Took my trusty old early 2000s Handycam to Ebisu Matsuri, the first one i have attended. Absolutely blown away by the madness of this event. Here's what i managed to capture :)

Took the laurel back for a retune after installing the kelford cam, great results but still more in it.

We finally completed the install of the kelford 274/274 rb30 camshaft into the rb20e. Hopefully this should allow us to rev it more and make more power.

Took the rb20eT to the dyno and had her tuned. Ran into knock issues surprisingly early but we will be back for more power.

If I just want to toss a cam just for the chop in my rb20e single can do I still need a tune or can I get away with factory ecu
Your car might run, but probably not very well and it might damage it over time. I cant confirm as my car had a standalone ecu by the time the cam went in

Sadly the cam module / distributor CAS are pretty bad for timing scatter on the 20e and 30e. A rb20de head with proper CAS will solve that issue plus it won't have the hotspotting issue that the single cam heads may or may not have.
Can you elaborate on two things? 1) cas trigger disc conversion and setup. (How’s the harness bit sorted? TDC signal to Ecu allows Ecu ignition output channels to be used to fire CoP units, which are powered/grounded accordingly?) 2) RB20E(T) oil pumps. Did you change yours? I’ve got the factory 20ET and I’m pulling the engine to do paint/body. Hoping to proactively change the 100k replaceables as well as oil/water pump. Not sure if the 30e/et pumps are direct replacement for 20e/et. You should broker some 20E/ET parts thru your channel, I’d def be a customer lol.
1. yeah so basically since its still en efi engine the dizzy has a cam angle sensor in it and i used the signal from that to trigger the coilpacks. look up rb30e CAS wiring diagram. the loom is custom with a stand alone ecu. you dont have to change the disc inside he cas however i decided to for a more reliable cas signal as the nissan 360 discs have been known to cause problems at higher revs. 2.I have not changed my oil pump but i imagine the rb20e/et/de/det pumps are all the same as the block is more or less the same. Good idea man il look into that.

Legend! 1) I’ve got a Megasquirt ms3 so I’m thinking similar reliability with the trigger disc swap. 2) sounds reasonable, I’ll pull mine first before ordering a replacement. Hope you find room on the channel to tinker with the single jingle some more man, cheers!

How you ran your exhaust? what material? What header? Sound nice.
Its a 3” stainless all the way from the turbo to the tip, no mufflers. Manifold is a thick wall stainless one i made myself

Yeah i think you will be fine but may end up with a weak spark. I have heard of the dizzy setup failing when it gets warm. Im not super clued up about how ignition timing tuning works with a dizzy either

I'm doing the RB20ET on a miata, any recommendations or something I hve to address in order to make it right 😅❓ Im hoping to get 200 to 250 hp is it possible on the stock turbo with a tuned Reprogramable ECU ❓
I dont know a whole lot about the factory 20ets as mine is a 20e+t. Probably be at the top end of a factory turbo with 250hp but as long as you have good fuel and injectors it should make those numbers.
