road. Huggzzz for the injury but stuff happens, and you got it done! Can’t wait for part 2. It is gonna be a studio to die for!
Thank You!!! LOL I might just die for it if I don't start paying attention and be careful! I am finding everything in my life runs on slow right now...ugh. Pt 2 is already scheduled and craft room redo will be on Tuesdays the home and or travels stuff on Thursdays for the moment. ;)
I appreciate you keeping it real
How is it going with your room now it is almost be a year for year right now
Well... Look at some of the more recent videos and you will see...sadly.. we had to sell the house, I had to get rid of a ton of crafts and we now live in a little apartment in Tennessee. BUT! we are soon going to pick up what is in storage and I will be organizing a whole new craft room! Much smaller but I do have less stuff. 🤷♀️ Maybe it will fit? We will see! Thank you for watching and your comments!
I love when paper is upcycled, especially journal books!!! I hate to throw them out!
Amen... gives me guilt and then if I do throw it away I will need it for something. LOL!
I have to commend you, because I am just like you, and I also have a tendency to want to keep every little thing. I am going through the planning stage of moving my craft room. I am currently in a 10x10 room. It triples as a home office, toy room for my grandchildren, and my craft room. We are going to convert the garage into a craft studio and a workshop for my husband. My side of the garage will be shared with the laundry and spare fridge, also having to be mindful of the pull-down attic access door. I love the way you broke down the small items into tubs. That is a very helpful idea. I think that I will borrow that one! Thank you for the encouragement that you gave, and the incentive to do a little something every day! We have to lift each other up and hopefully it will help someone along the way!!👏👏👏
Thank YOU for your reply! Yes we do have to start lifting everyone up! You are free to borrow anything you want from my videos! I am still in the "what's the perfect organization style for me" stage. It changes all the time according to my temperament. LOL! Keep an eye out for my current craft room organizational videos starting sometime in September. As we have moved, most of my supplies are in storage and will be back with me by September 1. All new storage and organization to come! BTW...I think craft rooms should become as manditory as bathrooms in homes...Let's start a movement! 😉
I call that a “log jam”, when you have something constantly blocking progress - you have cleared a lot of log jams recently!!! Inspiring 💜👏🌟
Thank you and yes I have!!! But dang, the universe keeps sending forests of logs in my direction right now!! LOL! And where does all my stuff come from? I swear it multiples and parties over night and I'm the one woman cleanup crew. 🤷♀️ Answer is Amazon... Amazon it my downfall. LOL!
@@Mydailyishstruggle I hear you!!! Too easy to push that button, especially in times of stress 😱😱😱I can’t believe some of the stuff I have bought and still in the box or not used as planned 🤦♀️
i hope everything goes well for you, and also looking forward to your art channel! i think layered hair with curtain bangs would look good on you 🙂
Thank You! I'm thinking that too, now to get the nerve up to start chopping... eee!
You have made such progress! Such a cute little place. So glad hubs got the job, you must both be so relieved!
Oh my word we are thrilled!!! Thank you! I am really loving having a small place to live and it truly is a nice place all around.
I love the pantry!
Me too!! LOL!
Its a process...it takes time to undo the chaos...into a more peaceful space....its so worth it...never give up.....keep moving forward.✌️👍💪
That's the plan! ;)
Your apartment is looking really cute. I really like that pantey and the chest of drawers in your office.
The pantry is awesome! I'm still in love with the concept of the chest of drawers but I think they are really more for show or long term items where you don't have to get into it often. every other day I'm having issues with the drawers opening and closing. ugh. LOL! But they are so cute!!!! I'd buy them again...
Beautiful cross 🤍
Congrats! Sorry that the MIL was a problem - but what price independence, eh?

Impressive! You have done a GREAT job. You two are unstoppable - better days are ahead.
Thank you so much! I appreciate that and we believe so as well!
Wow! Excellent job!
Thank you very much!
I went through this a year and a half ago. Being laid off due to downsizing. It broke my heart bc I worked so hard, I felt lost, scared, and it really messed with my self esteem. I see your face and know that lost, hurt, confused look. I went through a couple of lesser paying jobs until I found one much better than the one I lost. Started last week. I hope you can get some sleep. You have each other and I hope that helps. It’s hard starting over at 56 for me but it can be done. I’m a new subscriber and will be along for your journey. Also, I started journaling when I first lost my job and I like to look back and see the hard fought progress I’ve made. I’m just sorry for your loss.
I'm sorry you experienced this too and Thank you for your comment, it means a lot and gives us hope. Journaling! Yes. Because we are moving in with MIL I purchased LOCKING journals. One for my sanity (I might need a few), one for our finances and one for my work plans. Even as a child I didn't own locking journals. This move to MIL's will, I am finding, be one of the biggest hurdles and a time I will be focusing on God, marriage and work. I will be bench pressing Buicks in my sleep I will be so strong after this trials and tribulations time. 😉❤️
There should be a law against this type of betrayal.
Sadly they would find a way to make it worse if there were laws against this stuff. There are always loopholes. ❤️
I just subscribed. I am sorry for your struggle. Thank you for being real.

