'Top End Wedding' Q&A with Miranda Tapsell & Wayne Blair
Not a likable interview. Eek.
I saw it at the movies when it came out - instant love.
The greatest dark comedy film of all time. It should be mandatory for every film student.
Toni is gorgeous ❤
What a Great movie ❤️
I just wonder if they get bored talking about the film. I think TC does a bit. That said, I never get tired watching it. I saw it October 1994 - I was actually going to see a famous movie called The Shawshank Redepmtion and I missed the start. So we ended up watching this...back in the day. I created a memory from then encoded with wonder, joy, fun, sadness, and laughter from watching Muriels Wedding. I will be for ever bias towards Toni Collieti as a result. To me, it is Austrailia's eqivalent of Trainspotting.
Doesn't make sense. Why would you send your 9yr old child after school to see two back to back movies if your mother was a battler, wouldn't the mother be saving the money if she did work two jobs? 🤔 🤷🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
What happened to the great Sophie Lee?
I forgot Toni was presented with that award that night.... 😂 happy for her. 😪 tears of joy. And hearing her reaction, ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I went to this. It was GREAT! Watching the movie again in a movie house, listening to Toni and Daniel. And meeting them at the end.
Love Toni, loved the film at the time. want to watch it again. I always say 'you are terrible Muriel' to my friends when they do something bad, haha
How can "Muriel's Wedding" be 30 years old ?
Whoever was in charge of casting this movie is a genius!
My wife and loved this film she died but her name was Toni❤❤❤
They have some really good actors in Australia, someone should write a road trip comedy in oz with Nicole, Toni, Cate, Margo, Rebel and Chris Helmsworth, etc.
I saw this film in the theater when it first came out, and it made me laugh and cry then, and it makes me laugh and cry now. One of the best movies of all time.
I am French I saw the movie at cinema 29 years ago now. It was so raw, and Muriel is so real compare to other charactere. Toni Colette is one of the greatest actress and she still looks so down to earth. Probably the Australian accent help. And she is one of the actress which show than beauty don't need to be standardise. She is unique and on the screen she is glowing.
Toni: I hadn’t seen the film…”. If you were in a movie, why wouldn’t you go see it?!!
This movie may not have been a huge summer blockbuster but for those who have seen it Toni Collette will stay in their hearts and minds forever. It's brilliant and it's almost like the role was made for her. Love her
Perry….wake up to yourself!
Wow. I really get what Aisling says about how when filming a movie with scenes like this, how important it is for the actors to have a super solid, good relationship and really trust each other and feel comfortable with each other, because.... my god..This movie has some of the most painful and horrific scenes of any movie I've ever seen, and the reason they are is because of the intimate, deeply personal nature they hold. It's not some gory gratuitous thrasher movie. The pain feels real, and incredibly personal, and you feel it while watching it. I have never had a movie impact me in such a way before, ever. Aisling is phenomenal, she absolutely blew me away and shook me to my core, and how her and Baykali's relationship transforms over the course of the film....is so heartbreakingly beautiful, omg. Storytelling does not get any better than this. Bravo to all who took part in making it
Love Toni
Muriel's Wedding remains my all time favourite Australian film.
I can’t decide between Muriel’s Wedding, The Castle and Pricilla Queen of the Desert.
That damned movie. Along with "Pricilla, Queen of The Desert," "Stricktly Ballroom," "The Sum of Us," "Careful, He Might Hear You," and umpteen other Australian films, compelled my VERY gay boyfriend (lol) to take him to Australia, where we rang in the new century on December 31st in the year 1999. Remember Y2K and that the whole world was going to end due to some software bug? We were in a hotel room in Darling Harbor, Sydney watching fireworks, fully expecting to die. The next day - the first of the new millennium - we flew up to Queensland (Porpoise Spit) to tour the Daintree National Park and the Great Barrier Reef. My partner thought Oz was going to be all about hot guys, suntan lotion, and ABBA. Instead, it was all about hot guys, suntan lotion, and ABBA; and spiders the size of dinner plates on our rainforest hotel room door, giant crocodiles, blood sucking leeches, poisonous snakes everywhere, yes - EVERYWHERE - nasty bugs, vegemite, amazing beauty, and the most fun drunken people who drive on the wrong side of the road. And ABBA always on the radio. Thank you, Toni Collette, for luring two gaybies with an American Express credit card from San Francisco out of their comfort zone. Yer turrible...
30:00 no dont- Screen australia sucks. UR WAY BETTER JASON!!! avoid them
That film single handedly changed ABBA music from being corny to being hip!
I’m such a huge fan. While working at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills..I was booked to do a massage for Toni... she missed the appointment no one from the desk called her room to see if she was in her way..didn’t want to disturb a celebrity. When she remembered she’d missed she called to apologize and asked but why didn’t you call me ... OMG I woulda of loved to have given her talented body a massage.. I woulda totally geeked out in fandom. I’ve seen LITERALLY every thing she’s been in ❤❤❤❤❤
She is such a good actress. One of the few really.
Très bon film
blablabla
Is Dan hot or what??!! So sexy

He is so good NCIS LA is a kick ass show , rewatching it right now
words cannot explain how much i love her. i knew her from the show 'unbelievable' and fell in love with her. so i watched a couple other movies/series she has been in and my love grew, she is just soo beautiful and i'm in love with her. i hope i can meet her one day 😭💗💗💗
can the interviewer stop interrupting?
6:55 very distasteful joke
Love Toni, she is amazing
Smashing film, one of my all times faves for sure.
i just adore her. such a great talented actress!
I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHO TONI COLLETE WAS UNTIL I'VE SEEN THIS MOVIE, I KNOW I'VE SEEN HER SEVERAL TIMES AND NEVER PAID ATTENTION TO HER UNTIL I'VE SEEN MURIEL'S WEDDING. I DIDN'T REALIZE HOW BEAUTIFUL AND TALENTED SHE IS UNTIL I'VE SEEN THIS MOVIE FEW WEEKS AGO
God, tell me about it! after watching unbelievable, where she is in, i have watched multiple other films, like 'in her shoes' and the sixth sense. She is defenitely my girl crush 🩵🩵
I watched a doco with Benny and Björn who originally were not going to let them use their music but eventually did and I quote Benny “ I REALLY LIKED that movie, really liked it”
I'm an American, and before Muriel's Wedding had no experience really with Australian Cinema. It not only helped me fall in love with the amazing Toni Collette, but Australian Cinema in general
I saw Toni in Soo Many American films I didn’t realize she’s Australian lol 😂 such a Amazing Actress deserves more Awards ❤
This man was a prophet for 2022
Modern day Roger Corman with slightly bigger budgets.
You're terrible Muriel.
watched this again last night! all time favourites! from N.L. Canada. Toni Collette is so right for that award! that movie will live on forever!
This movie was very good, because it shows what it's like to be the girl who everyone walks on. The character of the father was very narcissistic, and in this film, we can see how this impacts Murial. And she played the role so empathetically. Every cast member did a terrific job, and made their characters more three dimensional, so to speak. This also shows the great work that the director had done. A lot of insight bringing these characters and their situations to life. Even the hair pulling during the fight scene. Seemed like the real deal 🤣 So many deeply sad moments, yet also some very encouraging breaths of fresh air, because this film is just so relatable. 👌
This film came up on UA-cam and what a treat, loved every second of it...I went to see it in the Cinema, with my older sister, who had came back from Sydney. We watched it here in Ireland when it was released, all them years ago...My three sisters lived in Australia for a few years, when they were in their early twentieth....This film has all the elements, sad, happy, great story line...Watch and enjoy. Regards from Ireland 🇮🇪 💚
