I put a two stage pump on my ek 308 . Had to buy a different adapter for the kohler engine and love joy coupler for the new pump

How to get the ram closer to the wedge

Hopefully in the past 6 years you have changed the exhaust orientation. It's not good for anything to have the hot exhaust gases blowing onto a hydraulic hose. These things were a fairly advanced bit of gear way back when. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Chris, I have both the through hull inlet and the leg pick up. The leg pick up is giving grief as shown in your video. I was thinking of doing away with it and use the Block Off Kit-Water Passage p/n 818304A 1. Which essentially blocks the connection at the transom. Any thoughts.

UU is either Fuel or battery related. The fuel pumps go out on these generators due to salt build up. This unit needs to be run as frequent as possible. I suggest you buy a fuel pressure gauge to mesure the pump. Any questions call me at 305-318-1259

Split thousands of tons with one a little older. Mine has the reservoir on the opposite side of the engine, newer models like yours it is an integral part of the frame. My Dad sold firewood and as soon as I was old enough my job was to sit straddling the ram and run the lever. A loud "Hit it" and a backward hand motion were the signals. Now my 6 year old has my job and I yell "Hit it" and give the backward hand motion. Fashion a block slim enough to fit under the return cable to put between the back side of the ram slide and cylinder anchor to limit the backtravel, that way the ram will not have as far to extend.

very cool! I started a FB group called "lickity log splitter" group. Should be a fun group to share info, tips, tricks, maybe even parts.

It shouldn't be too hard to find a pump. Either google the part number on the existing pump or if you want to go with a two stage look at similar sized splitters to find what size pump they use. Surplus Center has lots of pumps.
