This project was so much fun, and the client's loved it! This is essentially what tile workers will do for bathrooms a lot of the time. It works great outdoors, too! ;) Thanks for watching!

Are Painted Driveways Slippery?
Переглядів 1,9 тис.7 місяців тому
A painted driveway may become only about as slippery as your garage or kitchen floor. But since driveways are exposed to the weather, the surface won't stay smooth but get even rougher as time goes by. Slipping is not an issue. Though, I still highly recommended adding Quickrete medium or fine sand into the epoxy. The sand will slowly settle at the bottom of the bucket/paint pan, so be sure to ...

I see some people add cement patch to big driveway cracks but dont they make an epoxy that works better for that?? Why do I see others use a two part epoxy on cracks?? Does it holds better than cement patch??

Is it possible to resurface concrete that's cracked/chipped, and a bit uplifted spots because of previous cherry tree.

Hi, what kind of prime did you use? I am using a grinder machine on my painted concrete drive way and I believe I need to prime as well before staining?

bro good job i would recommend stitching small heli bars across the cracks also the screed cement mix may crack as it is too thin - you need some expoxy product or sika product for the fairing coat - make sure the paint surface is not too slippery in wet add non slip granules to paint anyway just a suggestion brother - also your getting some reflection from the patches in the sun - need a thicker base coat -

I'm not fond of the painted look and you may get the home owners in trouble with the city if you paint the sidewalk, because they are "public" (AKA Government) property.

Use an SBR, sand and cement slurry in the cracks before putting the mortar in as a bonding agent . If a big crack you can drill into the sides of the crack and resin anchor rebar into it before filling with fine aggregate concrete.

I’ll need to do this over a period of days - even weeks, depending on the weather and other commitments. And because the driveway is in constant use, I’ll have to do one side and let it completely cure before doing the other side. Do you see any problems with this approach?

You are probably better off "painting with portland", for the look. If you want it even whiter, buy white portland cement powder (if you can find it) Easy and very cheap to apply with a paint brush brush. You see, actual paint chips and peels eventually. Portland cement as your paint, doesn't chip or Peel, as long as it is applied thin, not to thick. If it does eventually wear, just reapply it.

My concern is that it appeared you began rolling the concrete paint over mortar patch while it still looked wet. Wouldn't the concrete paint need to be porous to allow the moisture from the mortar to escape? Otherwise I would worry about the concrete paint not sticking well to the wet mortar and coming off in short order.

If a jack was used on the driveway that paint is done. No way it can handle the metal wheels with the weight of the car on top.

Question: can this process be used on a concrete drive that are slabs separated by pressure treated 2x4s? Can the 2x4s be covered. On ours they put concrete nails throughout the boards. Very difficult to remove.

This will only work if the slab has not shifted. If so you’ll need to fill the void and lifting it first. But filling the cracks in this way will not last long at all, maybe a year before the cracks reappear. But overall good job simple

Thank you!! $4 per square foot gets me into a ballpark; then, I either go up or down depending on how bad the cracks & sunken areas are. A typical driveway on most homes I resurface for between 2k and 3k. Biggest one I ever did was about 5.3k
