Solenoid| how does the solenoid works. Solenoid is a electromagnet and when the current passes through a insulated copper coil then the coil behaves like a magnet and the posative terminal connected to the battery becomes north pole and negative terminal becomes south pole.red whire is live whire and black whire is neutral whire.we can know the direction of solenoid by keeping a compass near the solenoid and if it repel then it is north pole and it north pole attracts the solenoid then it is south pole of solenoid.we can actually incrise the power of megnatic field of soleniod by incrising current in solenoid and by incrising number of turns in solenoid.
