Try CLR or Seafoam to remove carbon
What you do I just ordered one
I am welding my suppressors that I build with the tig
Will you be selling the coolant nozzle?
Same here, did you find a solution?
Nope....Asus has either used an incompatible motherboard or has crippled the one they are using to that you cannot get it to 5600 with 2 sticks of 32gig 5600 ram.
How does the butler creek ca with a hole in do for clarity? I removed the punch out on my photon RT at night and greatly helped with clarity. I am getting it warranted out for a 2-16 wraith HD. I don’t think it has a punch out on the front lens.
are both of the ram sticks the same? they are both 5600?
They are identical.
Mine was the same way. At each corner of the lid is a lip of plastic about 2 inches on each direction. I used a Dremel sanding drum to remove all 4 down to the level of the rest of the side. Dressed them up with 600 grit sandpaper and now the lid fits perfectly. So perfect it doesn't even vibrate while the printer is running. 10 minute job. Good luck.
I’ve had test of these scopes there crap
WOW....no issues with any of my Pulsar scope and I have been using them for over 8 years and put them through all kinds of hell..
"Do not print directly on this surface" Hmmm
What your seeing is the plate that all the calibrations are on. They have a glass plate that snaps into place to print on.
So the clogging problem is unsolved on currently selling snapmaker j1s printers? Unsolved for a year?
I have no idea if they solved the issue or not.
@@bobabbott8370 You got rid of the printer?
So this new version j1s is still that buggy and sold with old gen extruders that clog badly? Better buy the qidi x cf pro then.
same thing is happening to mine. i just bought it in november and its doing the same thing. did you ever figure it out?
I did but I don't remember what I did to fix it.
@@bobabbott8370 thanks. I did just get an email from them to try something else. Hopefully this works. I couldn’t find any videos fixing the issue
Mine did the same at first. After printing PC with 60C chamber temp for a while it fit just fine
What was that multi tool you used to remove the pin?

Have you moved on to using the ultrasonic to clean the upper and lower?
No, I haven't and had to send this one back...it would not heat up well....I finally spent the money for this one. It is quiet and works well.. ua-cam.com/video/Uc1rzUT3jO4/v-deo.html
How are you liking this unit so far? I'm looking at one of the smaller versions of this model. Appreciate the content and review.
I had tried some of the others...they were all very noisy. Also none of them seemed to have adequate heaters in them. A few of them were DOA or stopped working in a few days. This one was more expensive but it is very quiet and heats up pretty fast.
Nice how much

Those X and Y prints are for your belt tension. Beautiful prints! I have been buying Snapmaker since the beginning and recently bought the Artisan beginning of the year. I am looking into buying this model as well.
Is that a ER32 collet? It seems there is more rigidity with the ER32 vs. ER20, since the holder has some mass to it. Haven't proved it but leaning towards this direction.
Would you say to take the QIDI or X1? x)
X1-Carbon
Sounds good.
Thank Rich...I am trying to broadcast to my other youtube channel for the machine shop and 3d print area and it isn't working out....I will get it figured out in a bit.
The new system is working fantastic Bob. Did you get rid of the Red Truck?
Nope.... I still have it. And Thanks on the shop. The wireless mic works good.
Good day sir. I have 2 X-plus 2, having problems with overhangs drooping on my prints. I have used tree supports and regular supports with no luck. Any suggestion would be helpful. Thanks
Hello like to order a 6 jaw chuck
I don't sell them...sorry,
Where to buy one?

