What is 6-9?

My son is in 6U coach pitch and was recently placed at the pitchers mound. Can you make a video on how to properly train for that position?

Great pointers. I can relate to these things after years of coaching my kid. I think another big mistake is to assume you’re a good coach because you played baseball, including those who played at a high level. Coaching kids is a different skill.

Hey Coach, I'm a middle infielder in a senior softball league and, stylistically speaking, when I've got the ball in my glove after making the 3rd out of an inning, what should i do with the ball? Usually I just flip it towards the mound and run off the infield with my teamates. Seems like there must be a better way to put an exclamation point on making that last out...of course without being a showboat. What do you think?

Great video, I'm a casual fan and usually only watch the playoffs - which are always electric, something about fall baseball is special. Had a question for you about the history of the game runtime, if you look up the infographic for "How average baseball game length has changed over 100 years" it shows the games before 1940 were always around 2 hours and below, but from 1940 to 1960 the games quickly jumped to 2.5 hours, why is that? Is it because of televisions becoming popular and adding commercials for broadcasts or was there something else contributing to this? Thanks!

Great video. I know this is an older but this could help some. I do split up the 3 worst hitters on the team and have better players behind them. This way we dont have a rally killed with 3 straight Ks. Id rather sacrifice an out with the 6th batter and keep rally going rather than have my 7-9 spots come up and end a rally

Question: why write the type of hit inside the diamond if you're circling the type of hit on the side?

I learned with the L and W also, but bringing your fingers around to your opposite hip was something new for me. Thanks for the great lesson.

Yeah well I was VERY vocal about my lack of knowledge of coaching and the im depth rules of the sport so I signed up for assistant coach to learn and one day maybe be able to head coach but they messaged back saying they put me as the head coach and now I’m forced to do it and I’m absolutely panicking about it. So bad

Have catcher tag first. Also can just do catcher, 2nd 1st. That’s most realistic in the game. SS and 2B can trade off at 2B

Good stuff. Complacency is a killer. Changing things up in order to keep momentum or build momentum is huge.

I love the 4v4v4 game. We did that a few practices this past summer, and the kids had a blast. Only differences we made were that the hitting team only gets 3 outs and after every out or full rotation of the batting order, players, from the same 'team', in the field rotate to a new position. So, the 1b went to 2b, 2b to ss and the RF went to RC, RC to LC, etc. After three outs, batting team went to outfield, outfield went to infield and infield became the new hitting team.

What kind of warm up routine are you doing? We typically jog/run, then stretch from legs up. Ham stretch, quad stretch, core, shoulder, then arm. (8u, machine pitch)

you didn't show us where to release the ball, and why are you yelling, just speak normally it's easier to listen too.

Biggest coaching mistake i see is "daddy ball".

I got picked for the head coach for my sons team and I’m way in over my head. It’s so much pressure I don’t want to make a mistake. It’s 8U baseball 😬. Mostly because I know 3 outs mean we switch to defense or offense again but normally they lay all player bat in kids ball so how do I manage that?
