Переглядів 51919 годин тому
Today we are dropping the Buck 110 TIP down on the Concrete in the name of science. A commenter claimed his 110 broke simply by dropping it in thr carpet. So concrete should fill in a voids in terms of variables. Concrete is 9727% harder than even the hardest carpet. So let's go...will the Buck survive or will we bury it ? #droppingknives #edc #damaging #breakingbad

Buck 110 - 420 HC - Rockwell Testing ( 5 dent avg)
Переглядів 1,3 тис.14 днів тому
I'd like to thank Big Brown Bear from @FearNoSteel for stopping by and pointing out that we really need an avg to conclude an actual H.R.C. In this video we put that to the test! We're poking the Buck Folding Hunter 5 times and tallying up the avg. Then we will take that avg and compare it to each individual poke and most importantly the first poke, which generally reads higher than the other p...
THE TOUGHEST SUPER STEELS KNOWN TO MAN !
Переглядів 91014 днів тому
Today we talk tough ! Charts are pulled directly from @KnifeSteelNerds and we thank Dr Larrin Thomas for the information provided. We aren't looking at expensive steel...instead we are basing this solely on how well a knife performs as a stand alone steel in the category of toughness. Making knives has affirded me education that I would have otherwise overlooked simply as a collector. I have an...

I bought a Buck knife at Wal-Mart. The centering was WAY off; the blade scraped the side of the scale taking it out. I had to return it, and I HATE returning stuff. So no more Buck knives for me. I never had to return a Spyderco.
I broke my dad's buck and I'm pretty sure he wanted to cover me in gasoline and light me up he loved that thing more than me
What a great knife. I carried the original dlc/s30v for a couple years straight. Love it! Thanks for the chance!
Love buck knifes one of my most collected knife brands in my collection. I believe if buck were to make the 110-112 with a liner lock and a pocket clip in all of their different 110-112 variants the knife would be even more popular
Thanks for your content. When I bought my first Buck 110, Gasoline was around 50 cents a gallon.
@@MrGratefulEd you bet. Thanks for watching and participating.
I’m a true blue, hard working American and I don’t hate Buck knives just never wanted to own one. Except I had a nice fixed blade model that I gave to my brother-in-law. Buck 110 cuts, that’s for sure, but I don’t need to carry 7 1/2 ounces in my pocket to do that job. My PM2 in S90V does just great at half the weight and 3x the cutting power. But if Walmart has a sale on them, I just might burn some gasoline to get there and buy one.
@@Blueski888 i get that 100% . The ounces don't bother me much , bit I am enjoying carrying this 3 oz bareknuckle. I've been known to carry a 10oz satu. Maybe being 230 lbs ...I just don't notice the weight. But the lightweight stuff usually leaves more room in the pockets for other things...and I can appreciate that.
Its because they also collaborated with China.
Thanks for the heads up. Somehow, I missed that video, but I'll try to find it. I guess I haven't had as much time to watch YT lately. And It has been forever since I have won anything. It would be great to break my bad luck streak on this one.
Just my opinion. Why I dislike buck knives: they never stayed modern. The 420 steel is antique and bottom tier. 2 hand opening. Have to wear separate case. What i appreciate about buck. USA made. Inexpensive. Personally I prefer a pocket clip and a usa made sypderco.
@@mapleknot3 i like spyderco too. I would argue that buck has done some pretty impressive modern designs though. The marksman g&g hawk collaboration in s45vn is pretty cool and on my short list. The sprint pro , again in s30v or s45vn...bugout killer if you ask me. The 110 is offered with a pocket clip, magnacut, s30v, s35vn, and I think s45vn. They've done some things that are worthy of mentioning. Most if the tike it doesn't take front page though. There's a lot of great competition out there. Many of the things that people wish they would do...they've been doing for a decade. 😎💪 Thanks for watching and weighing in.
you kidding???? Buck rules!
I love my Buck knives.
Wicked awesome brother
Thank you for a chance
Gas is more than a Buck a gallon
I'm sitting here sharpening my buck 110, blowing up my phone on UA-cam and shit the bed, what show's up but your video...... Got out of the Marines Jun 71, l don't remember how long after, but I've never been without one ever since, I'm on my 5th, broke two, one got stolen and the police got one, gotta be careful around them big City cops, them ol' boys got no sense of humor........ The one l got now, I've had for a little over 20 years..... I sharpen it, oil it, rub the wood with bee's wax and polish the brass with an old 6000 grit polishing disc........
@@charlesbailey5846 that's what I'm talking about. Thank you for your service.
Kershaw, uncle Henry. Had buck worked loose in no time. My Kershaw is over 20 years now and still works. Yes it is beat up.
THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love my Bucks, gasoline truck, and freedom.
@@apkpicker 🇺🇸 amen
Gasoline knives? But love by buck 110 had for ever
Guten Tag Herr Ford and Frau Courtney 😂
I have a 110 that I’ve had since 1975. The first knife that I bought with the money from my first real job. I carried it for years, used it as a hammer, tore up the case crashing on a skateboard, all kinds of things I shouldn’t have. It just took it. This was before they rounded the edges off. All square edges. I still have it, but it is just too heavy to carry today. I generally carry smaller knives now. Unfortunately everything is about trends today. What is the new cool knife? Thanks 🎸🔪
I'm guilty of loving the new trends too admittedly. I just picked up a kershaw Belair for my wife and a kershaw launch 16 for me.
