Charter and Guided Fishing in Coos Bay Oregon
I just ordered 2 electric reels and unless it’s deep or I got an old guy onboard, I am not using them
Now that looks like a great time. Catching trophy's too! Nice job
Like the video but had to watch on mute. To each their own, I guess
"Feedpile"? Isn't that illegal?
Must be on the edge of Jacksonville. 🙂 Nice buck anyway!
Used to be part of the only charter that would put folks on the big fish out front where you are back in the early nineties. (Captain Don's charters after Don sold the business) The only other game in town was Bill... Mary Kay Charters. Bill was the king of trash fish at Simpsons Reef. He used to pull up the other boats and tell them to get out of his fishing grounds. "Those are my trash fish" 😤 He was known for circling sport boats as if he was trying to swamp them. The Coast guard said one more time and we're pulling your ticket. All that territorialism over tiny black and green rockfish at Simpsons Reef. I wouldn't have said anything but he actually pulled up to me in my commercial salmon troller and tried to tell me that I'm in his territory. So, as you can imagine I pulled out my glock and shot him. (Of course, you know I'm just kidding) But I wonder what ever happened to old bill.
I have a video on my channel using pipe weights
Automatic reels are luxurious and Nice!
We'll see you in 30 days Captain John, we can hardly wait to go fishing with you.
How far off the coast is that?
That captain is about as good as they get for a Lingcod guided trip . He's as good as Tony Spelveda ( Green Waters Fishing ) out of Trinidad California. He offers a long-range trophy Lingcod trip as well . He's a great captain and fisherman as you're going to hire . This captain here is in the same category beyond a doubt. Great job, captain !
Shocked you didnt use an automatic reel for that big one. 🤡
I am very lazy, however watching an automatic reel do the work. Unsure but thinking is one of if most pathetic thing i have witnessed in 46 years of loving in Oregon. Not shocking that Southern Oregon leads NW of diabetes. Lol, too lazy to reel in a fish.
lol I've spent a lot of time reeling in big halibut from 200 feet plus in alaska and wish I had these reels. too expensive. I'll just get a sore arm but I'd really rather have the auto reels.
you have obviously not experienced a tanacom. its not lazy, its making meat piles. and that kind of meat certainly will not give you diabetes.
Using seabass as live bait. Is that legit? We are already having population problems with them.
yah baby just keep hauling in those large females until theres no fishery left.
Glad to see the youtube channel doing good! On one of my trips with you my buddy and I recommended doing more youtube because I knew it would take off with how awesome you guys are. I went on one of the first trips in your beautiful Raider when we had to try and gaff the rockfish out of the livewell, fun times. Fish on John!
I didn’t think it was legal to bait for deer and out in Oregon. Nice buck though.
It is.
Enjoy your video very much. What size of treble hook are you using?
So, if the legal Max limit is 36" how are you keeping those large lings??
@@timcavanaugh1443 I stand corrected! I have seen multiple videos with fisherman releasing Lings over 36" stating that is was regulations.
Capt John is the man! Live and fish in Washington but been following him for years! A pros pro!
I killed a big lingcod like that once and the internet flamed me for killing a big one... nice fish
Bad video. Didn't show the shot or the buck after he was down..weak.
Get outta here with that electric reel BS, ain't nobody fishing on that boat!
Eric don't knock it until you've been out there doing it! 400' of working a pound of lead at depth with 30 40 lbs. of cod comming up is not crappie fishing.
I love it
So nice to see your skills in Action!
I have lived over in hermiston my whole life and i am planing a trip to the coast this year and i am wondering what fish i can use as live bait and if i can use them from the shore
The best fihing I've ever experienced has been with Captain John. We go out at least twice a year and wouldn't consider anyone but Sharkey's. See you in April!
Yes he is the best captain I been with😊
Nice fish Joshua!!!! love this video. Aaron and Mary
Hell yeah!
Man that looks like a blast!!
Good to see some God ol boys from home port watch you guys leave from the docks all the time you guys stay busy and I love it look for us at the dock on the ( big splash ) Great video tight lines my friends
More to come!
What depths were yall fishing? ..and any tips on catching the smaller size rockfish for bait? (Or is it just a matter of sorting?)
You just have to drop a hook into the school and see how big the fish are. Fish of like size school together. Find a school with small fish.
Ur basically using a crane!! That's lame!! As fuck
Did ZZ Top get stage sick?
ok, 28 lbs, but had a 2 lb bait in him.
A 26# ling is huge ling, lol
Your good at math lol
I have fished with Sharky's in the past, always top notch and landed me on great fishing.
You caught my attention because in the early 1990's I would go out in a kayak in the Puget Sound and catch Dog Fish sharks like nothing, however twice I hooked a Seven Gill shark and was taken on a tour of the Sound both times. You have Blue Sharks and Mako so you must be pretty far South in Oregon?
measuring the fish with the bait in the gut seems sus
How would you suggest extraction of the bait??
Dude go to jet before 420 when he walks to the stern there is a tuna that swims under his boat!
Don't you think you should fight the fish , instead of power winching it with an electric reel !!!
I agree they r old-fashioned so they need to fight the fish. It's like puttin an A.I. in boxing. There is no fight, and plus when they where kids a fishin pole didn't have no plug-ins or take batteries. 😢 an it does get boring. There is no excitement. Just my opinion. Opinions are like A-holes everyone has one.
it's likely these dudes don't have the strength stamina or flexibility to reel all day on fish way down and heavy
I invite you to come out and reel 3# leads with me all day. I'll take you for free just to film it.
Yeah rock fishing in SF zone at 300 ft & deeper with bigger weights all day long with weights & fighting fish on rougher days does seriously tire you out
@@sharkyscharters3470 ANYTIME AND IAM 70 YRS OLD fARRALON ISLANDS AND CORDELL BANKS ALL DAY LONG SWEETY

Go with Sharky’s for the time of your life!
It’s nice to see those tags being filled on yard bucks, that leaves the mountain bucks to live to rut again.
You got that right!

Thanks for the comment
A lot of No Hunting signs. Must work.
Great hunt and a great buck. Congrats John
