    A Tommy's Margarita isn't a margarita, it is a tequila sour. Margaritas are in the Daisy family of drinks, heck, it even means Daisy in Spanish. By definition, Daisy drinks are spirit, citrus, and orange liqueur. Any sweetner other than an orange liqueur makes it a sour, not a Daisy.

    I never understand why vodka is ever in the chat here. Dirty martini should still use gin, and vermouth. Just adding brine. And never shake it. And use some dirty blue cheese olives. If you’re gonna go dirty get filthy.

    • @drinkswithdave
      @drinkswithdave 3 місяці тому

      It's so strange to me the difference in how the internet portrays vodka vs what it's actually like to work in a bar. - bartenders know this. I'm a stirred gin martini guy, but folks love an over diluted watered down vodka with a half bottle of brine. - oh, BTW, sun-dried tomatoes chopped in with the blue cheese elevates the olives, I highly recommend!

    Love the video. Two questions. How long does fresh lime juice last in the fridge and how long does simple syrup last in the fridge?

    • @drinkswithdave
      @drinkswithdave 4 місяці тому

      Great question! I would not let lime juice go past 3-4 days in the fridge but honestly, same day as needed is always the best. For Simple, at just a 1:1 ratio Id give it 2-4 weeks. But syrups that are made with a higher sugar content can last quite a bit longer. ive herd people say 6 months, but I ' trust that and my syrups in the bar never lasted that long anyway. IF it feels or looks iffy, toss it, cause simple is... simple!
