@chrislee1099 hey . So i was able to get it charging using the Dc to Dc charger so dont think that the temp was the problem and it is charging from the solar also. I am convinced it is a problem with the Noco charger. But just to test the theory i will bring the battery inside the house let it get a bit warm then try the noco again and see if that makes a differnce. Will report back with an update.

Renogy Kit is a good alternative if budget won’t stretch to Victron Been using Renogy B2B and solar controller for 2 years, works well My 240v Charger however is Victron, IP22 which was on offer at the time. Excellent kit

I was the same before I started traveling around in my campervan, and realised the really beautiful place Scotland really is , there where so many places that I had no idea where right under my nose. plus wild camping in Scotland in your van is so much easier here than in England I believe.

I might be mistaken, but I think that bifacial panels have to be angled so that they get reflective light on their bottom side. So mounting them flat would only give them half their rating.

Just checked online and it says: Disadvantages of bifacial solar panels: Optimal conditions: To operate most efficiently, bifacial panels require specific conditions, such as suitable reflective surfaces beneath them. Installation challenges: They may require special mounting systems and greater distance from the ground. So looks lile they do need a specific mounting system and reflective surface underneath. Still looking into the efficiency ratings. Will let you know when i get an answer from renogy. Tjanks for pointing that out. Good to k ow these things.

@@SuperBlobsterMan no. that will not reduce the amount of watts . but you can put a space between the roof and the panel to let the sun light reflect on the roof to the back of the solar panel

Hi and thanks for watching the video. Good Idea will be one for the fututre i think, i already had the 2 x100 watt panels so was cheaper just to add the 2 more, but agree 2 x 400w would be much better. will look into that. as for the Lifepo4 batteries i am a bit on edge about , they are alot of money and i am not sure of the improved benefits of having them? have you used them? in your opinion is there a good benefits in using them? i am still doing my research on them.

I do have lifepo4 for over 10 years, you won't believe a difference, it's a must,now days fairly cheap,buy as much you can and no power problem for at least 10 -15 years,keep up a good job✌️

Definitely lifePo4 as you can use 90% as against 50% of an AGM or Lead acid. So you almost double your useable AH. I went for Eco-worthy. You also need a DC - DC battery charger when you do the changeover as anything else could kill your alternator. Your solar will probably not be enough for winter. ( I kept three gas burners as I have never been a fan of single hobs. 😊 )

@@GioVanni-uk thank you so much for the advise. Definetly learning alot more about lithium batteries. I think i will have to bite the bullet and upgrade to lifepo4. I will look onto the eco worthy ones. Have you a recomendation for amp hours. I assume because we are getting 100% we could go for less than with my AGM . Thanks for the comment.

@@TheTravelingHutchisons we travelled as a family of 5 including the dog all over,my kids are grown ups now and say they were the best days. Now doing the same with the grand kids. Lifes to short ,i know the exact spot you stayed. Keep making memories with your kids in the van. I have subscribed to your channel. I also have a self built and love getting away. Bye the way my wife enjoys our van to but packing her stuff for a surprise outing wouldn't be my best idea lol .all the best

exactly and that is the point , we are planning to be doing long stints across the UK and Europe so the reason for doing this is to see if we can keep out the way and as unnoticed as possible in our Big van , and to find out if we do get asked to move on or if they just let us stay with no issues. One night is not going to be the decider though i am going to have to do this many times in different supermarkets, public carparks and streets to see if we get moved on or not. and i can then also make changes to the van to be more stealthy . Or it may be that i get moved on to much because we do stick out like a sore thumb and in that case i will need to re adjust my thinking of where we will be able to park up on our travels. keep watching for more videos coming up. and who knows might even be some drama if i do get the dreaded knock in the middle of the night LOL. @@TheTravelingHutchisons fair enough but you can tell immediately that it's a camper. Be aware of supermarket carparks etc cause if they are run by certain companies they are awful to deal with and will take you to court. I got stung when we had to rush to hospital at 2 am with my youngest I didn't pick my wallet up before we left cause was a mad rush so had no way of paying for car park in the hospital. I sat in supermarket carpark out the way for an hour they got me on camera and cause the sign at the other end of the carpark said no out of hours parking I didn't stand a chance. I downloaded an app called park4night which maybe a safer option instead of a hefty fine maybe other apps to look at aslo. Hope you don't have much trouble it's something I want to do at sompoint do some off grid exploring especially where we live in Cornwall so much to see and enjoy.

@ollywebber9850 . some of these companies are heartless mate, thanks for the Heads UP . St Ives/ Cornwall is our most favourite part of the country , we try to come down at least once a year. definitely get exploring it worth it.
