As an anglophone who grew up in Quebec during the revolution decades of the 1960's I consider myself a refuge from the extreme racism and culture annihilation that the francophones have imposed on the province. The french could not give a shit about the first nations culture and yet they scream about being a victim in an English North America. What a fucking joke. After graduating from McGill, I couldn't wait to leave Quebec to never return like so many other anglophones. I am an 8th generation Canadian and it is a disgrace to Canada that this ethnic cleansing and rewriting of history in order to eliminate history is permitted. The trauma imposed on Quebecers with English names was and continues to be of no small order. If the rest of Canada treated the French like Quebec has treated the English in Quebec there would be an revolt and an outrage. What a disgrace!

Interesting video. Too bad the narrator is hard to understand. Best thing about this is learning the Liberal Gov't has been corrupt since the beginning.

Corporan and Trahan were my grandmother's grandmother's people. They were held captive by the Spanish in Texas after being marooned on a ship for many months. They were starved and had to reaort to eating first, the rats on the ship, then they ate the leather of the shoes. They managed somehow. To GOD be the glory for sustaining them on that journey to Louisiana. Thank you for sharing and GOD bless you.

The Catholic church instructed it's people not to integrate with the maudit Anglais (dammed English) because of protestantism, and yet the protestants in England ended slavery with the abolishment movement, while the Catholic church supported it... Protestants were allowed their bible...

Hmm, I don’t remember hearing or reading anything about (wooden, dome-shaped) wigwams being constructed west of the Québec/Ontario area. We typically think of (bison skin, conical) teepees in association with the Cree, Blackfoot, and other Indigenous people of the Prairies (Great Plains) and of longhouses associated with coastal First Nations. That’s great that Ukrainians, Latter-day Saints, African Americans, and interned Japanese Canadians were mentioned in the history since they’re often left out of other histories. The pronunciation of “Mormons” (Latter-day Saints) sounded a lot like Filipino pronunciation, which was cute. It would have been interesting to see a mention also of the continually French-speaking settlement of Beaumont near Edmonton, though of course several other places, such as Lac La Biche, Lac Ste. Anne, Girouxville, Trochu, etc., were also founded by French missionaries and others by Métis settlers.

Many Ukrainians were also held in those interment camps, and many changed their surnames to English surnames to avoid having their properties confiscated and sent to the camps.

My nana was very poor in NS her dad was a furtrapper with the Migmaqs and there were 7 kids. Her father first married a Migmaq woman and had one daughter, then mother died. He remarried a french woman had 7 kids. Eventually the father drank alot so the 9ldest migmaq daughter took all 7 kids by horse and buggy to Saint John, NB she had a housekeeping job lined up. My nana and her smaller sister had to live in an ophanage they were under 10. Later Marie married the man she cared for his home and kids. There was no welfare then. My nana worked as a fountain girl then worked as a waitress and met her husband he was the main chef. Later they married and opened two famous french bakeries downtown. Nana only went to grade 3, they were kept poor and not educated from 1610 unill the 50s

English language evolved from Norman French and it's now 45 percent French.. it was influenced by Latin and French. . So with English the French language never died. Best you study languages before you try to extinguish one to preserve another. So much bigotry in Quebec politics . Rasists bigots Roman Catholic. English isn't Anglican . It's Norman French. Anglicans have nothing to do with English evolving . Or the English language. 45 percent French. You hear it in French and English spoken

Quebec was never handed over to the French Roman Catholic invaders. It's 5 nations lands . Not handed to any invaders. Founded by natives. The French are not native to this land. It's like purplelooseleaf plant an in invasive species.

To all supporters of Quebec independence from India and Bangladesh : Bohaut dhanyavaad! Krupaya Aabar! Doya kore! Dayachesi! Nandi! Thumba Danyavaadagalu! As Quebeckers, we are really concerned about losing our language and culture. In the game of imperialism, French lost and the English language is a weapon. Thus, bilingual policy is colonial policy. If you give English and French (or any local language) the same status, it makes things easier for English to erase local cultures. Bilingual policy does not open people to the world. On the opposite French need protection as do indigneous languages. The federal government is incapable of doing so but the Quebec government does. Please do not vote against our national liberation movement. The federal government is dishonest and manipulates immigrants to do so.
