recently changed heads on a snare and it was my first time tuning a drum. the trick is really as they say to crank up that reso head. I had it wayyyy too low and after seeing a bunch of videos where everyone says that the reso is probably too low, I cranked it up and it sounded fine after that

what kind of application you have been used brother.

For me, keep the batter head tight and the snare side even tighter, then don't overtighten the snare wires as this chokes the tone!

I love this device. I tuned my snare really high with a drum specialist and got a great sound and it no longer needs muffling. Now when I measure the sound i do get different measurements. Sometimes I get 176 or a little over 200 and one time i even got 386 on my top head. How do i know which htz of measurement is accurate?
