Gas tank straps is what to look for. I think the hardware should come with it. Amazon or ebay. Trunk floor just wire wheel it and paint it.

i know this is old but all you had to do was crack injector 1 and 3 to bleed it

Straight 6 CDI diesel is OM613, the V6 CDI becomes OM648

My guess is it’s getting hot cause all the fins on the a/c condenser and radiator are folded over! Get a radiator comb or replace the a/c condenser so air can flow thru!

While you're at it.... There is water drainage opening to the immediate left of the alarm. While you have the fender liner off and car jacked up, check those openings for blockage. I could see his was wet, and there were small leaf branches coming from his drainage opening. He should have cleared it thoroughly while he had the wheel and fender liner off. Water that trickles from that particular drainage opening when clogged can travel over to the siren and short the system....

Wait... this thing has batteries in it? I have a really old 2005 E220 and the fob no longer works for it. Wouldn't care, but the problem is I have to use the manual key to unlock the driver door and the alarm triggers EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I want to use my car until I finally get the key into the ignition slot. I plan to just remove this unit, I can handle the lights flashing until I put the key in, but the alarm is a big problem. Now I am worried if I remove the alarm it just will go haywire and start blaring non-stop or whatever... I live in Germany and making noise is like committing a very serious crime here. WTF can I do now?!

Base model non LS Caprice. And a 4.3 V8. 5.0L TBI came out in 89 for Caprice. Also fun fact...the 94-96 "Impala SS" are actually all Caprices. Just have the WX3 tim package option.

i found a build sheet in my 69 Camaro back in 1985 .being a dumb 18 year old kid i threw it in garage can .lol

the build sheet would have been under the rear seat if it had one after all these years. i think the RS had a bubble bee stripe that wrapped around the header and finder extensions

9:40 I have a CLK-220 CDi rocking an OM-646 and the injection pressure is 2,000 bars. 11:01 Yeah swirl-flaps $uck but luckily my 646 does not use that tech. Egr is the culprit in killing the flaps, exhaust heat plus all the gunk/sludge from egr will destroy the mechanism. 5:04 Also have an old 190-D with an OM-601 and the injection pressure is 130 bars(Lol), I think the OM 601 602 and 603 series (ala your sold W-124) differ from the OM 604 605 and 606 series(ala your W-210) in that the former have 2 valves while the latter have EDC (Electric Diesel Control) 4 valves per cylinder. Btw there's a W-210 E-290 Turbo Diesel that uses the old 1980's OM-602 5-cylinder bored and stroked from 2.5l to 2.9l with direct injection as opposed to 602's original in-direct. And also a W-202 C-200 Diesel using a 1980's OM-601, am guessing both were marketed to folks who were accustomed to the old non-electronic Merc diesels that were virtually indestructible, am sure your W-124 agrees. Heck I've seen 601 and 602's running on cooking oil with no modifications at all. 12:37 CLS-Class also has your Sensotronic Brake Control

Two complete separate ignition systems (2 distribs, 2 coils, 2 sets of plugs) and 2 starters are for RELIABILITY which is absolutely paramount in a FIRE TRUCK. You don't want to have to sit around waiting for AAA while a building is burning down.

Does it suppose to smoke only at start or can it do it while idle

Wow, thats a beautiful Caprice with low miles and it is just soo clean! I had a 91 Caprice Classic painted in gun metal gray as my daily driver for 12 years in Finland, I sold it back in 2020. Mine had the 305 and it had 220000 miles on it when I sold it, i put about 60000 miles on mine. I like the rear tire skirts and the interior better on the early models but the baby LT1 and the 5.7 LT1 were just sooo much more better than the 305 and 350 TBI motors, they just had more power and gave better fuel economy. I now daily a 2000 Grand Marquis that has 43000 miles. My Caprice had the police suspension, the dealer that sold them new here ordered every car with the police suspension. It was really nice to drive and felt more solid than my Mercury, I was planning of getting a 350TBI and stroke it to a 383 and make it wild but I never had the time to do it...

Hook it up to obd scanner to see oil pressure, if you had no oil pressure that thing woukd have blown up.

Does your not have the fuel pump at the front of the block?
