Your point about Eriksen is absolutely correct. He brings United so much calmness and quality on the ball and can thread passes to create. His assist for Amad against the Saints was exquisite. But, don’t you think his physical abilities might problems for United, especially when out of possession?

Not really. With Bruno and two wing backs running their socks off and a solid back three Eriksen does enough. He may not be tackling left and right but he cuts off passing lines and uses his experience. Often i find Bruno to be to hectic and erratic spreading chaos in the United team. He needs someone to create balance. That person can be Eriksen.

@ mainly to create set pieces scenarios from open play. But also due to the lack of players who can consistently receive inside the block. So wide progression becomes safer against transitions.
