Love these cute slippers. I’m gona have to try making them for my granddaughter who is expecting a baby in a couple of weeks. You are a great sewing teacher. By the way do you have a video on how to make the bows? They make the slippers!

Unfortunately, you lose me at "and then I roll, and that I grab that right under my finger" - I'm not tying a knot at all 🙈What detail am I missing, here?
No worries you're not the only one. My students in the classroom say the same thing! Once you create the X with the threads, roll the X to the tips of your fingers (I have to lick my fingertips for it to work 🙄). Then don't let go of it and sort of keep the rolled mess under your pointer finger nail. Then with it under/near your fingernail pull with that same hand towards the end of the threads-away from the needle. I hope this helps 😊...

@@amandarocha5249 oh I sewed that on my older machine and don’t recall. But you will feel the tension if it’s correct as you pull thread through the tension holder if it’s too tight, it’s not good.

I'm new to sewing so I'm trying to understand technique choices. If I understand correctly, you sewed the sides with the wrong sides together after you add the zipper. This would leave raw edges exposed is that right? However, the seams did appear to look finished and neat nevertheless, so is that due to the fabric used? Just hoping to make sense of why this step wouldn't be done wtih right sides togetherand then turned inside out. I appreciate the guidance!
@@nonstopshopgal thank you for your comment and question. If you watch the tutorial carefully, in the beginning, you will see that I placed the two bag body pieces right sides together and I sewed a quarter of an inch seam allowance all the way around leaving an opening. I turned that right sides out and that is what gives the finished edge to the bag.

Please clarify the confusion for me with respect to the use of pinking shears v. slits with scissors for the curves, is one method better than the other or will either achieve same result?
@@SoniaScrapbook pinking shears: cutting the edge of cloth to prevent it from fraying; slits: helps the curved part of sewn seams turn smoothly

Not sure what you mean because it the reversible hobo tote that prints out.
