Great video! Random question, did you use your personal number when starting out? I am looking at starting up but not sure if I should get a separate business line for calls for window cleaning
@@BrettKrysan I did and I wish I wouldn’t have! I’ll be separating them next season!
@@hallmanwindowwashing6484thanks for the reply! Are you going with a voip phone or something?
How? Do you have a video what is the proper way to use waterfed, like clean frame first, or how to do colonial/French windows?
@@americanboychronicles it’s winter here where I’m at so not a ton of waterfed going down but I will put this on the list!

@@Misticalevolution thanks for watching!
Great video as always! Love watching your videos! This is my first year in the window cleaning business. Luckily I have money put away for winter but I am excited to continue this journey
You got this! Thanks for the compliments! Every year it builds and builds!! Next years gonna be awesome! 👏🏻
Great numbers!! I'm glad you know the numbers because most don't. As you grow and hire the important numbers when marketing will be stuff like customer acquisition cost, lifetime value, and church rate (how many clients drop off). The $405 average ticket is great because 30% is $121 so as long as a solo tech is done in 4 hours they're happy or two techs done in 2 hours.
@@windowcleanersofbrandon yess! Thanks for the contribution! I can’t wait to see what 2025 brings! 🤙

I understand it saves you time with wiping after wash, but does it clean well? Sticky stuff?
@@americanboychronicles there is attachments that you can get to really help get off any sticky residual or bird poo that may be stubborn. But these brushes do a fabulous job and getting pretty much anything off that doesn’t need a razor blade.
@ also I like that it helps with upper levels, tired of. The ladder. It will be my next buy, what name for this equipment?xero?
@ xero is great but this is Tucker USA! Everything I own is Tucker waterfed wise, I love it! Great warranty and customer service. I can get you 10% off too! Save my number 269-568-2327 and I can help when your ready figure out what you need! A lot of factors go into it!
Appreciate your knowledge and giving personality. Definitely want any equipment, tips, daily life, mistakes/lessons, pricing, etc. videos. Thanks again and look forward to your content and the channel growing. Best of luck to you, your loved ones, and your business. PS Aware you’re a busy family and business man, but try to take time to make chapters or time stamps for future videos. I don’t mind the long format (it’s literally free info to better your life), but attention spans these days are scary short.

I hate door knocking, hired girl a year ago, brings her 2 kids in a wagon and sells 4 a day everyday....I give her $60 for a $249 job...she starts at 10am and finishes when sold 4 jobs is done...leave flyer for people that say no or not home....they do call later

Hey Man I’m currently working a 9-5 but want to start a business that doesn’t have high overhead such as this business and want to get started and need a mentor. I want to start out part time such as you did before I go all in. Do you allow people to reach out and ask you questions man?
Is there any certificates needed to star this business ??
Great info! I am giving serious consideration to giving this business a go. However, I am very hesitant when it comes to being up on ladders. I am a big guy. 6'4" 260. Going up 2-3 stories just doesn't seem like a bright idea for me. lol I know water fed will help in that regard, but realistically, the ladder issue can be a problem I am guessing sometimes. How often do you have to go up ladders?
@@domecenter2522 thanks for watching! I understand your concern! I never go up that high on a ladder. That’s why I invested in waterfed. If you learn how to use water fed appropriately it does a phenomenal job. The most ladder height I will go up is about 15 to 20 feet and that’s most of the time on the interiors. Really tall living room glass. But there’s also ways to do that from the ground as well. Let me know if you get into it and I can help you get set up with everything you need to get started as well as water fed when you’re ready. If I can do it, anybody can.
Yup, 💯 inspirational
I noticed you never ever use a ladder. I understand why you wouldn’t have to on the outside but what about the inside? Even if I was strictly doing pole work on high windows for the inside I would still need a ladder for certain window 🪟🫨
@@cebolla7260 I bring it out when necessary. Rarely. But I’m usually solo, no one to record! 🤣 I have a stack ladder! Great tool!

@@alxdava2004 I don’t carry a pressure washer with me. Good idea though I you are someone who does! Just don’t hold it to close, a lot of screens are brittle!
Genius bit of kit! Whenever I’ve holidayed in Florida those things get so dirty and without that kit they would be a pain in the arse to clean 😂
@@sobek4206 invaluable!
Couple of quick tips from a business advisor (myself). When canvassing, always try to avoid closed questions. Use open ended questions when speaking with potential customers to gain more information and get a conversation started. Sometimes the information comes from the things they don’t say as much as what they do say. Always keep your cold approaches as unassuming and low key as possible. No one wants a hypo “Disney employee” trying to high five them and be their best friend. Be courteous and professional, have a one liner or two in your belt to pull out and get a laugh. If you can get a laugh out of someone in the first 30seconds, you’re half way there. Also avoid apologising for disturbing them. Don’t say you’re the best at such and such. “We’ve got a growing business and get great feedback from our customers, so we must be doing something right! So looking to see if you or other in the neighbourhood are looking for professional services. How often are you getting your windows cleaned by your current provider?” Or something similar would be a decent approach. Branding is huge. Everything you said about lawn signs etc; spot on. Get professional brand collared T-shirts too. Logo on breast and back with contact details. The one you have is fine, well designed, got your details on there, but could look more professional. Also for you specifically, as I can see you’re trying to grow a social media following by giving out advice to other entrepreneurs (too work), use it as others have done. Is there retired veterans in local area? Old people living on their own? People low on socioeconomic scale? Who can you help out for free and use the social media to highlight this work (in a non bragging/look what I’m doing for social media clout - not suggesting that’s what you’d do but it’s a thin line to walk ) and grow the brand that way. Giving stuff away for free is a great way of growing brand awareness. Keep up the good work. Stay strong and throw 💯 at this and you’ll get out what you put in. You got this. Liked and subbed to help the growth.

@@windowcleanersofbrandon Thank you sir! 😎👍
If you Van is long enough .......Try putting your ladders underneath the inside of the van roof ... i put in 2 heavy duty steel beams ( those with the holes in ?? maybe they are 6 cm x 5 cm ) and they are secured from one side to the other side , i have 2 you may need 3 and just slide my ladders in and out, they are strong and work FAST.. or you could build a floating floor and the ladders slide in and out at the bottom of the van.....
specific question here lol. Wym when you say your business started on facebook for clients. You made a page and joined fb groups? I've done some door knocking and had no luck so I'm considering other approaches for clients!
@@nathanmckinney8801 hey! I started a biz page and asked friend and fam to like or follow and share to get word of mouth started. It was easier back then but I’d still do so to gain some publicity and post daily. You can also join business groups in your area!

hi can you tell me where you get your t shirts from I really like them and we don't have anything like in the uk cheers keep up the good work with the vids
👍🏻
Great topic! 1. It's important to not allow people to book your days off. Easier said than done though. 2. When you hire and put down the technician hat you then pick up the trainer hat, onboarding hat, coach hat, and do hard things you didn't do before like firing people, and dealing with more stress while making less money (for a season of time). The stress of overbooking and doing all the work is different than wondering if your employees will actually show up today, and wondering if your marketing efforts will bring in enough not only for the technicians but also for you as the owner to make a living too.
Agreed. I understand roles will change. I have had my eyes on the future last couple years and my head game is every job I can get, every client can propel me. Also with 4 months off yearly pretty much it’s hard to not work weekends knowing come November or December I’ll be pretty dead. I’m ready for the hat change no doubt. Building the teams and personnel to get this machine rolling so I can step back casually a little more every year. I have more than enough jobs for me currently and I have a 0 marketing budget. Confident once I do it’ll really ramp up for employees. Goal is 500k in next two years.
