    I think Norm forcing it plus him being a focus from the other team, is probably not going to work out that well. I think he works best when there is another star, he is not solely focused on, and he can just get it when it's there instead trying to make it happen.

    all the clippers except norm played well when it mattered. its unfortunate but bad nights happen and its ok for norm to have bad games now and then, happens to everyone. turnovers killed us as usual. give thunder credit, but idk what the solution is to fix this problem. kawhi will help, but clippers seem careless with the ball too much this season

    This game was a tale of 2 halves, Norm really missed James gravity and the Thunder where able to hound him on defence because of it, nothing you can really do against the best defence in the league. KPJ and Mo where alot more servicable today, it would be foolish to see this as anything more than a positive outlier, hopefully they can build on it tho. I hope we get clarity soon for the Kawhi situation, i'm still doubtful until its fully confirmed he returns

      @modjo5284 День тому

      @@ClippersTalk @ClippersTalk, sorry for the long message, but there’s so much to say! Thank you for your feedback! Mo Bamba has shown good things in the paint, but he still needs support, like that of Kai Jones, whom I consider more of a power forward than a true center. Let’s assume you’re 100% right. If you agree, let’s add Kobe Brown to strengthen the team and provide more stability while Mo Bamba finds his footing. When Mo Bamba loses his bearings or gets disoriented, it’s crucial to have someone like Kobe Brown to step in and maintain a solid presence inside. Mo Bamba played better against the Thunder, but he needs to focus on his role as a center, especially for rebounds in case of missed shots. Sometimes, he finds himself at the three-point line or on the sides, as if he was told to stay there and not move. This is not his main role. He needs to stay close to the basket to be more effective. The presence of Ivica Zubac in the paint is a major asset, and Mo Bamba could learn from his game. His three-point shots are a bonus, but he needs to focus on his main role in the paint. When Kevin Porter Jr. or Chris Dunn drive into the paint, it’s crucial to have someone inside to grab the rebound in case of a miss. Mo Bamba has enormous potential and can really help the Clippers if he focuses on his role as a center. Sometimes, he seems to hesitate between playing inside or outside, which creates confusion. He needs to focus on protecting the paint and not get stuck outside. Other teams take advantage of this to penetrate the paint, which complicates the Clippers’ defense. In offense, it’s the same process. Mo Bamba needs to stay close to the basket to be a passing option and to grab offensive rebounds. When he sets screens, he needs to reposition himself inside to maximize his impact. When he stays outside, he’s not as effective, and the team loses an important presence in the paint. He needs to focus on his role as a center to maximize his impact both in offense and defense. Opposing teams often take advantage of the gaps in our defense, and inconsistent refereeing doesn’t help. More cunning teams exploit these gaps, and that’s where we need to be more vigilant. Mo Bamba really needs to focus on his role to avoid these situations.

  • @Marronage2
    @Marronage2 2 дні тому

    I’m no math wiz but the whole points per possession thing is silly to me since you can’t get fractions in a ball game. In your example if a player shoots 10 shots (all 2 pointers) and makes them at a 50% rate said player always gets 10 points. If that same player shoots 10 3’s making em at a 33.3% rate said player ends only ends up with 9 points the majority of the time. So even though a 3 is worth fractions more per possession the game doesn’t reward that. It’s make or miss.

    • @ClippersTalk
      @ClippersTalk 2 дні тому

      respectfully, it's not a make or miss league at all. That's about as helpful as saying, you can either make it or miss it so that means everyone shoots 50% right? lol It's a playing the percentages league and getting the most optimal and efficient shot per possession, league. My example is something that is more about a 100 shot sample or more. No one is reaching conclusions on what is a good or bad shot for a certain player based on 10 shot sample sizes. You could make it 34% from three (still under league average) and over 100 shots you hit 34, that's 102 points vs. going 50% on 2's over 100 shots and that's 100 points. The goal is to score the most points per possession out there. Most points per shot attempt.

    • @Marronage2
      @Marronage2 2 дні тому

      @ I can understand your argument but a few points of contention. I was referring to your mention of 33.3%, which changes the result. Where I’m a bit lost is the difference between theory and practice. I admit that if a team makes 34 3’s in a game they would win but they would also be breaking the NBA record (I think) And If that same team just made 33 three pointers against the team shooting 50% from 2 on 100 shots they would also break the NBA record but still lose. Maybe it’s the old head in me or my rejection of math but I feel like 34% from 3 isn’t a better shot than 50% from 2 but if so I guess it’s sensible why they look for shooters before Zu. Appreciate all the hard work and content Adam. Much Love. It’s our year!!

    • @ClippersTalk
      @ClippersTalk 2 дні тому

      @Marronage2 it's a longer discussion but most points per possession is the real objective. And that's why teams eliminated long 2s or midrange shots that you might shoot 40 percent on but would be better to just shoot 36 percent (league average) from three instead. Appreciate the love

    First of all, I don't understand why have the Clippers play, travel and play on New Year's Day; I find this very perverse. Then, regarding the Mo Bamba case, despite his large size, he has difficulty playing inside. It's horrible, he leaves space and shoots 3 points, so obviously no interior for rebounds. I think he has a positioning problem with the racket. In the meantime, he needs a strong winger like the player Kai.

      @@ClippersTalk Kai Jones is a power forward who can also play as a center. He would be ideal to fill the current gaps left by Mo Bamba. Indeed, Mo Bamba, despite his talent and impressive wingspan of 2.39 m, has sometimes been limited by injuries and inconsistencies in his game. The addition of Kai Jones could therefore bring valuable stability and versatility to the team. 😊 Thank you for your videos, I love them! Happy New Year 2025! 🎉
