How To Install Ford E 450 Catalytic Converter
Переглядів 9 тис.2 роки тому
In this video I explain the steps I took to install a new catalytic converter in my 2017 Winnebago Spirit on a #Ford E450 Chassis. My #Catalytic converter was stolen and I didn't want to wait months to have one installed by a ford dealership. This was an easy process that only took me a few hours with basic tools. Let me know if you have any questions about my #HowTo or the way I did something ...
Ford E450 RV how to change spark plugs, coils and air filter for maintenance
Переглядів 98 тис.6 років тому
I made a video i couldn't find online of me changing out spark plugs on my 2004 ITASCA #RV that is a #Ford #E450 6.8L. This is very similar to other engines like E350 Let me know if you have any questions, Thanks for watching.
Is this a model that would've had issues with spark plug blow out? I have a 99 v10 and I saw that they had issues with the plugs blowing out but I'm not sure if they have redisigned plugs for it but I was told it would be a good idea to check the plugs every 10 or 15,000 miles to make sure they aren't loose to prevent blow out.
I am working my way down in temp. Did 53 degrees today! This is nuts, especially holding your head under!
That's what it's about, just incramentally lower the water temp over time and you will be in the 30's if you so choose. keep at it.
What about people that have heart problems. Could it kill ya?
Bro you a real life avenger
Keep going 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Aaron says you’re awesome, and Anne says you’re amazing uncle Kevin!! ♥️
Oh look, another cold plunge video 😂🤦🏻♂️
33° is hot
Haha yeah I should keep it at 32°
Am fr gonna try that :O
GO KEVIN!!! I love your video brother!!!! I love the part where you’re in the water smiling moving huge chunks of ice!! Great job!!!
So proud of you brother … you helped all these people! Awesome job Kev .. keep being you!!
Great job on the video brother!!
This is super informative now all I need to do is get a Tesla! 😆Thanks brother!
Kevin you’re so awesome!!!!! I love you brother!! This video had such a great message about what we saw to ourselves and that it matters!!
Fun fact if you sit still it forms a layer of warmer water around your body making it slightly easier to withstand. So if you want more of a challenge move around a little
Yes very true, moving will disrupt that thin warm barrier.
FYI, my muffler-end piece was really wedged in there and the tapping on that little nub wasn’t cutting it. So i just drilled a hole thru the other side and stuck an Allen key in it, that way i had a tapping point on either side. It came out real quick after that. (It also made me realize how easy it must’ve been to slice thru this pipe in the first place.. damn.)
This vid is so reassuring, thank you. I was about to give $4k to my sleazy (ex)mechanic for this. Found a new cat on eBay for $130 and now I’m in the process of changing. Mine’s much rustier down there but it’s a work in progress 😅
Glad to hear it helped you out, it’s pretty straightforward. It’s well worth saving money on this project.
Its a damn shame you have to take 1/2 the junk off to get anything you actually need to change.
My question is i got one like that how I can drain air out of the slide piston because I closed and I let the switch go the slide star going out
My 1997 ford minnie winnie motorhome will crank but not start. Has new fuel filter. The pump works good. Not sure what else could be wrong. It doesn't seem to have spark to start but it cranks
😮😂
Nice video. Mine just got stolen while on the dealer lot for warranty work. $1500 deductible, and $4647.23 later I have a new cat. Painted bright orange and yellow and just installed a @catclamp. Hopefully I won’t have to do this again.
What a guy! When I saw this mess I almost said forget it, but your video was step by step...terrific. My ignition coils did not come off easily, only two came out "normally", the others split up and as you know, not easy to remove after the top is gone. I improvised a noose with a zip tie and was able to pull out the bottom part of ignition boot after lubricating thoroughly. Thanks for explaining so clearly and enabling the rest of us.
You cant gap the new plugs now a days
Good job.
Excellent video, thanks. Your easy go9jng, relaxed narrative helps us have a moment to absorb each step.
Thanks for the feedback, glad it helped you out.
My catalytic was stolen too. Mmy motor home has a V10 ford engine and it looks very similar to your motor home. This video is so helpful to me. Thank you very much.
Sorry to hear yours was stolen as well but I'm glad to hear my video helped you out.
Great video. I got mine stolen as well off a 2004 e450. It cost over 3k at the ford dealer. What did you end up using for an anti theft solution?
Thanks for your comment. No theft solution under my RV just stored in a more secure area. Good luck with yours
👍👍 great job thanks for the video
Thank you! Someone stole the cat off my Winnebago as well :-/
How much is it cost of genuine catalytic?
It cost me $970 from the Ford Dealership. Have you started your repair yet?
Good job. Will be tackling my 2016 Ford E-450 soon, showing a P0300 code, 66,000 miles.
Thank you, Good luck!
5:57, now it is a good time to spray some throttle cleaner. Don’t forget every oil change to add some sea foam to the fuel tank. Quantity to use? Follow the directions on the bottle, duh!
TWO thumbs up my friend. Thanks for sharing this.
For sure, I’m glad it helped you. Have you started your repairs yet?
@@KevinGreshamOfficial Now that winter is behind us, I'm about to do the job in few days from now. Just waiting for the parts to come in. Thanks again.
Very helpful.
I got one of these things and it's needing plugs. I am so glad Ford engineers make sure consumables that require regular maintenance are placed so that you need to take the whole vehicle apart to get to them. If you went into a Ford V10 engine plant, you would have seen the assembly line beginning with a bunch of spark plugs hanging from a conveyor line. They then proceed to hang the rest of the engine on the plugs. I am surprised they didn't put the oil filter inside the engine block. Not just picking on Ford. I had a '77 Buick Regal (gawd, what a POS). Back plug on the right bank required jacking the engine up to get to it. That or cutting an access hole in the fender well. Had a Dodge Tradesman van that would have fuel pump failures every 2 years or so. After dropping the fuel tank the second time, I pulled up the carpet and installed a hatch in the floor for fuel pump access.
Kroil rocks!
good video, i just had mine stolen by a SOB so i will be doing what you went thru.
Thank you very much. Pretty pricing to have a shop do it for you. I will get geared up to do ours now that you have given some confidence.
Yep saving this one! Ours cut of off in same manner with o2 sensor cut. Thank you for easy dyi video!!
THANK YOU!!!

Why did you only greased the end of the plug boots I meant that's not the part that sticks the inner part of the boat sticks to the plug and they seized up I like to smear the grease with a Q-Tip up inside and keeps them from the season up
I predict early myself always blow out all the dirt from the plug holes before removing the plugs Keith foreign particles some falling into the cylinders plus I use anti-seize on all the plugs because I've known for getting hot and season in the motor so the next time I change them it'll be easier
Unless I was having a miss or throwing a code I would have never replace the coils I wouldn't let the factory ORD motor company stuff on it because it's better equipment plugs need to be change coils don't unless they miss
Great video but I suggest using a top-quality coil because the aftermarket cheap China junk can break down and be bad right out of the box won't last long I've installed them on least Ford Triton motors they usually not good for more than one year
Better yet, I wouldn't change the coils unless they are bad to begin with.
*Never seen one that clean underneath. Hit it with some cold galvanizing compound spray while it's still beautiful.*
Hi I just found out mine had been taken!!Dont know how long it has been.I’m so upset cause I don’t have the money to replace 😢
Thank you!!
very helpful . thank you
