    Hi Joe, thanks for the informative video! For the 2 hours worth of separate track recording, I'm assuming that if I were to record a podcast with 3 guests, each of those separate tracks would count towards the 2 hours? For example, if I recorded with 3 guests (so 4 separate tracks including myself) for 30 minutes, that would use up my 2 hours of single track recording (rather than being 30 mins of single track recoding?) Thanks for the help!

    I've been doing an experiment in copying. Watched the Cory Wong UA video about his DI tones. Somehow he gets a rich full high freq tone without it being harsh or plinky. I tried to copy exactly...I even have largely the same plugins used in the video. He seems to go absolute direct into the interface and already get a nice tone. If I go direct into my interface I get a very dull muddy tone. So I'm dead in the water before I start. This is even with the settings on the Strat the same. I compare my freq graph to his...he gets this big high end through 4, 5, 6khz...mine disappears at maybe 2khz...and it's even rolling off madly from 1khz. So no high end. If I try to push the high end I end up with very harsh plinky sounding high end as if I'd mic'd an unplugged electric guitar with a phone microphone. Just tinny and plinky and harsh and stabby. I'm lost.

    Really cool features! But they still ignore the need about a way to organize plugins... I have more than 1.800 names here and it's simply the best translation and definition for the word frustration when I look for a certain plugin... ...there's no way to group them by function, or even a search engine... Reaper has some similar problems, too, but it's waaaaaayyy better than Audacity on plugin organizing...

    Excellent tip. It would be a way to record two identical guitar tracks simultaneously, one dry using a DI and the other with a mic on an amp set at desired tones and drive, for example. I'd think there might be use for something like that in certain circumstances. Thanks for the tip. ....I'm an old retired musician just starting with computer recording. A friend suggested Audacity, and since then, I've run across a number of DAWs I'm considering while waiting for my interface to come in. The inexpensive Mackie interface has great reviews (and they made great sound boards back in my day), so that was my choice. Researching interfaces then Mackie introduced me to Wave Form, a dedicated stand alone DAW. Tutorials suggest Audacity to be simpler for the new user, but some operating videos show a few technical glitches like the one you overcame, plus questions from others... like audio bleed over even with headphones which makes me question this system as a multi-track recording tool. Any thoughts? Thanks for your series. I subscribed and am working my way through it.

    I have a few questions. I'm trying to research to find the best platform to host my podcast through. My first question is the 2 hours minimum. Does that mean each episode that you make has to be under 2 hours in length- and then it goes into One track? Like it's 2 hours per episode right? Not 2 hours a month total. My idea is to make a 45 minute podcast 4 times a month with a remote co-host My second question is, I'm assuming because it's for podcasters that the audio and video tracks are separate? Does the video is very informative And I appreciate you making this for us. I found out that one platform I was planning to use is no longer free so I'm trying to explore free options because right now I'm starting from scratch and I do not want to pay a monthly subscription on a podcast I'm not completely sure is going to keep going.

    • @JoeAtClaricast
      @JoeAtClaricast 28 днів тому

      Hi there, sorry if this wasn't clear. You get two hours TOTAL to test out recording to separate tracks with free. After that 2 hours is used up, you don't get any more separate track recording. It'll be on one track. It's still perfectly usable, it just means you get less flexibility with the mixing and editing. You could still recording 4 x 45 min episodes, they'd just be on one track. Yeah the video and audio is separate.

    Interesting subject. It's important to understand that most introverts are not necessarily shy. Rather, they often need time alone to recharge after social interactions. This is because introverts draw their energy from solitude and quiet reflection. They may feel exhausted after spending a lot of time with others, and this alone time helps them regain their energy. In contrast, extroverts thrive on social interactions. They gain energy from being around people and find socializing to be invigorating and fulfilling. For extroverts, engaging with others is a way to recharge and feel more alive. Recognizing these differences helps us appreciate the unique ways people find balance and energy in their lives. Understanding that introverts and extroverts recharge differently allows us to be more empathetic and supportive of each other's needs. I am an introvert but love to be with people especially if talking about common interests until I need some solitude to recharge