New subscriber here. So sorry to hear about your husband's job loss. It is difficult. 31 years ago my husband was fired from his job, i only worked part time and we had a 2 and 8 year old. We had no savings ir credit cards. We lost everything... Moved to a new state with $1200 to our name. The Lord was faithful and we made it... We were never rixh but we made it. My advice is to put your faith and trust in the Lord. Blessings and I will pray for you.
Amen and every second of every day! ❤️
do you have an emergency fund?
We do. ❤️
You’re doing amazing keep going
Thank you so much!!
My heart aches for you but you both seem to have your heads screwed on tight you’ll be ok I will pray for you both! But I’d still see a lawyer he had to sign under extreme distress
Thank you. Yes we spoke with a lawyer and there is nothing more we can do. But all is not lost, even though it feels like it at moments, as we are seeing a brighter future than we thought we could. We are looking at this bump in the road as mini (some jagged some smooth) mountains and as long as we don't go crazy we will get to our much better and new life looking forward to ( I made my hubs promise me a big beautiful craft room in the new place) a fresh start. I told him to buy stock in IKEA before then because when I get to that point THIS CHIC WILL SHOP! ❤️😉
After dealing with sorting possessions of five family members who all died within eighteen months I can certainly sympathize with what you are doing. I am now sorting boxes of items I had shipped from the UK, for the last couple of years, I did not have the physical, emotional or mental abilty to handle the job due to serious medical issues. Recently, I started sorting. Progress is being made, albeit slowly, and I am exhausted lifting heavy items without help, Social Security doesn't make paying someone feasible, it is what it is. My goal is to have a clean and tidy and simplified home. You are doing a great job!
I'm so sorry for all your losses! You are in my prayers. Yes it is exhausting sorting things and feeling emotions you thought were long gone. Decision fatigue is a real thing and I hit that the other day. But we must persevere because the alternatives are worse. My hubs and I have decided that we have lived long enough with tons of stuff. I kept somethings that are now in storage that I wish I had just donated, BUT!, I will look forward to selling them when we buy our new house. 😉
Fired or laid off? It's pretty common to be cut/laid off like that. Happened to a friend of mine the year before he was planning on taking social security and retiring. In Massachusetts we have MassHealth for medical insurance for low income. You're in Georgia? www.benefits.gov/benefit/1626 What is income eligibility for SNAP? Food pantries help. Utility discounts - call gas/electric. Have a huge yard sale and purge - you don't want the cost of moving junk..and get the smallest storage and pack it full - storage units are a total waste of money. It's a new start - jump in! You don't have a choice so go with it. I've been through mulltiple layoffs and financial ruin. Don't waste too much of you life grieving or life will pass you by is my best advice. Out with the old! Minimalism is freedom!
This is heartbreaking. Prayers from Japan❤
Thank you, I do appreciate the prayers.
Also: you can get far more done in small bursts - so naps are important self-care, and will fuel your progress while helping your body deal with the exertion. You are On Your Way!
I agree, but personally, I also needed to slow down in life. I gave up, volunteering, and have eliminated actiivities other than walking my little dog, or cycling. I discoved that being distracted by too much business is not productive. Speaking of dumpsters, they are shockingly expensive to hire. I counted a total of eleven at one family member's home. They had lived in the same house for more than sixty years. People in the UK who lived through two World Wars did not part with anything they considered to be useful and/or of value. For instance they used parts from one lawn mower to repair another, nothing was ever wasted. I work on sorting something every day, without pushing myself to do as much as possible, or keep to a time schedule. I am thankful to be able to work without pressure from anyone.
Amazing, impressive progress, both physically & emotionally - inspiring!
Thank you! It isn't easy nor will it be smooth going but I believe that as long as my hubby and I stop periodically and talk and readjust our plan we will get through this with minimal bumps, bruises and long term hard feelings! So far, so good!

@@Mydailyishstruggle you bet sweets!! If I can help in any way pls let me know. I know I am a stranger on YT but your story hit home with me just know YOU GOT THIS ONE DAY AT A TIME. 🫶🏼💪🏼🙏🏼🫂
I knew of a situation in an “employee” owned company. One of the early employees passed away suddenly leaving a huge chunk of company stock to his wife. Being good Christian men, they held a board meeting where they conspired and passed a motion that would dilute the share price, and since the widow wasn’t an employee she was forced to sell the shares back to the company at an extremely low rate. This was the wife of a man who had literally helped found the company. The owner knew this woman for 30+ years and pulled that crap during the worst season of her life. Everyone wants to think employee owned businesses are this wonderful equitable thing. They even use it to advertise on packaging. But humans are humans, and humans suck. My advice: Be loud. Post on social media tagging the company. Get on the news. Screwing your husband will cost them less than bad publicity. And see if his shares entitle him voting rights within the company and take advantage of them if he has them. Sorry you are going through this
My husband is not a man to make waves and he believes in what you do to others will come back on you 10 fold. We will be fine financially, not as well as if they hadn't done all they did but we will be ok. I don't typically get in his business or tell him what to do, but he agreed me using his situation to inform others and maybe inspire others to watch their finances or tell them they will be ok if they are going through similar things is what my purpose is here. I get emotional, I am human, and scared, but I will not let some of these people who feel I am lying or not being as truthful as I can be run me off this channel. I have reached more people in a positive way than in a negative way. We are blessed to be in our decent position and I need to remind myself and my husband of that daily. Thank you for your comment. ❤️
