Great video and glad you had a fantastic flight on this aircraft with BA. I'm doing a similar return journey from Las Vegas to Gatwick on this type of aircraft and booked 20C as it was no fee for me. Looks like the legroom is fantastic. I've been flying premium the last few trips so this is encouraging. Thanks for sharing.

The same thing happened to me twice. Was booked on their A321N in byz and they swapped it to an A320…

I'm sorry about your bad day, but lovely video as always. I never tried ITA Airways business class, just the economy class in both short and long haul which was quite good but not perfect. As an italian, I was happy you wanted to try ITA but yeah, lot of things could be improved. That little sweet is called Cannolo siciliano and your face says it all 😂 you should try it, well, in Sicily, if you want to taste an amazing one. And about the food, this may not sound business at all but I still think ITA should serve a nice hot slice of pizza instead of a sandwich. Could you imagine that?

Have just booked with British Airways to go to Punta Cana. Is there only one toilet for economy? Im sure the seat map was showing one behind the curtain? Were you far enough away that the smell was not over whelming. On long flights, they usually get unbearable . For some reason, the seat guru map is showing economy starts at 26? All the people on their saying which seats are better are from years ok. Could you book as soon as you booked your seat? Ours says 24hrs before? Did they ask you if you were physically able to open the door as its by an exit? Sorry for all the questions, looking for a seat with legroom as my grandsons had a major operation on his leg.

Very nice video. For families, partners, friends the yin-yang arrangement is fine. For solo travellers it's awful. I much prefer the newer BA Club World seats (or other airlines). My problems with the old seat are it's narrow, poor storage, power point very inaccessible, foot rest flimsy and no direct aisle access for window seats (with a few exceptions). Of course it was innovative - but that was 20 years ago. Innovation has to continue! The BA FAs are pretty much always top notch.

I remember when it was first introduced. The flat bed was such an improvement over the traditional business class seat that the benefits far outweighed the minor issues. I did a lot of long haul travel and the best seats were upstairs on the 747-400. Much more space and plenty of storage. 64A & K were my favourites as you did not have to climb over your neighbour's feet to get out! Of course the central two side by side seats had to be avoided at all costs when travelling alone!! I still go on those aging Gatwick 777s for holidays and still enjoy the benefits of sitting next to my wife.

Completely agree with you. I too really like the old product. Great when flying with a partner or friend and your legs are completely unrestricted when seat is turned into a bed. However the aisle seat not as good as the window seat. Great review. Have liked and subscribed

Only flown Emirates business class before, both on the 777 and the A380 so it’s great to see how these compare to BA. Will defo try it some day.

Nice review. Agree with the storage problem. It seems they didn't factor in the lack of access to the drawer while the seat is fully flat. But the design was a novel concept when first introduced.

Great review , I do see that it has some down points but it’s still a nice business class product with great food and drinks , one thing I love about BA is the cabin crew are up there with the best in the world so so polite and courteous of course my own personal opinion. BA are getting more and more positive reviews of late and that’s great to hear as I’m passionate about my home country . Thanks again and so wonderful to see you both back 👍

Top video, and I agree that it's a good way to travel. My only issue was with the cabin temperature; which was too warm for sleeping comfortably (in my opinion). Everything else was fine and I'll probably fly that way again (if I'm using Gatwick). I also agree on the lounge situation in some American terminals, even very new ones. It seems to be cheaper to apologise and issue some goodwill compensation than actually fix the problem.

Hey mate I love your videos. I am hearing aid user too. I have Nhs pair Oticon engage and I have privately bought Phone Lumpy Life which comes with standard bluetooth. Flows Club suite in the past and those seats don't have bluetooth conectivity to inflight entertainment system. How can you do it to watch the entertainment system , knowing that ba provided headphones are crap. Thank you

Interesting trip report... British Airways catering is one area where they are one of the best in the business. Make sure you ask how you want your steak though! The seats aren't actually suites - for some of their flights BA's First cabins don't have a closing partition whereas their business product on the same plane does. It's worth checking the plane you're flying on. A couple of extras to mention - there's a Concorde Arrivals Lounge in Heathrow, separate to the business arrivals lounge mentioned. If you're on a connecting flight, make use of the main Concorde Lounge as even if you're flying Economy to a connecting UK airport, you get use of it if it's on the same ticket. While it's a real shame that BA have removed their Elemis Spa and better sleep facilities, (hopefully these come back after the renovations currently underway), the main Concorde lounge is fabulous, and some of the most comfortable airline lounge seating I've ever experienced in the world in an airport. The couches are genuinely ones to sink into, and you have service to wherever you're sitting in the lounge, so no need to get up to get a hot drink, or even food - yup, you can get your eggs benedict (or anything really) served to your comfy couch, in the terrace area, while you do some plane watching. It's also worth noting that the bar in the lounge makes cocktails on request, and I've even been able to get a White Russian, which I can't get in most regular bars! The other game changer in Heathrow (security and check-in area aside), is the baggage check in the lounge itself. If you're lucky you'll get one of the gorgeous BA branded First wooden fobs, to take away with you while you walk straight through the Millionaire Door (that takes you to the regular security area exit) where you'll be greeted by a wall of sensory overwhelm, but look pretty smug doing some shopping in T5, while having the benefit or not having to roll around hand luggage with you. There's pros and cons to BA's first class product, and flying JFK - Heathrow is probably the few times I'd use it over other airline's products and Newark just isn't the same as JFK. It's not a patch on AirFrance's La Premiere, or remotely close to the proper suites of Singapore Airlines for example. But if you're definitely flying back and forth from JFK and Heathrow, it's incredibly pleasant, and you might not even need the fancy bed facilities given you could easily fall asleep in one of the couches and chairs - honestly, I keep going on about them, but they're comfier than my sofas at home! ....One more thing, if you're a paying traveller and going on holiday to NY for example anyway, for 5 nights or more, then book through BA Holidays. Considering the connecting flights from UK hubs are 40 tier points and the NY flight in first is 210, then the holiday will be a 1000 tier point game changer, allowing you all the benefits of Gold membership, if you can get the last third of the way there and another 500 tier points Sydney is 360 each way, so even one flight and you're going Gold. This is probably where you actually would want to be a paying BA customer on flights such as these, as if you're going from Heathrow to UK hubs enough, you'll always get the benefit of security in no more than 5 minutes, and corridor that is secluded from the rest of the airport through the First wing and First Lounge access (or Gold Lounge as it's more accurately known). If you're taking a few trips to NY (and not buying your flight on Avios), then 5 trips mean you'll get the Concorde Room access as part of the Gold Guest List.
