Her face at 2:05 is so pained at the thought of any of the suitors being her new husband, but she can’t just tell them to get out. It makes the fact that Odysseus’ hearing all this and can’t tell her he’s RIGHT THERE so much more painful! I also love that she has white in her hair, like time didn’t just affect Ody!

I love this so much! I think its my favorite one yet!

I just adore how you show them back to back, but separated by the pillar and with the light and shadow. Ody is so desperate to just reach out and hold her, tell her he’s there and it will all be okay, but he can’t because that would ruin the plan. I like to imagine Penelope starts to sing Anticlea’s line of “waiting… waiting…” because, like Ody’s mother, she is very tempted to herself just wade into the ocean and let it take her, but the only things holding her back are the desperate hope that Odysseus will return, and her love for Telemachus.

The crying of Odysseus and Penelope when they are separated by a column, when he realizes that Penelope has been waiting for him for 20 years and taking care of their kingdom, all these long 20 years of separation, violence, longing, blood...I'm not sentimental, but these shots upset me. And the fact that Penelope's door is locked from the inside...It's a scary but true detail...

Aaaaaa, just the idea of them being SO close but unable to talk to each is the kind of heart ache that suits the saga perfectly. The animatic is great throughout, real solid pacing and you do a great job displaying everyone's emotions in both expression and body language, kudos!

Like legit how do you animators do this. Like legit I'm curious. Do you like listen to the songs snips and predict what happens in the gaps. Do you draw the new parts intermixed? Or do you just start sketching everything down while you're first listening to the songs. I NEED ANSWERS!

This may be one of the most done songs for animatics so far, but I am SO HAPPY IT IS. Because this song can be interpreted in MANY ways and it’s SUCH a gorgeous song. Odysseus being there isn’t fully new, but this is so unique, Odysseus is hearing everything she’s saying while she has no idea, and he’s not heard her voice in so long, he’s been through so much, you can tell that it’s pure relief that she’s not fallen out of love and that she’s in fact been *waiting* for him AHHHHHHH 😭😭😭😭😭😭 I could watch 30 animatics of this song and love every single oen
