Replacing the sliding windows - Land Rover Defender
Would it be easier to take the box out from above with an engine crane? You would need the seat box removed, but at least you would have more control over it.
Yeah that would be easier but at the time we couldn’t get hold of one so had to do it the hard way 🤣🤣
Thanks
That Comma is good oil i use it in my gbox transfer case and diffs wouldn't use any thing else. i do change it every year though and i can deffo recommend buying a pump for next time, if there is gonna be one....
@@GaryKendall-j4z yeah we have used it a few times in different vehicles with no problems! Definitely need a pump for next time haha
There's no need to plug the switches in while fitting up the plugs all only fit in the one they are meant for :)
You know you can wild camp everywhere in Scotland!😉
Yes, but not in or on a vehicle. Tents have restrictions too so you can't camp anywhere.
where do you empty your toilet?
There are plenty of waste disposal point along the trip that we saw. Obviously we stayed at campsites every night so used the facilities there along side public toilets in the day. 👍🏻
@T_D_ADV Glad to hear it. I am sick of seeing the blue patches in laybys all over Scotland.
Hi, great video. The purists out there will probably disagree but the best upgrade I did to my wipers on my 90 was to replace the old style metal framed wiper blades with the soft flexible blades (Bosch), they work much better in my opinion 😁
Thanks and mmm interesting will have a look into it! 👌🏻
Great video thanks. When did you add the double din radio?
We put fitted it June time last year! It’s a very good mod! 👌🏻
Great video had to do the same to 03 TD5, you will not be upset by the Optimill washer jets they are a total game changer for having a clean windscreen they’re awesome. Thanks again guys please keep posting cheers.
Cheers Brian and yeah love it! Massive difference compared to the standard one!
Aww love this video , a lot of fab content shared. Scotland is beautiful even at that time of year. Very proud of you two. xxx
Thank you! 😊 x
Scotland is really very beautiful. Like 63 ♥
It really is amazing! Thank you! 😁
Absolutely amazing nice sound. Thanks for sharing your adventure. Guys I recommended you visit the himalayan mountains k2 and Nangaparbat view point from one place moses peak. Add MosesPeak in your bucket list.
Glad you enjoyed! And we will be sure to check it out thanks! 😎
@@T_D_ADV thank you
Picked the right time 4/ 5 weeks miggies will ruin your whole experience 🙈😳👍🏻😊
This is one of the reasons we picked this time of year haha heard they can be a nightmare 😱👍🏻
From NC500 Limited. Overnight Parking ‘Wild Camping’ under the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 is only allowed when camping by foot, bike or other non-motorised transport. It DOES NOT apply to motorised vehicles such as campervans or motorhomes. The Road Traffic Act 1988 states that you can drive a vehicle up to 15 yards off a public road for the purpose of parking, but this does not confer any right to park the vehicle. If parking in laybys or car parks you must do so in line with the Road Traffic Act 1998 - vehicles may use a designated formal lay-by to rest, including overnight in a motorhome as long as the activity is contained within the vehicle - i.e. no awnings, tables, chairs, cooking etc outside the vehicle. Please Note: This also includes vehicles with rooftop tents - These are only legally permitted in formal campsites.
Not true I’m Scottish and there are lots of welcoming overnight park ups all around Scotland with official signs saying so. 🏴😉
@@apneagary9160 It is true, not my words, the above is the law. If there are official signs giving you permission then of course you can stay there as the landowner has given permission.
Great video guy’s I did the NC500 in November & December 2022, and even more campsites were closed for the season like nothing open! So a lot of wild camping at amazing lochs. If you go again Rogie Falls is well worth a visit. I also did not see any dolphin’s at Chanonry Point I guess they are seasonal too. 😂. Thanks guys keep up your great work cheers Brian
Thanks, we will try and visit Rogie Falls next time we visit Scotland, which hopefully won't be too far in the future as we loved it there! :) & Yes, the NC500 tourist attractions and campsites can be very seasonal which isn't a great advantage for us winter campers but we aren't complaining, we managed and still had a great time! :)
You can't wild camp with a motor vehicle.
@@Bob-bo8ik Yes indeed !
I'm going pay for my clutch change.... Days of grovelling under a Land Rover lifting heavy bits are over for me 😂
Think we will pay someone next time too! 🤣🤣
ive fitted all maxton body kits on all my cars and you made fitting it a lot easier then i did keep up the modding and great video
Thank you glad you enjoyed! 😁
Yet another great short video, please keep up the good work and your Landry is awesome. Cheers guys take care.
Thanks, will do! 😁
Featuring all the pets 🤣
Stars of the show!
Thought it was doing a wheelie like in fast & furious at first 🤣
🤣 basically a monster truck 🤣
I think you need to fix the lights 😂
🤣
Darby powering through even being ill 🤣
Yeah she’s gets on with it 🤣
Becoming an electrical engineer 🤣
That’s it 🤣🤣
Always wondered how those tires were on the back, thanks 😁
No problem 👍
Great as always guys ❤💪
Thank you 🙌
Great video , but guys, both middle and bottom hinges on the rear door - are up side down . Should be fine with ORE once you turn them . Also, I would suggest to put some thin insulation between the plate and the door , just to avoid dust and debris cluttered there over time .
