    Great numbers!! I'm glad you know the numbers because most don't. As you grow and hire the important numbers when marketing will be stuff like customer acquisition cost, lifetime value, and church rate (how many clients drop off). The $405 average ticket is great because 30% is $121 so as long as a solo tech is done in 4 hours they're happy or two techs done in 2 hours.

    Great info! I am giving serious consideration to giving this business a go. However, I am very hesitant when it comes to being up on ladders. I am a big guy. 6'4" 260. Going up 2-3 stories just doesn't seem like a bright idea for me. lol I know water fed will help in that regard, but realistically, the ladder issue can be a problem I am guessing sometimes. How often do you have to go up ladders?

    • @hallmanwindowwashing6484
      @hallmanwindowwashing6484 Місяць тому

      @@domecenter2522 thanks for watching! I understand your concern! I never go up that high on a ladder. That’s why I invested in waterfed. If you learn how to use water fed appropriately it does a phenomenal job. The most ladder height I will go up is about 15 to 20 feet and that’s most of the time on the interiors. Really tall living room glass. But there’s also ways to do that from the ground as well. Let me know if you get into it and I can help you get set up with everything you need to get started as well as water fed when you’re ready. If I can do it, anybody can.

  • @sobek4206
    @sobek4206 Місяць тому

    Couple of quick tips from a business advisor (myself). When canvassing, always try to avoid closed questions. Use open ended questions when speaking with potential customers to gain more information and get a conversation started. Sometimes the information comes from the things they don’t say as much as what they do say. Always keep your cold approaches as unassuming and low key as possible. No one wants a hypo “Disney employee” trying to high five them and be their best friend. Be courteous and professional, have a one liner or two in your belt to pull out and get a laugh. If you can get a laugh out of someone in the first 30seconds, you’re half way there. Also avoid apologising for disturbing them. Don’t say you’re the best at such and such. “We’ve got a growing business and get great feedback from our customers, so we must be doing something right! So looking to see if you or other in the neighbourhood are looking for professional services. How often are you getting your windows cleaned by your current provider?” Or something similar would be a decent approach. Branding is huge. Everything you said about lawn signs etc; spot on. Get professional brand collared T-shirts too. Logo on breast and back with contact details. The one you have is fine, well designed, got your details on there, but could look more professional. Also for you specifically, as I can see you’re trying to grow a social media following by giving out advice to other entrepreneurs (too work), use it as others have done. Is there retired veterans in local area? Old people living on their own? People low on socioeconomic scale? Who can you help out for free and use the social media to highlight this work (in a non bragging/look what I’m doing for social media clout - not suggesting that’s what you’d do but it’s a thin line to walk ) and grow the brand that way. Giving stuff away for free is a great way of growing brand awareness. Keep up the good work. Stay strong and throw 💯 at this and you’ll get out what you put in. You got this. Liked and subbed to help the growth.

    Great topic! 1. It's important to not allow people to book your days off. Easier said than done though. 2. When you hire and put down the technician hat you then pick up the trainer hat, onboarding hat, coach hat, and do hard things you didn't do before like firing people, and dealing with more stress while making less money (for a season of time). The stress of overbooking and doing all the work is different than wondering if your employees will actually show up today, and wondering if your marketing efforts will bring in enough not only for the technicians but also for you as the owner to make a living too.

      Agreed. I understand roles will change. I have had my eyes on the future last couple years and my head game is every job I can get, every client can propel me. Also with 4 months off yearly pretty much it’s hard to not work weekends knowing come November or December I’ll be pretty dead. I’m ready for the hat change no doubt. Building the teams and personnel to get this machine rolling so I can step back casually a little more every year. I have more than enough jobs for me currently and I have a 0 marketing budget. Confident once I do it’ll really ramp up for employees. Goal is 500k in next two years.
