    Gun control? You only need to look to the UK to see the slippery slope. After they banned all the guns people were using knives and swords. Now they banned knives and swords. Do you think that changed anything in the UK? Nope! There's always ways around laws. Criminals do it everyday. If you really want to stop the violence? Enforce the existing laws, or even strengthen them. This revolving door system that we have might make the Liberals feel good, but it certainly doesn't make them safer.

    Even if the 2nd amendment did not exist we would still have the right as persons to keep and bear arms because we are born with our rights. Our rights do not come from the state or the Constitution for that matter. If the second amendment means that only the militia had the right to keep and bear arms, it would have said that. But it does not say that, it says the right of THE PEOPLE to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. The clause points out that the militia is needed for a free state.

      Actually without the Second Amendment, there would have probably been a more restrictive amendment put in place later and still can. The 18th amendment was repealed with the 21st amendment. 24 years later I believe. Close to impossible sure can't rule it out forever.

    Let’s see I have more firearms training and hands on experience per year then the average soldier who shoots live rounds only a few times a year in training, or police officers who shoot 4 times a year, or national guard who shoot twice a year. So I think my proficiency in firearms is far more well regulated. And I recall having to join the emergency national militia before I was given the right to vote…it’s called the draft. It means at anytime for any reason for 30 years of my life I can forced to take up arms for my country. That is the roll of the militia. I think that counts so as long as we are 18 years of age and can be forced to go to war I count as a militia and keep my firearms

  • @jjr6929
    @jjr6929 9 місяців тому

    If you think the 2nd Amendment is referring to a "National Guard" or something.....do yourself a favor....read the Bill of Rights -witjout the 2nd-- from the 1st, 3-10.....they ALL describe individual rights..NOT state or federal rights. Therefore read the 2nd as the same.

    This is an EXCELLENT video that perfectly encapsulates what your betters (Leftists, especially in Hollyweird) want you to think. Absolutely every single solitary thing our intrepid attorney said was 180 degrees the opposite of truth. Too long to dissect completely, but let's do a couple. The prefatory clause: A well regulated militia. At the time the Amendment was written, "Well Regulated" meant simply "ready to go". That means the militia had to be ready to go having a rifle and ammo that were in good working order so they could respond if called upon. So what is the militia (certainly not the military as was stated)? It was all the able bodied men between the ages of 16 (18 in some states) and 45 (60 in some states). Don't you remember that the Founders thought that a standing army was a bad thing? So how could you possibly think that they meant military if they thought having a standing military was a bad thing? So clearly we do want to "pay precise attention to the words in the Constitution".

And the bastards that hold that power. The Government is made of people. Period. Humans. Not Gods. Greedy, corruptible people. And they fear the people the most. Take their guns and speech and you’ve taken them out of the equation. to be fair, a well regulated milita at the time of the founding fathers had a different meaning. regulated back in the founding fathers, up to the mid 19th century, was "to keep in working order" and the milita was at the time not a national guard or army or anything military related, but referred to the people arming up against a invasion force, rouge government or the common thief, which is later referred in the 2nd part of the 2nd amendment. so in reality, when the founding fathers wrote that in, the translation meant "healthy able bodied men of good character, necessary to the security of the free state, the right of those to keep and load arms against enemies foreign and domestic, shall not be infringed" thats the second amendment in a nutshell, from one autistic male. have fun debating in the comments~!

      The "well regulated" didn't mean a formal army. And the defense of the free state meant free from tyrannical government and conquest. To overthrow such dictators, the army is useless since mostly it will side with the dictator. To overthrow them, you need the people.

    So let's just unpack a portion of the rambling emotion filled word vomit. The prefetory clause that he says is completely ignored is not ignored. They understand that words have changed meaning over time. Well regulated does not mean regulated by the government as that wasn't the intended usage of the words. They were used in a different context at that point in time. Yes, regulated does stem from Latin, which has the modern interpretation as well. But words have had different contexts throughout history. At that point in time, it was used to mean in good working order. Considering the entire purpose of the 2nd amendment is to avoid and fight a tyrannical government, why would they write a regulatory statute into the amendment itself. This, of course, can also be verified by the plethora of letters we have from the founding fathers that show exactly what they meant in the 2nd amendment. There is no question of our rights being violated when they try to disarm us. We have a right to personal and governmental freedom.

  • @ModeratelyAmused
    @ModeratelyAmused Рік тому

    It's just a show but there is definitely some Hollywood mental gymnastics in saying "the well regulated militia" has to be ignored in order to form an argument that citizens have the right to bear arms. Because it states WHY after the fact. THE PEOPLE must be armed in order to protect themselves from their own government. If the government has guns and the people do not, that is what is called tyranny.

And, by the way, white people have 14th amendment rights, Jerry. You'll need to pass the "No Rights for Whites" amendment through the States. Good luck. Shatner was great. Spadernator was near-great. • @anonymoussources8803

      Right, all able bodied "men", not women, and the founding fathers imposed a cutoff at 45. So women, the disabled and all over 45 are not included in the militia. Also, slaves and native Americans were not included. So if you are an able bodied white guy between 18 and 45, you may keep a firearm.