Tubb did you want one?
I had a firmware issues with my X-Plus 3. I found Qidi tech support to be very good. I hope they are for you!
I have seen mine literally blow of stringing with the circulation fan (the one on the right side), but those look to big to be the sort of stringing it could take off...
Hi Bob, there may be a problem with one of the two Y carriage. I currently have the same problem with an industrial printer with Hiwin linear guides. The noise is very similar, and it has been getting worse over the last few days. Now I can only move the carriage with a lot of force, and it keeps jamming during the movement. I will now replace the faulty carriage with a new one.
Thanks...mine isn't getting any worse, yet.
My xmax only lasted a few short days haha. Could tat be from when you take it off the bed? Id put a Webcam in
Are you using the hardened steel nozzle? This may be happening because you are not printing hot enough and the filaments are cooling down too fast. You can contact their after sales and ask them what to do about it.
Thanks...I sent this video on to tech support.
@@bobabbott8370Any updates?
Mines the same. Must bang it on hard lol
Files the corners and works fine.
I’ve been having the same issue, but on an Ender 5 Plus since the last Klipper update. I’m thinking they shipped with that version. Hadn’t had it powered on in a week or two and it seems everything had new versions pushed. So I’m upgrading. Qidi have their Klipper locked down, but they likely have a new firmware version for you to install that might fix your issues
Who knows what is going on. ...they have said it was the firmware...and the last failure was after a 30 hours into a 55 hour print and now they say it is the SD card they supplied was not compatible with the new firmware....
@@bobabbott8370 maybe they mean the sd card format. That’s an easy fix. I would ask them to specify exactly why the sd card isn’t compatible. It being say exFat and needing to be Fat32 would be understandable, and as I said easily fixable. But the firmware should be being updated over the internet. Klipper is run in Linux and it shouldn’t need an sd card to upgrade, unless the firmware is for the literal Motor Control board and not the basically a Raspberry pi that controls the motors control board. If it’s the motor control board then yeah I’ve heard of that when they have screens attached, and have to be flashed over usb. Yes it’s very convoluted, but that’s because everything was designed to run Marlin and then Klipper came along to take all the heavy lifting off of the motor control boards plate. No one is making control boards specifically for Klipper yet. Yay bleeding edge
Is your model the new one with all the fixes and steel not carbon fiber? If so how's it holding up, and how does jut stack up to their 600mm/s claim?
It has the metal rods so I think it is the latest. The new cable and a firmware update took care of the error. The benchy came out better than I have seen on my Bambus and other QIDi printers I own.
@@bobabbott8370 that's reassuring! How was your z leveling experience? I'm a bit new in they're these and I really want to try and use a feeler gauge but I'm not so sure the setup will allow it easily.
the supplied "Calibrated" paper card is very easy to use and calibrate. Once set, it is very stable. @@kyky7kyle7
Bob, I am looking at buying another truebore to put on a slant pro lathe. Have you done any chamber reaming? or is there not enough room on the lathe?
Oh man....I don't think your going to have the room. As I recall there is only about 5 inches left. I sold mine and am going to be selling the lathe. Health issues have kept me out of the shop for almost 12 months out of 24.
Which one is your favorite in terms of reliability?
Mine kept shutting down around 7-8 hours in on a print. They told me the same thing on the USB C cable. I got a 100w data with the 90deg connections off of Amazon, and I’m 21 hours in on a 36hr print. You should put some air over the cooling fins on the drivers. They’re probably hot to the touch, and most likely getting more power than they need. Mine were set pretty high especially on hold current.
Thanks for the heads up..
Ultimately a firmware update and the cable fixed it....all seems to be rock solid now.
@@bobabbott8370 that’s great. I put that cable I found on Amazon in and did the same with the update and ran a 35hr print with no problems. They did send me a cable but I needed to print a large ABS print before it got here, which amazes me they can send a part out of China and I get it in 4 days and it takes 2 days for USPS to get something across town.
What's the max print speed in this machine when printing nylon carbon?
If I remember to look I will post it here.
i-fast seems better machine all around.
Is that because the i-fast is an idex machine?
@@benjaminford8173 That's one reason for sure.
What makes it a better machine?
Would be great to see this print any Carbon Fiber based filaments at large scale :)
I'm printing ASA + Carbon Fiber at the moment and it is doing great.
Let Qidi know about that, I hope this will be the only QC issue especially after all the upgrades done to the printer when they recalled it. I have a preorder and your videos are useful since you are the first on YT showing the updated version of the printer!
I did and they asked for a video. Overall so far I am satisfied with xmax 3
@bobabbott8370 Glad to hear that! It will be great to see how they will resolve the lid issue.
They had me lightly file the corners.
thank you for the video!
You're welcome.
Mr. Abbott, we just purchased the X Plus 2. We've unboxed it, followed the setup instructions and so far, we're unable to load filament. It produces a clicking sound and never makes it through the nozzle. Any suggestions? Thank you for info and love your setup!
What filament and what nozzle temp are you at?
@@bobabbott8370 PLA x pro 1.75mm 200 c (what came with it). 220c nozzle temp
Can you feel the extruder feed gears clicking on the filament you are trying to get into it?
@@bobabbott8370 yes sir
@matthewm1812 ok...on the usb stick that came with the printer there should be instructions with maybe a video on how to clear the filamanet clog.
Thanks for your video. I bought an I fast a couple of months ago. I haven’t got to use it yet. Looking forward to any videos you make. Cheers Kit from Australia✊
That’s cool Bob.
Thank Rich...
How did you cut the radius along bottom edge of mounting surface
hi bob, i could have sworn you posted a video about the x plus 3 failing to probe the z offset with the bed not moving, maybe i’m crazy, but did you delete the video and fix the issue?
Ha sorry I did....afterward I realized it was on the .05mm and it looked like it wasn't moving....so I deleted the vid. So far it seems to be going well.
@@bobabbott8370 haha okay, glad the printer is working great for you! the reason i asked was because somebody was live-streaming the max 3 last night and was having what looked like your issue that you posted about. the z offset was not moving at all, and so he decided to turn on and off the machine but then after that the next button on any of the setup screens became unresponsive. i have a machine coming in and was worried this was an early adopter bug plaguing some of the machines. have a great day!
@matthewdddd1 yep I know the vid I watched it live. QIDI had it fixed thr next day. A pin was not seated entirely.
I have an x-plus 2. I had a bit of noise and fixed if by applying a bit of oil on the x axis slides. Lubricate the bearings and I think it might fix it.
It actually stopped doing it soon after this video and hasn't done is since.
@@bobabbott8370 good news.
Vectric!
Does the band still allow the barrel to float?
Yes there is a .05 gap all the way around.
