I Made A Rookie Mistake | 23 Year Old Truck Driver
So they allow dogs?
thanks for the insight bro !
I drove for them for 8.5 years and 2 years I was a trainer. Really enjoyed the time with the exception, some times there was a requirement for driver unload. Drove for 8 hours and now I have to off load a 53ft trailer. But overall it was fun. Went to 48 states and also Canada. Also this was back in those days their policy was to drive at 55MPH.
Worked for a Schneider bulk (tanker) as my starter company from September of 2018 to April 2020. It was a ok company. While I left for a much better paying job once I had good amount of experience, Schneider really worked with me in the beginning when I was struggling with backing and they paid me a fair wage for a 1st year driver. I think it was 42k for the year of 2019. I was OTR & worked really hard for that money. I knew I could make at least the mid sixty’s if I left. Didn’t know if at the time but I now earn around the 100k mark. It’s percentage pay as a employee. I bring that up because if I hadn’t gone to Schneider when I did and learn to drive Manuel transmission trucks ( Schneider still had manuals) and learn everything tanker I wouldn’t been able to get hired where I am now, which I’m going to keep private. If everybody knows about a good thing it doesn’t stay a good thing for long. The guys (TE’s) at the Coraoplis PA are good people. Most of them that is. There’s many worse companies to choice than Schneider. But that said understand that Schneider is using Rookie drivers a cheap labor and Rookie drivers are using them for getting driving experience. If could give any advice I’d say make sure you learn to drive a Manuel transmission in CDL school. When the time comes after your first company don’t be afraid to leave for a better job. Just make sure it is step up and not a step sideways. For example Schneider bulk to Quality Carriers ( tanker) is a step sideways. Schneider to Sheetz fuel hauling division is a big step up.
DOES Sheetz take no experience drivers? My background check failed. A damn marijuana charge. So they didn't accept me. I was about to follow into your footsteps and do bulk tanker. After a year I was goin to go to Pilot! I'm so bummed out! Should I try Prime inc"s tanker instead. I really wanted my first trucking job to be tanker so I could haul fuel after a year. Please write back.
Wooow this video is horrible

Was with Warner for the Summer/Fall this year. OTR teams is all they had for me. They are really fair and the training is adequate. Saw 30 plus states. Now I’m back home w local account with a different company. Werner was a good starter company and I may work there again someday if a different account comes up in my region. Werner’s Tablet is very straightforward. Was in a 2024 Peterbuilt. Beautiful sleeper. No face cams. Radar, collision avoidance and lane departure systems. Blind spot detection.
