As I said, I like Orgia Mode not only offensively but also defensively. The defensive part is often incredibly overlooked, and not using HP to deal damage is great. I’ve also never had any issues with her AI, she always appears to use the most effective move she can in my experience and definitely reads the enemy’s resistances to strike or pierce. I had her one shot 4 phases of Nyx on merciless just with her regular attack in Orgia Mode. Obviously don’t use it when the enemy resists her moves but other than that it works very well. Yes the initial hit is weaker but I believe the stronger attacks following it plus the defensive benefits balance it out. Her Theurgy charges pretty slowly anyway so Maximum Firepower can’t really be spammed, and outside of Nyx the fight will probably be over before Orgia Mode ends at endgame, so the lack of Theurgy charge isn’t a problem. You’re right with that case of Insta-Heal but that’s very niche and rarely ever occurs, I personally have never come across that situation in actual gameplay. Plus, what is she gonna slot over it? Diarahan? Dekunda? Ehhhh… not really missing out on anything useful endgame. With Ken’s +100HP/SP spear, he gets more tanky and his half SP threshold is higher too if you’re worried about his SP. Trust me, even through the longest Nyx fight you could imagine with Invigorate 3 he will not even come close to losing his SP even starting under half. And for Tartarus he’ll likely be gaining more SP than he’s losing anyway. You don’t need Vile Assault and I honestly wouldn’t recommend it on him at all, the damage isn’t great and Ken can throw out SP all he likes. For pierce coverage in Tartarus you have his spear and Ken’s role isn’t dps anyway.

I have also done several runs of Nyx, and Primal Force was never enough to take out a phase without being at least charged. Are we both talking merciless? Because I can assure you even at level 99 Primal Force and Myriad Arrows alone were not enough discounting charge and crits. And yes I had both Pierce Boost and Pierce Amp. And once again, it’s not all about damage anyway. The cool-down is also instant with the legs, and the armour that gives these effects is also very good, like one tier below the highest defence/evasion ones. Did the enemies you’re talking about also null strike? Because if they null both of course it’s gonna be useless. I’ve never experienced that if the enemy is susceptible to one or the other. Ken not having rock bottom damage does not mean he’s meant for the life of a dps-er. Having more damage than Yukari and unoptimised Mitsuru is really nothing special at all, they just suck lol. His support options are just far more effective than any damage he can give most of the time. Of course I throw out Light Amp Makougaons every so often but he’s never going to shine as much as the physical attackers with way better damage. Yes Divine Retribution spam also sounds good on paper but Divine Intervention helps everyone, especially physical attackers, so much more. Ken being an enabler is incredibly effective, he can do some damage but it just isn’t near the best in the game and that doesn’t matter, he has way more important roles to fulfil.

@24hr-Gaming I mean yeah that's what I said, if charged of course Primal Force can one shot a phase. But Aigis has no natural charge and has a low crit rate so the norm is damage in the 400s at level 99 on Nyx (Koro Power Howling and Fuuka Revelation is not gonna be active most of the time). With orgia mode and no charge, even her regular attack can oneshot most phases in my experience, you just have to play around the physical immune phases which is pretty easy (also sidenote is her charge really that fast spamming physical? It never feels like it... I'll believe you since youre likely right there, i guess im also using her support skills too much and i'm used to abusing Ken and Akihiko, so I'll give you that). The orgia improving armour only affects defence and evasion anyway and that doesn't matter endgame, her damage is the same, but with orgia's benefits for longer. It's given me plenty of success anyway. I guess we just have a different philosophy when it comes to playstyles: Ken's damage will never match the other good party members (RIP magic users) and he has amazing support options that can especially support physical attackers, so I like to just focus on that. At the end of the day, both of our build preferences give plenty of success and suit our playstyles. I just find orgia mode very fun and I like that strategy, and I'm willing to sacrifice null ailments since she has insta heal and she has room for it in her kit anyway. Pure support Ken has proven incredibly useful to me moreso than any other party member, maybe it's different in your eyes. I'm not trying to tell you you're wrong, just sharing my own preferences. My favourite part of these games is the variety in builds people use based on their own playstyles. Maybe you prioritise big damage number potential and that's completely fine, it can be fun to see Junpei get a mega crit for example. I think outside of a speedrun, there's no 'optimal' party (outside of just including physical damage because dear lord they did magic dirty). I dunno if this whole thing on both comment sections seemed heated or not lol but I enjoyed it, it's like a really sad 'academic debate' lol. Well, ima go dream of touching grass now, have fun lol.

Crit Amp’s damage buff is pretty irrelevant for most Tartarus fights since their HP isn’t enough for it to really matter (it does matter in bosses though), and the protagonist is likely going first and can easily get a higher crit rate on multi target slash moves, like on Siegfried who is required for an Elizabeth quest. Junpei is good in Tartarus yes, but he’s very replaceable mid to late game in that role. My overall experience with him is very hit or miss, even with Koromaru and Crit Amp he was very inconsistent with crits in my experience. Plus if someone’s unreliable in damage I expect them to be better on the support side at least, but he just isn’t. Sometimes he busts out these monstrous numbers in fights and other times he just falls completely flat even with Apt Pupil and Revolution, so his average dps in many fights just isn’t great. Someone like Akihiko is just way more reliable for that role, and he’s not shut down if the enemy resists physical as a little bonus. Ken isn’t meant to do damage at all, trying to build his dps is a waste, I’ve tried and it’s completely ineffective. He doesn’t contribute damage directly but what he does do is enable that damage. Having a full heal and complete protection allows you to go ham on any fight with basically no downtime. His Heat Riser can reset buffs on characters that need it since sometimes you really don’t need everyone to have buffs to be efficient. Akihiko really appreciates this for example. Ken’s ultimate defence and support enables the ultimate offence safely for everyone else, including the protagonist.

Junpei does good damage early game yes, he does good damage the entire time but it’s just far outpaced if he’s not critting. Also I’m talking about regular Tartarus enemies here, the protagonist is pretty much always going first with a fast persona barring Koromaru, and Junpei’s agility isn’t amazingly high or anything. You don’t need debuff sand all that for regular old enemies you’re ambushing at all, and the protagonist has a much more consistent crit rate. Same thing kinda applies to gatekeepers and monad bosses at that point, they aren’t that tanky if you’ve got crit cheese. Ken’s ROLE is not dps, he’s best as a defensive support and enabler. His damage isn’t great as you’ve said, so why focus so hard on it? And why hold it against him in that case? Yukari seems like she was meant to have some damage focus with her Tranquility but she’s also more support, Mitsuru is clearly meant to be magic dps but the game just does magic dirty so yeah it’s fair to judge at least Mitsuru for her dps a bit more. Ken has more to offer outside of damage unlike many other characters.

And am currently playing both p5r and p3 r at the same time. (And yes it is a lot of hours being put into😭) but thank you.