Yeah been seeing a lot of Odenwolf knives on some channels. Decent RHC numbers on 440C ! Amazing if not made in China. They getting cheep labor in Slovenia or somewhere ? Look forward to seeing y'all test them.
I don't have a clue about the labor cost but they claim everything is made in Germany
Wow these are really well priced, I think I'm gonna pick up their W Scandi. It looks like practically the same knife with a scandi grind for $40. If they keep their prices that competitive I think they will do very well.
They do have incredible prices
Good stuff bro
The Buck haters dont like them because they dont use the new fancy super steels that "never get dull" heaven forbid they have to sharpen their knife. I personally would never spend $200 on a knife. $140 is my limit and thats for vintage never been carried in original box German made slip joint.
@@Heavydutyrocknroll i understand what you're saying. I almost picked up a buck 110 with a pocket clip, micarta scales, and s45vn until I saw the price. I wasn't giving 250 for it.
@apex_alchemy_knives yeah I really wanted that same buck 110 till I saw the price as well but they sure are nice aren't they.
@Heavydutyrocknroll they are nice , but if I'm spending 250 ...I want some one handed operation. I know 1 handed is possible...I did it a few times but you know what I mean.
thanks for showing
👍
Thank you for your tests,I really appreciate it!!
@@greekveteran2715 you bet
Gasoline hey, I noticed it came down in price right before 11/5 but it wasn't enough to save the folks who are responsible for it being almost $4 @ gallon.
@@MrMrmetro funny how that works huh
I bought Kershaw for years. Then I needed a warranty for one. No help! I had a Buck with a problem and they made it right without hesitation. Buck is an exceptional company. I will buy any USA-made Buck at any time. However, I am not so keen on their China-made knives. They don't sharpen well and don't hold an edge.
@@MrMrmetro i get that
Bucks are way better than knives you can pick up while buying gasoline
That’s a great looking knife
Buck is okay. Just vastly prefer my ad20.
@@deadvikingtrolls yeah me too. It's not my go to or anything. More of an acknowledgment of their presence than an argument about them being the best.
So I finally did it and bought a Cold Steel XL tanto PE post sale last week. Like a lot of people I was disgusted with who the company was sold to when that happened. In my testing and eval it performed above expectations as a knife and not a brick , this "expert" evaluation included filleting the top.of my middle finger and feeling it hit the bone after I broke in the action with Fluid Film.and a clean out with Seafoam DEEP CREEP. I came a sneeze of ending up having hand surgery to reattach a tendon😂😂😂
Ouchhhhhh...glad it wasn't worse than it was
I.always hone any knife straight out the box with Spyderco white ceramic with few exceptions. Absolutely no need in that case. The blade weight made it snap closed with decisive power. When CS says to keep your fingers out the blade path they ain't joking😂. I felt the bite and like a complete idiot, I jerked my hand away
This shocked me looking at the title, myself, I have never had a problem with buck knives love them. Love me some buck knives. I am 68 years old and I approve buck knives. 👊💯🇺🇸
The Buck 110 is an all time classic, very old school, but a good knife is a good knife ! Enter me as well, thanks
Benchmade ...great for snapping under pressure and alienating a customer base like Little Bill Dagget in Unforgiven😂😂
Greatttttttt Movie bro
The Buck 110 is a classic ! Not my style at all, but a classic is a classic ! Count me in ! Cheers
Spyderco do great work using so many different steals, and getting the best out of them
Just here to say I love Buck Knives. I literally just got a Buck 110 from the Buck Custom Shop in the mail yesterday. The Buck 110 may be my favorite knife of all time and I carried nothing but Spyderco and Benchmade for about 10yrs. I always find my way back to the Buck 110.
Gasoline …. Btw
I absolutely love the smell of fresh gasoline in the morning….Also Bucks are super solid.
Just subbed! Cheers man.
I just wanna see gasoline prices under 2$ a gallon again 😢
Me too.
Im from Michigan and Im not aware of the hate. Not going to find a better company than Buck. Awesome product , great company...
I don't hate them, but I stopped buying them when I kept breaking them. Yeah, they replaced most, but I was still without those knives for months.
I've had a lot of knives and wonder where my Buck knife went. My flavorite Kershaw and Gerber knives aren't made anymore. Like drop blades especially for skinning deer. Thanks for the tip Wal-Mart sells Buck even though I prefer Tractor Supply (they can't keep knives in stock around here). Got my stocking stuffer lined up.
I've had my Buck 110 ever since my 21st birthday. Got it from my parents. I'm gonna be 52 in a few weeks I collected knives that were Cabela's versions of Buck knives they were really cool. All my hunting knife combos by them I gave to my nephew for deer hunting and I kept my filet knife for fishing
Opinel, good metal, fair price, yeah I know it's French but they did it right.
Some knives look like they run on electricity, but I prefer the brands that look like they run on gasoline.
Buck , Gasoline in my veins heh :)
