Oh lord the maintenance. I don’t have time for this. It’s best to avoid buying them, and especially for those with long hair and or pets, once it gets knitted into that Sherpa there’s no removing it. Possibly worst fabric ever.
is there a soft puffy alternative to sherpa? thanks
thanks Laura sherpa can be a mess.
does this work on onsies
I just tried with just a bristle hair brush…it worked…this whole time this blanket just needed to be brush 💀💀💀
A BOTTLE OF WHAT?
What you use make it super soft
Did you do that process after washing the comforter or is this how you wash it and care for it??
Sherpa is so comfy but to maintain it is a huge Pain in the butt! I personally don't buy sherpa items anymore.
I found this real nice suede Sherpa lined jacket but the Sherpa is dirty like it's been sitting at the bottom of a pile of dirty clothes for a year. I don't want to throw it in the washer and ruin the suede. I can't find any videos on how to clean it can you make a video or tell me what to do?
About how long does it take working in one section of a really hard area? I've had mine for 5 years and this is honestly my first time washing/brushing it
Where are You long time I din't see You.
The sinplest yet most laboring way is to wash it on delicate/handwash setting on your washing machine using mild or sensitive skin detergent (tide is a popular choice). This is bc sherpa has sensitive fibers and non mild detergent will strip the fibers. Buy a slicker pet brush from the dollar tree if you do not have one!! I say this because it gives the best fluffing results. After the washing is done, take the material and start brushing until it gets fluffy. I do not recommend using a dyer because high temperatures can destroy the fabric, but if you are persistent on it, use the gentle/delicate/air dry option or put the heat on low. Edit:DO NOT USE FABRIC SOFTENER ON SHERPA! it strips the material of its fibers as well!!! Regular cold water is just as good!
☹️☹️☹️😂😂😂🤭
OMG. It worked on my 1/4 zip Sherpa jacket! Thank you so much, Laura! :)
After watching a few of these, While thinking fabric softener isn't something I want on my skin, and it can possibly collect dust and debris. The oils from our bodies also add to theproblem. So I took my blanket I was wrapped in, and made a 1/8th cup of Vinegar (I use vinegar for the cleanest Windows), and using a fingernail brush, and started working my blanket. I just want to say, thanks for the quick ideas, when I start my Sherpa, I'll probably use the same process. Good luck
Also, my fuzzy blanket is an old throw, and not very thick
Thanks for the video, I was looking for someone with a kings size sherpa blanket as well. I was like nobody is cleaning this huge thing by hand... but you made me believe , n that I can do too lol
LOL!
Your recipe is the best by far. Thx
Got on UA-cam to find how to fix my comforter and turns out we have the exact same UGG comforter lol thank you 🙏🏽
Me too, sane color too 😂
When u take things like this to a dry cleaner next time let them know what u want and they’ll do it 😅at least mine does but Thnk u for this cus I was tryna save money so ima try it
I'm excited to try this! You stated you lived in Colorado, but you're using Hatch chile??? Pueblo grows the BEST chile, give them a try!!
I’m born and raised New Mexican. We were just stationed in Colorado. New Mexico green Chile is superior in my opinion.
So after u did the fabric conditioning, do u put it in a laundry cycle to wash it, or do u jus leave the fabric conditioner on the blanket?? I don’t know if I wanna my skin to touch the fabric conditioner if I sleep in it again..
Elf it's good product 💙 👌
Life is too short. I just stopped buying anything sherpa. Don't know why they still sell it.
Thank you so much for doing this!! I have a ugg king too, I want looking for help and I found your video! Thank you
I know this is a few years old but this has been so helpful for me today! I was wondering if they would be too bulky & annoying for my sensory sensitive son, but couldn’t find any other videos about this online. Thanks so much!!
The ELF power grip primer and Jaclyn Hill lip oil are both amazing!!
I need to order that product! Love your eyes btw!!
I see you got your nose ring changed out, did you do it yourself?
They just restocked the Elf site and anyone can purchase! I just did, I’m not a member. It’s the 27th, they are up NOW! Ordered mine 😒
Aaaww, you had to leave our beautiful state of CO ☹️, and for FL?! Oof, no shade LOL 😆. Good luck with the change & thanks for sharing, e.l.f. continues to come thru! 😍👍🏾
ELF is a winner of course!!! Bye bye Charlotte Tilbury
Ok this is gross and embarrassing but my Sherpa comforter has gotten hard and crusty in spots and washing has not helped. It’s almost as if someone sprayed glue on it. What the heck is this? P.S. I’m pretty sure it’s fake Sherpa cuz while it was expensive it wasn’t an Ugg brand. I had to go with least expensive from Kohls.
Amazing!!! Thanks so much x
Thank you so much we have 2 twin Ugg comforters they were $80 each! I was looking into making duvets for them because of this. I can’t go spend another $160.
Thanks for the tips! I hate matted fabrics.
Wao long time ⌛ ⏲. Nice you bag with your products.💞💞
Oh my fucking god I had my phone on full volume and I just got BLASTED by the intro I AM OUTTA I CANNO-TUH
Catching up!!!
How have I missed these?!
Will thus work on stuffed animals
Definitely didn’t use this on my oodie-
It's not really "cleaning" it. I can only imagine the build-up of fabric softener after doing this several times.
I wonder if this would work in my Nike fleece jacket… desperate 😭
I used a slicker brush. Worked fantastic to get that wooly looking pilling to loosen up. It looks brand new!
Thank you I pulled out the slicker brush and it is working amazingly
Use a little coconut oil warm water
Welcome back 😊👍🏼
For anyone wondering, Yes this does work on Oodies. I didn't have Fabric Softener on hand so I used a Pre Wash/ Pre Stain Remover and that works just as fine. It does leave a faint smell but it still works as good as Fabric Softener plus I heard Fabric Softener could over time worsen the fibres on the Oodie, therefore, you need to buy a new one. It took me a whole hour to do my Oodie but still even after an hour there are still spots that I will need to go over again as it was taking so long for some spots to become soft again. Another tip I learnt was that if you want to keep a Sherpa or an Oodie soft while machine washing. Make sure you wash them on their own with Cold Water, a little Detergent but not too much, little to no Fabric Softener, a cup of Vinegar and on a Gentle wash or if you don't have a gentle wash like my washer then try and see if you can set the spin on a low RPM or just stop the machine as it starts to spin dry and take it out and give it a really good wring out. Don't air dry it in the machine. I've been recently told that it's harsher than a normal spin for some reason. Basically, you only wash it when needed but not as much as normal clothes as the fabric on these tend to turn to shit.
Oh thank god. My oodie is a mess.
can you help me by giving your ig
I will just buy a new one lol