Thank you! Glad you think so, thank you for pointing that out we didn’t realise it at the time haha will get them sorted! Thanks for the tip will keep that in mind! 👍🏻
Good job Tristan and Darby. You gave me a nice little slice of a big journey. It will be a great learning curve for filming your next adventure 😁. Looking forward to future travels x
Thank you glad you enjoyed! Definitely is a big learning curve but was awesome and we can’t wait to show you the next ones! 😁
Enjoying the trip with you guys. Looking forward to seeing Part 2 👍 x
Thanks! Glad you’re liking it! x
Impressive coastline guys x
Was a beautiful camp site and coastline! X
Great camping area and amazing views from the first mountain and Snowdon. Well done but it did look cold 🥶. 👍x
Thanks it was pukka views and a little bit fresh! 🤣
What did you do with the old steps?
We sold them a while ago 👍🏻
Ok guys thanks for letting me know. Love the truck & the channel by the way, keep up the great content.
Thanks will do!
Nice work! So handy for getting to the roof
Thanks! It sure is, noticed it made it a lot easier to open and shut the tent on our last trip to Scotland!
They look really good, well done guys where did you get them from? Keep up the great posts you are inspiring. Cheers Brian
Thank you! We got them from Extreme 4x4. 👍🏻
AMAZING! Love it!! This content needs S M Z E U S!!!
Great to see you both and thanks for the update, especially about the car parks. Did you use a tag system for the tolls on the French toll roads. Keep up the great content Cheers Brian
Cheers Brian! No we just payed as we went along as wasn’t sure what tolls we were going to use if any haha 😁
Hi guys, following along with the build and first trip and will stalk you across to IG too . Im an Aussie, living above the Arctic circle in nth Sweden with BRUCE the 2001 Landy 110. BRUCE was driven 2500km to Southern Germany and is undergoing a camper conversion which should be done June-ish (probably). Ill start the overlanding adventure this summer and will roam around the EU and UK but loving the build and roaming.
Hi! Appreciate the follow and glad you’re enjoying the channel! We will be sure to check yours out too, sounds awesome! Bet you can’t wait to get it finished and start the adventures! 😁
@@T_D_ADV dam right mate, keen as!
NOT THE BEST OF JOBS TO DO IN A SET TIME FRAME BUT FAIR PLAY TO YOU BOTH SHOULD LAST FOR MANY YEARS BEST OF LUCK TO YOU
Thank you! Wasn’t ideal having to rush it but is what it is haha
Definitely the best video , can't wait for part 2 and one from Scotland , btw I hope U have a great time 😉.
Thank you! 😁
OMG great work I would never attempt this myself. Cheers Brian
Cheers Brian it was one of the more tricky jobs but got It done!
You can prime the fuel by depressing the accelerator peddle 5 times with ignition on and the you can start it. For future reference. Cheers Brian
Oh really! Wasn’t aware of this will do that next time for sure! Thanks!
Thanks for the video, keep posting please. Take care guys cheers Brian
Thanks plenty more to come! 😁
Awesome guys thanks for posting another helpful video, who’s workshop do you have access to as it makes doing work so much nicer than being on a driveway. Take care cheers Brian
It’s the family workshop which helps us out a lot on the jobs! Cheers
Thanks for sharing this video keep up with your great work, I love following all of your work on your TD5 110. what make of tyres are you running on? Cheers Brian
Thanks Brian and they are Radar Renegade R/T + 285/75R16
Hi guys can I say you are far more mechanically able than I am, I would never dream of talking a job like this myself so end up having to pay a mechanic to do it. Great video keep on posting. Cheers Brian
Thanks Brian we are both engineers which helps and love the challenge of doing it ourselves the best we can! Doesn’t always go to plan but hey at least we’re trying haha. 😎
Awesome I love Pembrokeshire, spent may years holidaying there but I have to say it looks like Tristan only went off the middle jump at the Blue Lagoon….sorry. Great video keep posting guys. Cheers Brian
Nice! We loved it there was very nice place! Yeah I only went of that one as at the time didn’t realise you could go off the top! As we left someone did and I did think about it but not sure weather would have gone off it! 🤣🤣
@@T_D_ADV 🤣🤣 yep that’s a huge drop and it feels like you are falling forever, then suddenly you’re not!🤣
Looking forward to to see the full build cheers Brian
Thanks Brian
Really getting on well, great to see it taking shape. Keep it going I’m loving your build. Cheers Brian
Thanks Brian appreciate it! 😁
Great video guys, I loved the Les Machines de Lille, they were awesome, however not too sure of the bloke whisking more of a percussionist than a chef. Look forward to watching the rest of your travels. Take care and keep posting. Cheers Brian
Thanks Brian! The machines were awesome! Glad you’re enjoying the videos! Plenty more to come 😁
Hi Guys great to see you making progress, can I just ask about the ‘killmat’ soundproofing is it any good and does it make the Landry much quieter when driving? Cheers Brian
Yes it does make the difference on the big panels. Helps with the vibrations a fair bit!
Awesome video but keep your face out the camera and show the work being done
Okay thank you for the suggestion 👍🏻
Thank you for this video as I wish to do this to mine. Where did you get it remapped? Cheers Brian
It is definitely worth it in our opinion! We got alive tuning to do it at The Land Rover show. They also did a health check first before tuning and found the maf sensor to be faulty and replaced that also! It was a lot more lively on the way home! 😁💨
