VN900 Headlight relay bypass. extended with description
Переглядів 4 тис.3 роки тому
vulcan 900 starter was running after releasing starter button, headlight was not turning on, acting very strange. after putting this back in the bike it worked perfect! just had a headlight that would always stay on with the key. minor inconvienience for a more reliable bike.

Where is the relay located I'm having the same issue? I have the same bike
Cual es el bendito tornillo que hay que cambiar para que no sufra la vn900 delo que se qma las bobinas
Hmmm, I did this and now the bike lugs a bit in first gear when taking off. I believe this is due to a drop in the oil pressure the motor was originally designed for, which operates the hydraulic valve lash adjusters. So, I think, this upgraded bolt (with the hole) may possibly cause motor damage (eventually) to save the stator. It may not be worth it. I may also be mistaken-but the oil pressure must be lower now with an open hole to the crankshaft.
Hello there, I just watched this video last night, went to the dealership and ordered the bolt with the hole in it, I've been researching how to replace the stator/regulator....and just seen what you wrote about the lugging in 1st gear....I'm not sure what to do now, I just ordered the bolt a few hrs ago $53.16 Canadian, have you had any problems with the hole in the bolt installed? any info greatly appreciated, Thank you for your time in advance.
What is the crankshaft bolt with the oil hole you are mentioning?
I want to watch you replace this bolt. I have purchased one for $47 at the dealership. But don’t know how to remove this reversed thread bolt. Want to watch someone do this but no videos of someone doing this on a motorcycle. Only cars. Please help
Hi there, I'm having the same issue, did you figure it out? any info greatly appreciated, thanks for your time in advance.
Experiencing the headlight problem on kawasaki ex250. Can a normal relay be soldered on the board?
Thanks for the info and the video! Where did you buy the parts, specially the bolt?

Great, now istead of burning a relay you can burn the entire circuit board, that relay burnt because of current now without a relay the hot spot will be on the board and since there is no coil to end the hot spot it will continue until it ignites in flames under your seat, or you can just ride your bike at 40mph so that your stator produces low power only.😮
well we have nothing to lose is a piece of crab to begin with.
I have a 08'. What do I need for it??
Believe it was 2007 and newer, but anything after that should work.
I'm trying to find the bolt with the hole in the middle and is the bolt left thread or right?
Can confirm just bridge the 2 pins, and every time you turn on the keys, headlight will be on just like a normal bike should be. It works on 2006 VN900, and also I didn't have to take the relay off, just simple bridge the 2 pins, hope this helps others as well !
I also have an ‘06 VN900. Headlight just quit working a few days ago. Looking for a fix. I may be doing this.
Hey same bike. But fuel pump gets no power. When fuel pump is straight wired bike runs fine. Relay box issues. Or so I’m told. 08 Kawasaki vulcan 900 custom. I was told it could be the rollover fuel cutoff switch. Or relay problems. Have you seen this before?
I am currently having this issue. Bike fires right up, but no headlight. Will check into this. For reference i have a 2000 800 classic
Can anyone give me the two spec to this flywheel bolt? Also is it a regular thread or reverse thread....thanks
I'm getting a buzzer noose coming from that box.... Any links to what that could be ? Thanks.
Lads is this small hole going thru the whole bolt with same diameter? am I right ? is around 2mm hole?
and where is the return hole you just can pump oil there and there is no return hole?
hello, how to tighten the screw of the hole? how to lock the rotor? Thanks a lot
Where is this part located
I can’t seem to find the relay on mines, where did you find yours
where did yo purchase the bolt
Can you not just keep the relay where it sits and bridge it?

They changed the bolt since 2009. All pre 2015 models have the "normal" bolt.
Can I put the bolt on a 2007 Vulcan 900 Custom?
@@erickyauco Yes, all engines are identical since 2006... except the bolt
@@corneilcorneil Is there a part number or place I can order? THANKS!
@@stevelamar7261 Just go to the Kawa spare part site, chose year 2020 or up and you have the part number. 92154... and some more numbers. Some say the models after 2009 have the 2nd gen bolt, but i saw 2010 and 2012 models with the closed bolt.
What did you use to change the bolt?
