Drinks With Dave
Приєднався 1 бер 2023
HI, I'm Dave. I've spent 20 years working as a professional bartender. This channel purpose is to keep me connected to the world I loved and dedicated a lifetime to. My hope is that even though I am unable to create or serve drinks behind the bar anymore, I can still work some magic virtually. So with any luck I'll meet my goal of keeping things fun, light-hearted, a bit informative and easy to follow.

How to Make Essential Classic Whiskey Cocktails
I love an Old Fashioned!
I love that you give the history!
The outtakes are outrageous with this muddled brain. Reacquainting myself with the history as I go!
Some good ole fashioned fun. Happy Thanksgiving sir'!'
Nice bro.
I feel like I need to get all the basic and foundational drinks in , and what better than an old fashion to start with.
Good proper approach. Fun to mix it up with 1/4 oz strong/bitter flavoring like Campari, Chartreuse, Amaro Montenegro, Aperol, absinthe, etc.
A little absinthe fixes everything right up for sure!
Wow really learned a lot as a virgin drinker... I love the classiness of cocktails, the quality of this video and the content is really good!
Thanks for that. Im really sick and things are hard for me because of it so making these videos is very difficult but rewarding. I appreciate all positive feedback.
I appreciate you just getting right to making the drinks!
thanks! im trying!
I never understand why vodka is ever in the chat here. Dirty martini should still use gin, and vermouth. Just adding brine. And never shake it. And use some dirty blue cheese olives. If you’re gonna go dirty get filthy.
It's so strange to me the difference in how the internet portrays vodka vs what it's actually like to work in a bar. - bartenders know this. I'm a stirred gin martini guy, but folks love an over diluted watered down vodka with a half bottle of brine. - oh, BTW, sun-dried tomatoes chopped in with the blue cheese elevates the olives, I highly recommend!
@@drinkswithdave will add that next time.
Can’t understand the dirty Martini: the original is so good!
Cool video 🎉.
Thanks! I always feel like I miss a lot when im done, but there is only so much to fit in less than 10 minutes.
Great thumbnail!
Thanks man! Learning and improving!
It's amazing how tastes have changed over time. Honestly I think a wet gin martini is a better sipper than a dry vodka, but to each their own!
1st day of Fall is today. Seems like the perfect occasion to give it a try! 😎
Just keep those jiggers out of the bar
You're starting to look more like a male instead of a g h a y, good for you
What restaurant?
Nice to see you again
Thanks! I wish I could make a vid a week, but health is preventing. It's always nice to be back when I can tho.
Beautiful and I love the back story.
The same guy invented the espresso martini!
Glad to see you
It's been a while.
Love the video. Two questions. How long does fresh lime juice last in the fridge and how long does simple syrup last in the fridge?
Great question! I would not let lime juice go past 3-4 days in the fridge but honestly, same day as needed is always the best. For Simple, at just a 1:1 ratio Id give it 2-4 weeks. But syrups that are made with a higher sugar content can last quite a bit longer. ive herd people say 6 months, but I ' trust that and my syrups in the bar never lasted that long anyway. IF it feels or looks iffy, toss it, cause simple is... simple!
A friend described this drink to me and i didnt believe it
And did you try it? It's so good.
My cousin started an apiary and I too have too much honey, now I have options!
You could always get wild and make some mead! Good news is, honey lasts forever :)
Which set you recomend ?.🤔
☹ It's not pronounced mishelada. The "ch" is pronounced the same as in the word "check". Please don't say mishelada, it hurts my ears lol Mi - che- la- da
It’s disturbing😂
Great quality video. Instant sub. You should be over 100k
Thanks! - and sorry for the late response. Ive been sick and havent been able to get to the messages. Im hoping someday the cannel will take off. Appreciate the sub.
add 1 cup watermelon juice to 1+cup sugar and boil to make watermelon syrup
sound good!
Nice!!
Thanks!
I'm not sure if I'm more excited about the watermelon Joe or the cilantro jalapeno! You use the same spec I do for the classic marg, except one thing. I use a combination of .5 oz. of Cointreau and .5 oz. Agave for the sweetener. Next time I will try it your way to compare. A little bonus orange flavor and alcohol could be nice!
You've got to make 'em first - tweak them how you like them. Both were equally as popular when I served them
I should probably go with the frozen mango so I don't drink it too fast or you will wind up naming one after me too!
Brain freeze has a protective effect!
I'll take the Watermelon Joe please
I dont blame you!
Man, you're making me thirsty! I'm gonna take a stab at all these over the summer. I've got a pal who's all about chocolate margaritas, is that even a thing?
I have to admit, I have never heard of that. Sounds really interesting. Chocolate ones well with agave spirits in the right recipes.
Would definitely try the last two 😋 also great job editing! The camera skills are insane!
getting better! Thanks. BTW, the watermelon marg is sooo good in the heat.
Margaritas are my favorite. The pineapple sage is fantastic! Yum 🤩
I heard from a bird you like coconut lime...
I genuinely want to know what your favorite margarita recipes are! Please share in the comments if you have a favorite I didn't list! Cheers!
Dave I hope you’re ok
Thanks.. My health Tok a pretty nasty turn for the worse, and it extended into spring. I'm just now starting to stabilize and arm working on some studio changes and planning my next vid!
Your seafood michelada it’s way better with oyster sauce and minced onions it’s called a Picosita.
Never heard of that, thanks! I could do a single recipe episode with that. Sounds awesome.
I'm gonna try that mezcal michelada soon 😋
Delicious
I really like how you presented the distinction between the different orange liqueur brands. Tommy's Margarita wins for me, dependent on the tequila.
thanks! This is one of my favorite vids so far on my channel! personally, I like the Tommy's the best too!
Good video man really nice aproach and vibe
I like it to find some Cocktails with Cachaca. By the way, you got the measures wrong in the video. 1 oz = 30ml, not 60.
Thanks for bringing that to my attention! I'm still learning on the editing and make mistakes sometimes. cheers!
Great job Dave! I loved it, you are so great at all of these! 👏 ❤ 🍹
I love the morsels of history baked into these videos!
more like crumbs...lol. But in my next one I ll try and sever up some appetizer sized bits.
I have not had this spirit since college. May have to try it again!
its never too late to revisit! Im not even sure why I made this video, I just thought, may be a caipirinha.. nah.. lets do these instead!
I've been sick for a few months, but finally pushed myself to get back into swing of things. If you've got a favorite Cachaça cocktail, let me know!
Well done video, budd.
i think xx has better color to it sick video
TY, I've been gearing up for a lot more videos, thanks for watching!
Thank you Dave we are opening up a Michelada Ceviche tiny restaurant on the main highway to the beach in Guatemala and this will be our drink menu!!!! Then some kick ass ceviche and tres leches cakes to finish them!!!
That is awesome! are you serving liquor as well?
I love a Oaxaca Old Fashioned! I note there is an error in recipe in the description. It calls for 1 ou Lemon Juice instead of 5ml agave nectar.
Thanks, still learning with all the edits, its a lot! ill get that fixed.
