I backed a horse the night before the race was going to take place that night when I went to bed I had a dream that the horse would lose. I filmed the race as it happened live and this was the result.

I loved Soho and all the clubs in the 60s. The Whisky and Flamingos were two of the many clubs that I frequented in the 60s . I took my friends to Flamingos one night but it was still early and Georgie Fame was rehearsing tunes with his band and he invited us over to join them. We had a good chat with him and the band and they were all real gents.

I've seen lots of artists and bands, including (when he was called little) Stevie Wonder at The Flamingo Club in the 60s. This was one of the songs he sang there on the night ua-cam.com/video/soines8nna8/v-deo.html

Thanks for this. I saw Georgie Fame a few times there and remember the first couple of times were with my friend Chris. We were in the 5th form at Woking Grammar and we both told our parents we were staying over at the other's house for the night, but caught the train up to London for the All-Nighter. Must have been '63 or '64. Great times.

The Marquee only served soft drinks, as did the Flamingo. I went to the opening night at the Marquee, when it moved from Oxford Street to Wardour Street and saw the Tubby Hayes band. A few years later, I went to see the Who, and Steve Marriott bought me a coca-cola, so that's how I know that they had no alcohol.

I used to go to the Flamingo Club quite regularly. It was run by Sam and Geof Krugar then. Tony Kinsey, Tubby Hayes and many other modern jazz people played there. Every now and then they had all night sessions where we, a girl and myself, would go after dancing at the Hammersmith Palaise or the Cafe de Paris. No fights or stupid childish behaviour in those days.

My top night at the Flamingo was seeing T-Bone Walker playing in about 1966. The author of Stormy Monday Blues and a big influence on so many of our white R&B guitarists. He was playing with a pick-up band who all looked somewhat in awe of him. He was a big guy with big hands (which helps in the playing of those old hollow-bodied Gibsons) and he looked somewhat intrigued at all these white kids digging his music and demonstrating their dance moves (which in many cases they'd picked up from the West Indian guys in the black communities around our cities). Between sets (the early hours of the morning) the fans would spill up back into the street for some air, including proprietor Rick Gunnell, always wearing dark glasses and with a rum and coke in his hand and keeping an eye on things. White girls never looked so pretty and white boys never danced so well.

I went there two nights in a row in the summer of 1969, me and several other college students on tour from the USA. Great times, and most friendly they were in the cellar to us Yanks. I recall the Jag turntable and a girl from Glasgow who I danced with, ships that pass in the night.

I don't thinl that is the Bag O Nails as it was downstairs in a basement. Lloydy on the door only let in trendy people whether male or female. I know cos I went there often. I sat in there with Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Jimi Hendrix (yuk!) etc and the music was phenomenal.

One of the best nightclubs ever. Used to go there pretty much every Friday night and even had my hen night party there. Had to dress right, or they wouldn’t let you in so always dressed rather sexy! Toni, Suzanne and Clive....just in case you ever see this. It was always the four of us.

I am sorry this video is of the wrong location. The original Penthouse Club was in Stanhope Row on the site of where there is now the Park Lane Mews Hotel. I know this very well as through the early 1970s I was a member and visited the club fortnightly as many of the Penthouse Pets that worked there were former Playboy Bunnies based at 45 Park Lane. Many a happy memory going between the two clubs back in the day.

Pretty sure it was a new Burlington Street not new Burlington place and there was no basement entrance you went in street-level entrance and then downstairs. Mike's Diner was next door and open all night if I remember rightly.

Thank you for your uploads. I was a DJ during the 60s worked at Samantha's, the turntables wherein in a e- type Jag! ...then Hatchets, the DJ box was up a ladder, remember the waitress in silver hot pants. My favourite 60s club I worked as DJ was Lulu's in young st Kensington also owed by Louis Brown who owned Samantha's, le kilt, la valboune and the Scotch of St james.where I also spun the discs, remember on the door next to a bell it said ',if you don't swing don't ring:'.... great memories.

At 0:24 seconds the blue archway building next to the blue hoarding is number 11 if you look on Google Street view as next door to that is number 10 so it makes sense. Also thank you for your video as I found this location when looking to see where it was that metal band Iron Maiden held their aftershow party They sent out invites for friends and crew to attend a party here on 20th March 1982 once they'd reached the end of the Killers tour and to celebrate the launch of their classic album The Number of The Beast. Historic times. :)
